    Just picked it up for the wife, 2024 premium.
    She loves it. I love it.
    $850 cash out of pocket only and $329 a month for 36 months. You can’t beat that.
    1st timers for elect car so we will see at the end of the Lease if we decide to continue down this road but for now we are happy.
    Use it only for local trips barely any commute unless we go to the beach in the summer.

    I got mine three days ago with a super lease deal. Charged it the first night from 70% on 110 volts AC overnight and was 100% the next morning. BYT I traded a 2019 WRX CVT. The Soltera acceleration is very similar; and the cornering believe it or not (at reasonable highway speeds) is just as good.

    Excellent, accurate review. I want to sell Tara for just one week. I love it. There is a big learning curve to the info system however. I’ve spent probably five hours just reading my owners manual.

    Picked up a Limited in June, not disappointed.
    Mostly just go to work and back (25mi round trip), but did take it camping, and tooled around a little in the mountains here in Central Oregon.
    Great AWD system, handling, and it's more efficient than the 3.2mi per kWh EPA rating (I get 3.9).
    It's just a very livable SUV. Charge it up about once a week, and hit up a fast charger if I need to do do more (pulls about 86 to 88kW).
    This is my 3rd EV, one of the best parts not often talked about is no phantom/vampire drain while parked.
    Another bright spot is it's one of the few EV's outside of Tesla that has a heat pump, makes running climate control an after thought as it doesn't hit the range much at all (I just leave it at 70F).

    It definitely sounds like leasing the 2024 Solterra is the way to go. The buy price just doesn't make sense for a car that seems more like a non-luxury city commuter that Subaru slapped a lift package on to give it that *Subaru brand clearance*. I've got a Subaru that I'm looking to replace with (hopefully) another Subaru, but I'm definitely going to wait to see what their up and coming ev models are in the next few years. Hopefully it's not wishful thinking that they put out a Crosstrek (or even outback) ev. Great review!

      Glad to see they're keeping with the split front foot well though! Other than the ground clearance and lack of physical buttons, thats probably my biggest gripe with the Hyundai Ioniq 5.

      In nearly every metric, this thing beats a Crosstrek (saying that as a former Crosstrek owner now leasing a Solterra). Comfort, features, acceleration, cargo, off-road ability, etc; the Solterra wins.

    Leasing mine tomorrow (Limited)! Coming out of a '21 Crosstrek lease. Best part of leasing, depreciation isn't your problem. If it ends up being worth more than the residual then you benefit, less and it doesn't matter!

      I saw that too, up in Longmont. I think the catch is that they don’t sell. So they’re trying desperately to get them off the lot. Same with other EV’s. I’ve seen lease deals from Nissan in Lakewood on the Ariya around $160 a month with $0 down.

    If you get this for cheap it’s probably reliable transportation, but Toyota isn’t interested in making a good EV yet, and it shows. They could have given it competitive range, charging speed and horsepower and they just didn’t.

    • @c0rnd0g_19
      @c0rnd0g_19 6 месяцев назад

      Toyota is prioritizing battery life, promising 90% of original capacity after 10 years. They need to put more base capacity in though...

    • @Molishious
      @Molishious 6 месяцев назад

      @@c0rnd0g_19 My impression is that people have a minimum range they’ll accept as adequate and it’s around 250 miles. So if you are serious you really need to do whatever it takes to get there. Toyota combined the lowest horsepower and range of any AWD EV that I know about. The charging is mediocre and they even limited the number times you can charge per day. Not sure if that’s changed. On the more subjective side they did this weird thing with the cladding that makes the car look like it went to the auto shop and they didn’t have the right parts. Like they didn’t have time to make it look good so they just made it look weird. Also on the subjective level, I think it’s the ugliest interior of any EV with that weird instrument cluster. Finally, perhaps worst of all, they have a volume button instead of a knob. It just feels to me like they really didn’t want to make an EV. I have a 21 RAV4 Prime and it’s great. I still think it’s the best PHEV in its class. I want Toyota to do to their EV what they did to the Prime. Show some love and pride. If it’s not a great EV, it’s because Toyota didn’t care to make one.

    • @Molishious
      @Molishious 6 месяцев назад

      @@c0rnd0g_19 Wrote a long director’s cut response but it’s disappear. Oh well. Toyota managed to make an EV with the lowest horsepower of any AWD and about the lowest range as well. To me that shows they didn’t really care to be competitive. Subjectively, it’s ugly inside and out. In short it feels unloved.
