I have been waiting PATIENTLY for you to fix that sandwhich baggy full of Lion-Os for SO LONG!!!..... Now.... somebody show this to Larry Kenney. He would get a kick out of seeing this man saving his iconic action figure.
One aspect I love in your videos is the patience you put into calmly carrying out the repairs. I use this as an example when my little boy and I watch your Masters videos
I lost mu Liono at the Christmas tree farm in 1985 or so. Still have his sword and claw though. Can't wait to see how the battle action works inside. Thanks for the video Dave.
To straighten out the sword : microwave a cup of hot water and dip the sword into cup for about 10 seconds. Remove from cup and bend the sword to straight , and dip into cup of iced water. Repeat until the sword looks ok.
I fixed some loose limbs as well. I use small transparent hair bands made of plastic and resin, durable and flexible. Easy to stretch, non-toxic, no smell, safe baby hair elastic. You can put them on the joints without detaching them from the body. Once they’re on they get into the joint and are invisible. 🫥
For once I have a tip for you, when dealing with something like these figures that you don't want to submerge in water, you can still do a boil and pop method, get a hand towel dip it in boiling hot water, and then loosely wrap the figure in the hot damp hand towel for a couple of minutes, the heat should do just like dropping it in the pot and soften the glue.
Nice to see you working on a toy I actually had (I had him, Snarf, Mumm-ra, WilyKit, and WilyKat). I sadly lost the sword for mine at some point. The figure itself was donated to a charity, along with most of my old toys, many years ago. Great to see Lion-O back in one piece.
Thank you so much for doing this video. I have a Lion-o with a broken arm, just like the one you have there. I asked you about this same problem a few years ago. Looking forward to the following videos
I think lion o got struck by lightning 🤣🤣🤣 I LOVE YOUR CHANNEL SOOO MUCH!! I have a lion o my self with shield and sword and functioning battle matic feature! But I don’t know if mines eyes work or not Cause I don’t have the ring. KEEP IT UP!!
I still have my Lion O offered by my parents in 1986. And he’s still complete and in great shape. The only thing wrong is the grey paint of the Sword of omens
I've taken apart multiple Thundercat figures over the years, they changed the construction of the figures with wave three, so figures like panthro and mumm-ra from wave one are completely different from their wave three counterparts on the inside, its a nightmare if you're a variant collector
Great job. I had to split one once to swap a leg out. I was lucky I was able to put some needle nose pliers in the leg hole and gently prize the body apart. Once the second leg comes out it's easy to prize apart. The glue must've not been great on that one.
Can't wait for the next part I have two of these and the light's don't work so it will be great if you manage to get them working again .any chance you can have ago at the battery holder as well because I have one of them that doesn't work also.👍
HI LUNA! 😻 Lion-O looks great! Can't wait to see the others. Think you'll take a swing at making a few replacement copies of the Sword of Omens? Maybe you can cast one in Blue Stuff and build one out of styrene 🤷♂
I still have the Sword of Omens from my older brother's figure, and it's so odd that it's warped in exactly the same way as yours. I suppose there are only so many ways a dimensional blade can bend, but still. Looking forward to seeing how best to straighten it out again.
This is the interesting thing about this channel - I have zero interest in Thundercats figures but I can happily sit here watching Dave work out solutions to repair these guys while I munch on my lunch, half a world away from where Dave is.
my lion-o has the same legg broken in the same way. so i`m glae to see its a realativly simple fix. Whats was that glue you used to put the body back together?
Use a sharp blade and find a weak spot near the legs. It's not easy. I have more videos coming up on this very issue for my Patreons and channel members later this year. Cheers
Great video as always. A tiny piece of criticism, using the screw to reattach the leg mount was so elegant, then you put teflon tape on the other? Just doesn't seem up to your usual standards, nevertheless, you're the pro and I thoroughly enjoyed this vid!
@@toypolloi Thank you. I actually just saw a few last weekend at a retro toy event after decades, the more scratched the vac metal, the cheaper the figure, that's why Ibeas wondering if there could be an alternative to make them look similar. On a totally unrelated matter, there was also a Dinosaucer in box, never thought I would look at one of those in person, lol.
I can't remember do you have a way I can reach you on like Discord or Facebook or something? I'm looking for a few things you might have in your junk in pertaining to 1980s o-ring Action Man/GI Joe and 1960s Action Man/GI Joe not to mention like yourself I've got quite a collection of bits from different toy lines like Ghostbusters Masters of the Universe and so on GoBots Transformers as another example sectors and Ninja Turtles. So don't hesitate to ask if you're looking for something like an arm or a leg or a part of a vehicle that kind of thing. I spoke to you a while back at one point but I can't remember if I had an email at that point to speak to you or not I found that box of 1960s GI Joe's that I've been meaning to get body parts for ;) and I've got a few Migos that I need body parts for mostly looking for damaged 1980s GI Joe stuff where I do custom figures now and thenThe pieces I'm looking for I haven't been finding on eBay I have tried LOL I mean when it comes to the 1980s GI Joe the pieces are only worth like a dollar and $2 they're not valuable
What the...??? What happened to that Lion-O? He looks like a Luchador or wearing a Kabuki mask! So, they just used red plastic, painted his face over that and hoped for the best. Seriously! It looked like someone spilled red nail polish on his face!
Red face LionO is the stuff of nightmares
Caster Troy: I'd like to take his face............ off.
I have been waiting PATIENTLY for you to fix that sandwhich baggy full of Lion-Os for SO LONG!!!.....

