Fun fact: there’s multiple scenes in this series that is improvised. the whole scene on the football field including what Wille says on the phone call is completely improv… if u wanna know, I can tell u all the scenes that I know that are improvised in the whole series but I also don’t want to spoil anything for u
I’ve been told the football field scene was improvised, and I was astounded at the sheer talent that was improvised in that scene. I’ve finished the series now so feel free to let me know of others!😜
@@TheCornerverse I will give a precision, no offenses. Except for the high Wille scene, which was logistically a forgotten scene they had to rush, so yes completely improvised (with a movie reference), the YR scenes are not improvised "in the way people think they are". The film director explained what the real process was: they filmed each show scene two times, following strictly the script. Then, when they had secured the scene, they did "a fucked up" take of the scene, which was completely improvised, for fun and tension relief. Then when editing the filming, they used the best of three takes for each scene (the 2 scripted + the 1 improvised). And they mixed it, to obtain the best result for the whole scene. Therefore, only them can completely say which part of a scene was taken from the scripted takes or the fucked up one, because it is a mix. One of the interview which explained the process link is here ruclips.net/video/iovjENwo7uY/видео.html There was also another freedom the actors had. It was they could suggest a sentence for a scene, before filming it. This is not improvisation, but I can imagine it is nice for an actor to add your words to it. Then the actors, in interviews or social media, talked about "the sentences or gestures" they improvised in scenes, which have finished in the final product. And people falsely deduced from it, that the whole scenes were improvised. If you understand the process the director explained, you understand why it is not really true. Anyway, Edvin who plays Wille, was happy to work this way, alternating between script and improvisation, and having a teacher who pushed them in that direction too. It gave him a new tool to his acting skills to trust his instincts. For he sentences that the actors were free to suggest before filming, it was mainly Edvin doing, Edvin-Wille and Malte-August being the experimented young actors on set. So before filming, Edvin proposed "1, 2, 3" for the scene where the 2 princes run from pictures. Edvin proposed also "the water is cold" joke in the lake scene, and he propoed "Olle, Oski, Felle" fish names in Simon's room scene. And as you saw, theses were accepted and included in the script. But it is different than thinking that those scenes were improvised. it is still an editing mix of the 3 takes for sure. For the true improvised scene, where Edvin has to pretend to be high, alone on a field. The director forgot this scene, and they had to rush it before the snow. She decided Leonardo Dicaprio high character in the wolf of wall street movie was a good reference to copy, so they watched it together, and both the director and Edvin tried to play with the metal bodies and stuff, pretending to be high. Then Edvin was off to himself playing on the field. This was the improvisation. They talked a lot about it because both of them enjoyed it. Us as well.
the fact the whole football scene was improvised shows how truly talented Edvin and Omar really are, they are so extremely talented actors!!! and the fact this is Omar's debut in the acting industory omd
"Why would you film that", really good question. I think that he's on a power trip because he feels so out of control in his own life, so by embarrassing others and getting laughs out of it he gets some feeling of importance, success, control. Plus, belittling Simon is easy, but having something on Wille whose social status is impossibly high must give him such a rush. I also considered that he might genuinely like Wille, and that there is the possibility of him just wanting to be able to tease him as some friends do. He might not be aware of how bad his boundary-crossing can get. The whole initiation thing just screamed power trip from the start, though, and I'm not sure he is capable of liking Wilhelm more than he envies him. At times it even seems like he despises him, though I do think that's another front and that it all comes down to him projecting his own issues onto innocent people. At this point I should say that none of this is supposed to excuse his actions; I'm just contextualising. In real life I don't benefit from considering my bullies' and abusers' personal issues either. At the end of the day, all those actions are not okay.
Tbh I could totally imagine that Wilhelm deleted Simon’s number but either still had it in his call log or just had it saved in his notes or something lol
they are so specal that there passion there connection and there chemistry is magical and they both make each other happy and the feeling they got for each other so loved and its feel so real to have that connection together.i really hate august because he taken a video of wilham makeing love to simon he should be looking after him but all he think is him self he doesnt care who he hurts it was so speical and it was so passion there connection and also there chemistry so powerful. it was so beautiful to watch.
anyone else notice the subtitles were different?? the actual quote is "but I like you and that is not fake" whereas hers say "but I really like you and that is very real." ahaha just something weird I picked up on
@@TheCornerverse "English" is the good one. "CC english" is the bad one. Yo can test it in the lake scene. If he says something like: if they wouldn't be there, would you "make out" with me, it is the wrong one. In the good one, he says "would you through yourself at me". Easy test.
