Hi Vin, do like Benromach’s contrast malts. Plenty of variation and the organic is pretty decent as well. Slàinte Vin.🥃
I'll definitely need to try more after this
I tried the contrast peat smoke, I found it to be balanced: subtle peat and clean sherry. Cheers
I need to look that one up!
These contrast ranges are incredible. You get a lot of flavour with all of them, an array of casks and characters at a good abv and fantastic price. Cheers Vin!
This is kinda funny. I really(!) like Benromach, except for the organic because I have found it way to peppery😂 Though to be fair I haven't had the organic since they changed the range and design, so it might be a lot different now.
Thing is, why would you try it. There's so much choice out there that you're not gonna buy the new version of something you didn't get on with. Hopefully you can catch a sample or something to compare though!
@@NoNonsenseWhisky Spot on, Vin😄 These days I find myself stocking up on the favorites we found during our reviews that can be bought for 100ish $. I practically never take a chance on a fun looking but (to me) unknown dram anymore😉
Going on holiday to Sweden next week and are planning to pick up a bottle of this (much cheaper over there than here in Norway) 😊 I think this is a different release, so if I like it, I may pick up the Norwegian one as well. Feel it’s time I try a Benromach 😊
My brother in law lives in Norway and when I visit I'm always appalled by the prices so no wonder you're picking things up when you travel.
Hope you enjoy!
@@NoNonsenseWhisky Yes. Some bottles cost nearly half the price just over the border. But for some strange reason, some higher priced bottles can be cheaper here. Example, I picked up a Redbreast 18 almost £50 cheaper than in the UK… That was a bummer though as the 15 are sooo much better 😊 The 18 have a great nose, and a very short finish, and it feels much lighter than the 15… Now you are warned 😉
Starting a peated whiskey journey could you suggest a mild Starting point
I'm really glad you reviewed this one because it is not only available online in the USA, but a very affordable bottle. This sounds like a nice one to have in the cabinet to introduce folks to Scotch-- sweet and easy to enjoy. Sometimes we are all in the mood for something like that. Thanks, Vin!
It's always a good day when I can finally cover something you've seen around! Hoping to have a few more coming soon
Ordered some drinks by the dram and added this to it.
Nice! Let me know what you think
Great flavour with long finish , kind kept going round in cicles taste wise. Full bottle arriving today.
Nice to see a well presented Benromach that still seems good value. Cheers, Vin!
Yeah Benromach still holding the torch high
I'm three quarters of the way through their contrasts: double matured, bordeaux wine cask finish and its gorgeous. 46% as usual and says aged 12 years in oak casks on the label 5 years of which were in those wine casks. Love everything from Benromach tbh.
I'd love to get into them a little more. Recently I've only tried this and the CS
@@bobsander4589 im a third through my bottle and I have to agree, it is rather good. The first seven years were matured in FF bourbon casks and it doesn’t say natural colour on the label (it should)but I wrote an email to the distillery and I was ensured that like every Benromach bottling it is natural colour. Slàinte
Love this Benromach! Love them all! Even the 10 year old is delicious and very well priced!! Cheers! $75.00 Canadian before taxes! I love the Benromach 15! The smoke is awesome and a great contrast to Islay peat/smoke!! I always see non chill filtered but I never see no colour added. Have you seen that listed? Huge Benromach fan!! Awesome video Vin!! Cheers!! 🙂