Yes please more thundercats toy repairs
That lion-o without face paint is straight nightmare fuel. Something out of Hellraiser
One aspect I love in your videos is the patience you put into calmly carrying out the repairs. I use this as an example when my little boy and I watch your Masters videos
I find toy fixing relaxing. It's a way to just focus on what's in front of you.
Hey Dave
Once again a toy line i had no idea existed, looking forward to watching the rest of the repairs.
Take care😊
I lost mu Liono at the Christmas tree farm in 1985 or so. Still have his sword and claw though. Can't wait to see how the battle action works inside. Thanks for the video Dave.
Great to see Thundercats on the TP mat. Excellent work
Glad you enjoyed it. I will most likely come back to this in the new year. I need to fix up the rest of them now.
i love the 1980s toys....alot of them me and my brother had when we was kids...i'm now 50years old i still love the classic vinage toys

Can’t wait to see them all returned to their former glory!

He didn't submerge it in water during cleaning to avoid damaging the electronics; it had nothing to do with the dismantling part.
That Lion O with the red face made me laugh- looking all sorry for itself.
Mr toy polloi just got your book and I can't put it down thank you for taking time out to but us in a day of life of toy polloi.
Thanks Brian! Glad to hear you are enjoying it. Makes it all worthwhile 🥰
I still have all my vintage Thundercats, and I think the only thing wrong with Lion-o was a loose head and some paint scrapping.
The power back being on the outside is a smart idea. Nicely done. Thanks Dave.
Thanks 👍
I'm really interested in this series. I LOVE Thundercats. I need a Power Ring to complete my Lion-o and non-corroded Power Rings go for silly money.
Thank you so much for doing this video. I have a Lion-o with a broken arm, just like the one you have there. I asked you about this same problem a few years ago. Looking forward to the following videos
Good restoration
Another awesome project done mate. Great work!!
Thank you! Cheers!
An excellent fix! Looking forward to seeing the rest!
A very anticipated video.
Thunder thunder thunder cat Argo loved ThunderCats when I was a kid
Now this is an interesting one 👌🏼

Forgive me if this has already been done or touched in but Bravestarr was notorious for joint breakage etc. would love to see a fix for that.
I still have the Sword of Omens from my older brother's figure, and it's so odd that it's warped in exactly the same way as yours. I suppose there are only so many ways a dimensional blade can bend, but still. Looking forward to seeing how best to straighten it out again.

Thanks. I like watching people repair stuff as well that I have not interest in. There is still plenty to be learnt I find.
Very curious how the light-up eyes can be repaired. Mine no longer work! Great project idea.
Cool, thanks
Keep doing more TC. Please Do a new Jaga cape.
More Thundercats videos along soon. With a couple of Patreon exclusives.
my lion-o has the same legg broken in the same way.
so i`m glae to see its a realativly simple fix.
Whats was that glue you used to put the body back together?
Great video. Do you think it would be possible to add more articulation.
😲wow!.....classic...i had him..
Hi Toy polloi, what's the best way to open up a vintage mum-ra to fix the light up eyes??
Use a sharp blade and find a weak spot near the legs. It's not easy.
I have more videos coming up on this very issue for my Patreons and channel members later this year. Cheers
Do you think a power ring substitute could be made from scratch?
Or maybe even a car charger adapter?
Have you ever fixed loose legs on Blackstar figures? I have one with very loose legs. Looks like they're attached with string.
It's on my list for a future video.
@@toypolloi Ooh I can't wait!
What was that little hand drill you used and what was the length of screw ?
It's a pin vice. Find them in the toolshop on toypolloi.com The screw just needs to be long enough to go into the leg. Use whatever you have.
Great video as always. A tiny piece of criticism, using the screw to reattach the leg mount was so elegant, then you put teflon tape on the other? Just doesn't seem up to your usual standards, nevertheless, you're the pro and I thoroughly enjoyed this vid!
I use PTFE all the time. It's my go to for lose limbs. Non permanent and doesn't damage the toy.
@@toypolloi I see your point.
I like how you've been bringing the old montage music back!
Nice new video!
Keep up the good work!
Thanks!
Bought the whole series the lovely price of 60p
Cool video, I didn't see my name on list as I'm a subscriber 😭😭😭 lol
Thanks. I film and edit a couple of months in advance so it takes a little while for YT Channel Member and Patreons names to appear in videos. Cheers
That's ok, I'm only kidding.
Q didn’t you do a video of a Thundertank restoration? I can’t find it now!
I have a video ( or two ) on the Thundertank later this month. It's the first time I have worked on this vehicle.
@@toypolloi I must be confused. Anyway great timing.
Part 2?
Still on the cutting mat waiting to be filmed. Cheers
@@toypolloi thanks Dave 👍
No part 2!?
Not yet.
You are kidding me, the eyes light up? I had this toy as a kid and never knew what the red thing was for.
Glad these gents got your care!
No part too yet
Not yet.
Part 2 anytime soon?
I've more Thundercats projects in the works and will also be coming back to this in time. Cheers
@@toypolloi Sounds good, thanks, I just subbed. Any chance on doing a Silverhawks repaint tutorial sometime too?
Welcome. I don't have any Silverhawks in my collection. I very rarely see them but will keep an eye out. Cheers
@@toypolloi Thank you. :)
Where's part 2?
Still in my head. Cheers
And the part 2?????
All filmed and will be along next month, or sooner for Patreons. Patreons also get an extra video on this very project later this year.

I thought that would be a funny random RUclips comment. Dont tho. Just joking
