- 10 years ago I started with Autorodeo Nederland and now it's time to celebrate this milestone! I've visited 162 different meetings at 27 different tracks across the Netherlands, Belgium and UK. I've met a lot of people and made some great memories during this period. I hope you enjoy this video as much as i do!
What is Banger Racing?
Banger racing is a tarmac, dirt, shale and chalk track type of motorsport event popular in countries such as the United Kingdom, Ireland, Belgium and the Netherlands. Old scrap vehicles are raced against one another, with the winner being the first to the checkered flag after a set number of laps. Contact to damage an opponent's car is permitted and encouraged within the formula, with cars progressively becoming more damaged throughout an event. Races are held at an oval or tri-oval circuits that are up to 1⁄4 mile (440 yd; 400 m) long; however, on certain occasions, races are held in a figure of eight configurations. Banger racing is often confused with stock car racing, although there are differences between the two, despite often racing at the same tracks. Banger racing is also often confused with Nascar.

Some of them HITS will make your butt flinch . Don’t want a rust bucket doing this. Even with the reinforcements when they make a accordion out of your car, flat in the front,flat in the back,and you in the middle. Hello from upstate New York. It’s 2*and a wind chill of -17 . Have a warm day. 🥶

without a doubt the best crash compilation video out there some of those hits were INSANE and to see some of those cars get turned into tin cans it amazing to I presume nobody in the video get seriously hurt

Shame ive never had a chance to visit those places..
As an ex banger driver myself some of these crashes make me cringe, following in & hitting drivers side used to be against the rules. These idiots today don't seem to care about the rules or other drivers safety they don't even care about trying to win the race. Absolute empty heads
Thank god this happened in a different country than America cause are cars would not stand up to that many crashes
There are some seriously brutal crashes in this video. In years to come the drivers are going feel these crashes.

This is a very intense form of racing. I read the brief description of the object of the competition but would like to know more details please. How many laps? Are points accumulated? The intended crashes are worth something besides a completely destroyed car? How much prize money? Do wives have big insurance policies on their men? Any special lubrication used to ease the pain and promote courage? Truley fascinated in Tex.
Hi carl! Most of the tume its 10-15 laps. There's a points championship for the racers at every track. Entertainerpoints are only available at some tracks. Normally there's no prize money available unless its a special event. Last year Speedway Emmen had huge prizes for their best entertainers with the top 5 winning cars and engines. We all have good insurances here. There's no real pain normally, just a stiff neck

Flock me! How often are people killed in these? I would have thought for sure there would be at fatality @0:21.
Nobody gets killed during these events. Even injuries are rare
They have a super strong safety cell welded in around the driver made out of box steel, if you look closely the driver compartment stays mostly in shape while the rest folds up
Seeing the way that those cars crumple like tin cans, it's astonishing that no drivers have actually been killed during any of these races.
At derbies here in the US, we have strict rules and safety guidelines.
Those safety guidelines are here as well, but this is going a lot harder than the us derby's. Also because they crumble, the crash feels less hard.
The safety rules are stricter overhere i think because the speed is much higher. I see lap belt videos from the states that make me cringe. We use 5 point harness, neck braces etc. to protect ourselves.
Great compilation! I’ve been watching these numerous banger racing videos for several years & usually enjoy them all. Question - were there any races at Warneton in 2022. Didn’t see any notifications if there were. What about 2023? From this fan friend n the U.S.

@@wayneweatherl6805 hi Wayne, no there werent any races at warneton. They have some problems with getting a new licence. Doesnt look like the track will open again in the future at this point
