I love how Steve Carrel laughs when Stephen Colbert says "I - I have one piece that can never be repeated.... ummmm... as part of a legal settlement."
I love when Stephen says "It's not a Nazi piece!"
His voice goes so high and cute.^_^
He said he couldn't repeat it as part of the lawsuit, but just did. So in a sense he "showed" it to the audience by explaining what the lawsuit was about.
I love seeing Colbert out of character. He is comic gold.
It's great to see the person Stephen Colbert. Very, very rarely see him out of character.
LOL my fav part is when Stephen says "It's not a Naziiii piiiieeecceee!!! Shhh!!!" I love Stephen, he's so adorable out of character! :)
I miss the Daily Show segment, "Steve vs. Stephen." Those were the days
Even Steph(v)en is the best segment ever
I know he may lack "political experience", but I honestly think that if he came up on the ballot, I would vote Steven Colbert for president. Or at least some kind of state governor.
If you you knew then what kind of president we have now...
Probably one of the reasons stuff doesn't work out. People voting popular personalities instead of qualified ones.
He did run for president once...
@@visceratrocar But only in South Carolina.
Basically a real life "Man of the Year" scenario
"45. 47. I don't know if you get it here." hahah that was amazing!
They certainly have different comic styles. Personally, I adore them both.
I LOVE how Colbert goes "It's not a Naziiii piiiieeecceee!!! Shhh!!!" LOLOLOL!!!
Also,
"Where're you from?"
"A small cable news network out of New York."
"Oh ok, what channel?"
"45."
"47."
"I don't if you get it here!"
"And then if they ask what network, you say Comedy Central and you start packing your bags"
15 years later and i randomly crossed through leisure world... it was like coming full circle. It wasnt even planned
oh my god, I love Stephen Colbert.
OMG this clip sounds epic please tell me theres somewhere to see it!!!
How is it possible to "thumb-down" this? This is great!
Now I really want to see that clip
@ottawan613 Germany was called the "Fatherland" back then. The joke here is Colbert comparing the uncorporated cites to combine with the one filled with old people thus calling it the "Grandfather Land"; like the Sudentland and other regions/countries around Germany were combined.
That's the joke, or part of it.
I didn't know that either. Before I was like, man....Steve and Stephen would go great together, they both have similar humour. Then BAM I find out they were both on the Daily Show.
"For some reason he got offended when we compared him to Hitler."
Gee, really?
I wonder why… people are just so sensitive
Wow the dude sitting next to Stephen looks just like Steve Carrell.
Nah his nose is way too big.
I remember watching this piece when I was a kid and i loved it!
Fantastic!
The explanation of what channel they're from is HILARIOUS.
i miss the old daily show when carell and colbert were still on
lol I'm pretty sure Jon's wearing the SAME outfit he had on for that C-SPAN interview in 2004 XD
I really want to see this.
Hahaha I would love to see this episode
Stephen sounded so adorable when he said, "It's not a Nazi piece.!
I hope someone gets that clip from them...
staying up till 11:00 on school nights to watch this show is toatally worth it! XD
wonderful
THese guys are super talented & funny!!!
Damn, I want to see it. =[
I did. It got aired, but as part of a lawsuit they agreed to never air it again. Did you actually pay attention to the video?
You'd think they'd throw some extras on a DVD.
When was this filmed? Before or after the creation of the Colbert Report?
speaking about "rethinking" of comments, "...if I were you..."
Does anyone have a copy of this segment? If anyone knows the year I might be able to find it.
"I love big cat week" ahahah
is the video of what he's talking about online somewhere?
Maybe Wikileaks will get a copy of it one day...
Is there anyway to find this clip that Stephen is talking about?
XD great "it´s not a Naziiiii Piiiiiiieces" and i love the thing they do with their hands, and that the old man did it like them.....omg it would be so great to see this
everything is online somewhere.
