In the interaction with the Inkmoth and 2 hammers. He bolted with the Hammer still on the stack, he didn't say, "It resolves, responding to the trigger from Sigarda's Aid" Since that's the way the stack was, there would be nothing stopping you putting the hammer on the Esper Sentinel.
Jamin with that literal hammer... lol How about Esper Mill next week? ... path to exile (synergizes with archive trap), stony silence, and rest in peace.
That was a great set of games! You were able to win with the "weaker" version of Hammer Time too! The set looks awesome btw!

I look forward to seeing more content like this. My preference would be that the music be curated to the scenes a bit more, though. Feels strange to have hype fun music in a dense gameplay moment.
The scariest gorilla in the game used to be Simian Spirit Guide, but now, he is up in van heaven with his brother Hurambe who also did nothing wrong.

A year late to the game, but I'm here to be That Guy and clarify that the nominative plural of "nexus" in the original Latin ( _not_ Greek) is "nexus", so in English it would be pluralized as "nexuses". Another example of such a word is "status". You are most welcome :)

I recognized two things:
As the kozileks returns was played the hammertime had the chance to activate the inkmoth nexus in order to make the two constructs 3/3.
Was the plan to save the nexus or was it a mistake?
And the murktides getting bigger whenever a instant or sorcery leaves the grave, and that was missed in the last game ^^

If he animates the Nexus, it becomes a 1/1 which dies to Kozilek’s Return, and then both Constructs die as state-based effects from having 2 damage marked and becoming 2/2s

I have a magic club at my school, and there was a murktide player there. I remember having this matchup alot because I built hammer time at one point
4:25 you could’ve played out the saga, the springleaf drum and ornithopter. Would’ve had 1 off the drum and a land next turn for the constructs

Video might be too old now to get an answer but I am confused. How is Carl able to twice destroy all 0 mana nonland permanents with engineered explosives? Did I miss him casting those with colorless mana?
If you cast X for 0, you did not use any coloured mana, so sacrificing it would destroy each nonland permanent with converted mana cost 0
How about playing Zombies with the new Champion of the Perished?

Too much thinking, we can't do that! No seriously, I think at the time Hammer was only just turning into a good deck, so we were not very experienced. But you are right, there were other lines.

For anyone interested:
T1 G1 from hammer should’ve led on Saga+drum. Your worst case is they blow up drum which they won’t and even if they do you free up your hammer. Follow up on Thopter t2 and plains you can make tokens starting T2. The explosive draw forces them to have to 1 for 1 the tokens and if they do that they now can’t deal with the combo. And vice versa. Ragavan is terrible against you so you really don’t care it’s just a better birds of paradise

I would never play chalice in Murktide, half the spells of your deck are cmc 1 and saga gets the hammer direct in play

Just some constructive criticism: Carl goes a little too hard on the reactions and forced jokes. I know he's going for entertainment but it comes across as over the top. Most of his jokes are centered around "yes, this play/card/I'm the greatest" or "why yes, isn't that SO obvious?" which naturally lends to really shallow self-analysis. I like your guys' content and want to see it get better.

Doesn't work. Inkmoth Nexus dies to the 2 damage and then the 2 constructs die when their toughness goes back to 2.
No acting nexus I response to the return?
If I activate Nexus, it dies and the tokens go back to 2/2 with 2 damage on them so they die

Assuming you're talking about G3, I intentionally didn't (and played hammer instead) to have more lands available - activating inkmoth etc consume a lot of mana, so I wanna have as much as possible

and we thought ragavan is broken, when urza's saga is worst. mh2 simply broke modern. wotc did it on purpose to make modern a rotation set if u want to play competitive magic. go ahead, buy you playset of ragavans n urza's saga and enjoy it before mh3 comes out.
Can you stop flipping the cards like an insane person ... if you're insecure just shake your leg or do something else.
And Karmacrow is great. Just be aware of the fact that cards like Ragavan cost around 50% more as if you would buy it from a private person. I guess the 3€ shipping cost for getting them in four envolopes instead of 1 is reasonable.
If you go to larger tournaments or local game stores, you'll notice that flicking cards is a very common magic tick. It's nothing to do with being nervous, it's simply something fun to do with your hands as you wait on your opponent:)
Shuffle shuffle slap. Over and over again. Why do you keep shuffling your hand over and over??? Yikes.
When i started getting into mtg content, i've found it off putting and weird too. Apparently Pro Players like to shuffle the card they draw immediately, so the opponents has less info about what they just top decked. Small thing, but i guess every matters in competetive play.
This probably becomes force of habit, plus it might be a way to let out all the nervosity and tension. I disliked it too, now its kinda ASMR for me