Ok the more you react, the longer I comment, sorry. Yes, Felice mum is not that supportive. For your question about Wille being allowed to stay at school, remember in ep1, Erik showed us he has been living in that school as well, and he was the crown prince, so, I guess yes. However, Wille situation is a bit different, because he is a lot behind Erik in terms of crown prince education, so it wouldn't be strange to see them keep him a the palace to catch up on it right. I agree it feels very rude to film on TV an intimate moment as a funeral (or a wedding). I don’t know if you noticed, they began the episode with filming his privacy on TV, and ending the episode the same way, with filming his privacy (of another kind) on phone. Strange parallel. For the private lessons, I understand his mum anger and reasoning. What I don’t understand is she doesn’t offer to take care of it. She is the adult. I was expecting her to say: I will contact the school and find a way, don’t do this again, we can’t afford it. But nothing. She does nothing! And let him handle it. Yes agree, how August would be capable of comforting Wille. The queen is a bit out of it. The parallel between sad Wille / Happy Wille while Simon sings exists true. There are 4 times in the shows, and 2 sad/2 happy Wille is still genuine with Felice. Even when he rejected her. I feel he has a good intuition about people value. He cares about Simon and Felice because he feels it. He doesn’t care about other really, and we will see that he is right about all the other For Simon’s dad, not as an excuse, but I think he realized that Simon took the pill and fell back into alcohol after that deception. And yes, giving pills is bad, but giving pills you don’t know the purpose is worse. He will be lucky if anyone has a health problem because of it. Simon is not thinking straight. Yes, blackmailing August is not a good idea either. August “extracting Wille’s pain for himself”, is an interesting view of it. It fits with his envy to BE Wille, as the king I mean. He is obsessed with Wille. Except the jealousy, I think he thinks he has a responsibility towards him. And he really doesn’t understand Wille. He clearly sees that Wille is not interested in what August brings to him, and prefers spending time with a working-class boy, what is unacceptable. I know the August Sara kiss was awkward, she was as surprised as us, and without consent. Her reaction was she seemed ok, she laughed at it. Maybe he is the first boy to have ever kissed her. I guess Wille decided to go away by himself, from the party, because he was still thinking to Simon. If not, for which other reason he chose to head to the football field, than Simon memory. High Wille made me laugh a lot too. The field phone call & the hug is something right. He is so cute when he allowed himself to feel and tell. Simon/Omar is a beauty I think we all agree. All the hugs in this episode are a relief because I feel his loneliness so much more in this situation. For the woman, she is he head of the school, we saw her for Erik death announcement, and for August tuition reclaim. During the bed cuddle, the hand holding, and the reciprocate feeling declaration were cute agree. For me the whole hug was a relief. Why do you say it is bittersweet? Maybe because they are not supposed to be together, and they know it? I see what you mean. Usually there are sex scenes, but it doesn’t have the same effect here, the scenes are “intimate”, we can feel their connection. It is a gorgeous portray of desire. I also feel they want us to show how we feel like violating their intimacy, as August does. Alexander is August slave unfortunately; you know the one who was supposed to carry Wille bags at his arrival. He is the one who serves them alcohol and drugs in the society party…The thing is nobody notice him, and the show does it on purpose. It makes us feel he doesn’t count. Yes, what an awful reflex to film someone intimacy. Who does that? As you say, he could have used the information, the next time they climb on table to share the sex experience…strange too by the way. And his reaction, seeing he had sex with Simon! He wasn’t supporting their friendship, but that confirms his suspicion, I think. Yes, when you look back at his stare at them in the first episodes, you can see he his anticipating something. Ans as you say, Simon had the audacity to blackmail him, and he will make him regret that. So yes, it is bad. He hates Simon a lot now and is disappointed in Wille.
Never apologise for long comments, I love reading other people's thoughts and insights! I've always thought it's quite inconsiderate to film a royal's funeral on TV. It's supposed to be an intimate moment where you can say goodbye and grieve as much as you want without being judged, however you're hardly going to ball your eyes out when millions of people are watching you because it doesn't fit with the "image". That's an interesting parallel, didn't notice that! The choir scene parallels break my heart. Wilhelm and Felice's friendship is awesome! I'm so glad there was no awkwardness between them after he rejected her :) I thought that scene was bittersweet because it was such a lovely moment between them, but all they get are stolen moments. If anyone were to find out, it could ruin everything. I sort of had a feeling that they would get outed by someone at some point. The love scenes are so intimate! That's a great take because I definitely felt like I was intruding just like August lol. Now that I know it was him I feel bad. Alexander seemed pretty sweet.
It is everything about Simon, August is disgusted. He is a threat to the system, the monarchy. So basically, when August saw it was Simon in Wilhelm's bed, he was so shocked! I am sure if it was another boy, Walter or else, he wouldn't be so paralized and confused. Of course he would be shocked that he was with a guy, not a girl. But it was all about Simon.