@3577 You probably won't be able to, since the legal settlement said they can't show it.
the MAIN point was that it didn't get aired.
did you actually pay attention to the video?
Where can I find a copy of that episode?
This is from before the Colbert Report, so I believe the character you are referring to has not be created yet.
@Recedite I don't think so! If they did then it was still funny, but if they didn't then it was fantastic timing and improv.
Does anyone know where I can find that piece? Like on a DVD set or something?
You say the Comedy News Network
@MarxistYouth Harsh! I didn't know that either and I'm a HUGE fan of all of them. I watch Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert religiously everynight The Daily Show and The Colbert Report are on, and LOVE The Office. But that doesn't mean I research their history as a comedian. Despite your harshness, I do thank you for sharing that with us who didn't know... that makes it all the more EPIC! They've all become huge comedians, I can't believe they worked together!
Someone needs to leak the mentioned video now!
Why does Steve Carrell look so depressed during this piece haha.
@greatamerican1776 throwing insults, always the best way to prove your point
LMAO "I don't know if we get it here" ! Ha ha ha ha ha
Well a lot of people disagree, including me. I find him very funny. So does alot of people.
"I LIKE BIG CAT WEEK!"
well at least i'm not the one asking where one can watch this video online!!!!!
Why does that lady keep interrupting him? Stephen Colbert is a big boy that can talk for himself.
When does big cat week come on?
@mbob67 I think you mean Craig Kilborn. Craig Ferguson is the scottish comedian who hosts the Late Late Show.
well, the video WAS posted in 2008
@Cryptlord91 THANK YOU! :D
I love Big Cat Week too :)
its nice too see Colbert out of character
What was Steve Carrell doing there?
Steve Correll and Stephen Colber look so much a like.
@phlaylock This story is about a field report for The Daily Show, in which the 'reporters' always try to appear genuine. It's not the same show or character as the Colbert Report. It doesn't sound like anyone would actually conclude that the guy was like Hitler from the segment anyway, that wasn't the point of the joke. They were just drawing an absurd parallel for the sake of an absurd parallel.
@FishesWithStaplers Did you see Carrel on Colbert? All three of them where there, too.
Stephen Colbert, Steve Carrell and Jon Stewart? I must be dreaming! :)
Funny as hell!
i luv when Colbert is out of his own character.
@mbob67 Craig Ferguson did not host the Daily Show. That was Craig Kilborn for the first THREE years.. And they were noticed by the Daily Shows hiring department because of a clip that did at Second City. The Daily Show took their talent amplified it and broad casted to the world. And Jon Stewart is an executive producer to the Colbert Report. So they made themselves the Daily Show made them better.
holy crap, why haven't i seen that before!? lol
No, he doesn't. Colbert is in character for basically 100% of his public media appearances.
Steve Carrell use to be a member of the daily show.
watch Carell throughout this hahahah
haha my grandparents lived at leisure world in california!
manner*
he kinda sounds like edward norton to me
um.... What?
what could be passing through his mind?
To bring viewers to youtube, so that they can receive more comments and feel special :)
Steve Carrell looks so uncomfortable the whole time.
@mbob67 Great guy. Wish I heard about him WAY BEFORE when Bush was still around. Only learned of the guy today and that is some great trolling he did right in Bush's face.
2:04 lolol
29 people are from Grandfatherland
Back when it was good
I get what you're saying, but I don't know, I think he's pretty damn funny, too.
"but i just showed it"
Steve Carell was on The Daily Show? I did not know that.
You have a badass username.
At the very beginning Jon's Jersey-ness really comes through. He sounds just like Randall from Clerks.
@MEpianist Amen.
hey whats michael scott doing there....
:)
/s
um...
Colbert is not the funniest comedian of this decade. But he definitely has the biggest balls by far, not just within comedians but within all the media we see everyday. And he uses that to the max, thats what makes him one of the, if not the, best comedians, not the funniest one,
what is this, why is steve carrol even there
I don't rely on writers.
