It’s quite fitting because this was Rafa’s 1000 professional match. Sums him up quite well, no matter the score, he’s gonna fight until the end. Always wants to improve 💥
5:50 moving back outside the court provide some extra time for Nadal to defend from the bombs of Kohlschreiber on the second and third set. What a genius.
ONLY Rafa has this DNA, a tenacity and resiliency believing in himself that he can CONQUER and gain VICTORY at the end. He has the BRAIN of a MIGHTY WARRIOR that never gives up. He never lets negative emotions or bad temper controls him like breaking the racket or showing anger. He stays cool and calm and use his BRILLIANCE to WIN.
It's incredible to see how many players have cycled through and were not able to hold a top 10 or a top 20 for more than a year or so and then seeing the big 3 each holding a top 10 ranking for a decade, and mostly in the top 5 for entire decade and more.
This is an old game but very interesting bec. It magnifies Rafa’s personality and his inner man as a fighter that “never gives up”. He believes in himself that he can WIN at the end and his lost score at the beginning doesn’t matter. Love ❤️ you Rafa for your determination….very inspiring…We can learn a very important moral lesson in life “NOT TO GIVE UP” but press on until we WIN 🏆 and gain the VICTORY. GOD BLESS YOU ALWAYS!
2017 was such a strange year for Nadal. It featured some of the best tennis of his career (clay season), some very good tennis (US Open), decent level (Australian Open), and then strangely bad performances (most of the hard court Masters). Ended it off with a couple injuries that made for a rough end to the season.
@@neb6208 There were moments. He played kinda poorly against Zverev tbh, but then he played well against Raonic and was very clutch against Dimitrov. Okay level against Monfils too. But in the final he was just… flat. Honestly one of his worst played grand slam finals imo, just below AO19 and Wimbledon 2011 (and AO 2014 where he got hurt). He came out flat, had a 3rd set slump, and obviously Federer redlined in the final set, but Nadal could’ve also played cleaner for sure, especially in the 4-3 game where he fell down 0-40 off 2 UEs and a double fault.
@@SJ-di5zu yeah I guess relative to everyone else he could’ve won but in terms of how he played vs his other performances yeah not too amazing. Still wish he won that though, he had his chance in the 5th. Really wish he won in 2012 AO too, that was very high level from both him and nole
@@neb6208 AO 2012 hurt, just because winning such a long match would’ve been legendary and in retrospect beating Djokovic at the AO and ending his undefeated run in finals right there would’ve been great. But these losses don’t hurt much anymore tbh. Nadal has stolen so many matches from both of them that he was bound to drop a couple. And now he’s won AO22 from down 2 sets and, really it just feels like it makes up for so much. RG22 is the cherry on top. Also makes RG21 a lot more manageable.
@@SJ-di5zu yeah that’s true, I swear this year nadal is going to redeem so much. There’s 4 matches I think abt a lot and had nadal won them nadal would be indisputable goat, AO 2012, AO 2017, Wimbledon 2018, (These 3 nadal was very close ans could’ve easily gone his way) and RG 2021 which hurt, but for what’s to come I think nadal will be redeeming himself for sure. I hope he can win the calendar slam this year

He is king
Specially if its his 1000ths match hes gonna be even better hes gonna let his opponent win and control the game in another way
Always gonna take some medicine to improve

he ALWAYS finds a way - tactical genius !!
It wasn’t just one metre further back, but three metres! Incredible creativity to try such a huge change
Nadal is never done before his opponent wins Match point🔥👑 The king with the best mindset
He still can tell his grandchildrens after years - I've won a set with Nadal 6-0. Not many done so - especially in the first set.
Even Djokovic had never bagelled Nadal in any sets they played to date
Davydenko after losing 0-6 to rafa in first set, came back and won against him.. I think it was in doha.. That's also an incredible stat to believe
I remember watching this in germany that not even the german commentator thought that kohlschreiber was going to win the match after the 0-6
We have seen this from Nadal time and time again. Coming back from a deficit to win the match is to be expected in most cases. Nadal Is The KING!
A beast! If you hurt him, he's coming for you!

Rafa loves the challenge... He loves the competition. He loves the fight.
Even if it's 6-0 it's just one set. Losing 6-0 or 7-5 it's the same thing when you have a great mindset.
That’s our hero, that’s our man…Rafa Nadal

Rafa used the bagel to give him more energy to crush opponent
Mentally, Rafa is other level...
Sometimes u gotta learn what a warm up set is
Nadal learned the language in a different dictionary where the word “surrender” doesn’t exist, so i don’t blame him as he doesn’t know how
Kohlschreiber has so many first-set wins against Top 10 players. Lost many of those matches in the third though 😅
I was about to say that. For some reason he couldn't maintain that level through a whole match. He deflated after the first set.
He is always a tricky player to face especially for the big 3...

Always been a mystery to me how Kohlschrieber has never achieved more
Recuerdo que le logro ganar a Djokovic en un masters 1000, le falto mentalidad de campeón a mi parecer
Increíble, Raro ver sufrir a nadal en un set, 0, 6 abajo. Pero es un ganador. Grande Nadal.
Vamos Rafa 💪💪💪
In the first set Kohls was hitting as flat as a f**k! 🔥
Kohls played perfect tennis in the first set.
wrong nadal played crappy
The greatest fighter ever
we live in a lucky term of our lives as we can watch live the best tennis player ever and one of the most athlete in history...
The real GOAT
GOAT 💪❤️
Don't forget that match vs Thiem in the US Open too,2018 I think
Alternative title: The day Kohl destroyed Nadal in the first set.
(Unfortunately he could not keep the level.)
Fixed yeah. Don't find Nadal great.
Raro, pero aún así..... siempre Rafa 🇪🇸🇪🇸🇪🇸👍👍
Reminds me of the Thiem USO match, though what came after that set was 4 sets of great tennis!
Great match from both
kohlschreiber 스윙 서브 포핸드 자세 진짜 거지같다.😂😂
Kohlschreiber has got one of the most underrated forehands in the game. Can really flatten them out like Stan the man.
Opponent destroy themselves
That was prank 😂😂

I’d say his Australian open level was really good, he would’ve won it if Federer wasn’t at one of the highest levels he’d ever been that year

He's so cute :)
Also interesting: the day Davydenko destroyed Nadal in Doha after a 0-6 start.
Destroyed?he won 0-6,6-7,6-4, where's destruction there, stupid?
The level is the same with their AO 2010 match.
Rather: One of the day the opponents of top 3 have what it takes but don't last, or miss the last move :(
I once was 6-0 first set and won 2nd set 6-1
I thought i would be Thiem Nadal Us Open QF
my like was 1k
Calling this a distruction is clicbaiting IMHO...but somehow typical for RUclipsrs...
LOOOOL he never destroyed he just won his match, but Kohls has destroyed him in the first set 😂😉😘
Cry cry cry
What a victory for Kohls then
If Nadal would really focus amd dedicate he would play so much better.
