Adrienne Cowan is a remarkably talented vocalist. I saw her performing live with Avantasia. Incredible voice.
Hell yeah! Great to see them getting some attention. Their guitarist Jack Kosto mixed my band Painting Fences last full album and single Ghost Rider and is currently mixing our next full album.
Good song to start with. Seven Spires is incredibly diverse in their sound. My introduction to them was Emerald Seas which is their most power metal album, and since then they have become one of my favorite bands.
This song is more melo-death but they also have songs that range from power metal to extreme metal to more Nightwish-inspired symphonic metal. It may sound like a mess the way I'm describing but it's all uniquely Seven Spires and works for really interesting albums that are engaging from start to finish. Their latest album "A Fortress Called Home" has been my most played album of 2024.
if you do these guys again i'd recommend the song 'the old hurt of being left behind'. very well crafted song that shows different sides of the band, and is my fave song of the year so far
Adrienne is a stupidly skilled musician. She is primary writer for Spires, handling lyrics and orchestrations. Also does a lot of work with Sacha Paeth's Masters of Ceremony, and is one of the vocalists with the Sonic Symphony, music from the Sonic video games. She also writes video game music.
These guys are all Berklee grads.

PLEASE listen to some Elliott Smith man. He's the master of chord progressions. Pure genius in carrying a base line, a melody and a rhythm all by himself on an acoustic. Tormented soul too. Really great music arrangements.
