Many years back, Dan O'Neill (Odd Bodkins, Dan O'Neill's Comics and Stories) told me that three year olds are drawn (pardon the un-pun) to the SMELL of old comics after his daughter delightedly (and literally) tore into his collection.
I loved how your grandma took you downtown and you had a chance to pick up comics off of the spinner rack. Silver Age Marvel is a treat just learning about characters that you have never seen before! Thanks for the ride!
Great video! Star Wars, James Bond, Charlie McCarthy, Close Encounters and a crazy monkey! Awesome stuff! Love the low grade cuties. Vintage smell can be wonderful or terrible depending on how well stored they were. Gene Colan was a busy guy. At least you taught me how to pronounce his name. I’ve been getting it wrong for years. Love the old Daredevils. Dr Strange was great in that era. Kirby Fantastic Four has been a favorite of mine since I was a kid. That Jack / Zappa picture was awesome. So were the Thors. But there’s nothing like Silver Age Spider-Man, whether Ditko or Romita. Awesome video. While I love a variety of comics, most of my life from childhood to now I’ve been Making Mine Marvel. Thanks for the ride, excelsior!
Another good job Mink. This one really is a good synopsis of geekdom.
The two Ditko Molten Man issues are my favorite all-time Spideys.
Fantastic episode Mink! Love the silver age Marvels coverage and commentary. Keep em coming!

"A robe." lol
Love your work,
That sounds like a bunch of good cheap books. Great for reading.
Nice, Jason! Except for those Marvel Tales by Ditko. Admit that the artwork in those is below par...
