I was loving this vacuum for several months. Really sucked up all of the items around the house. Cleaned it regularly. Today it stopped vacuuming. Lots of air blowing out the rear of the unit but nothing sucking up in front. I was ready to write a comment asking for help since I cleaned it again and everything looked perfect. My wife just came to me and said "one of my purple gloves is in the vacuum nozzle". She just pulled it out and the vacuum again works great again. No comment. We're married 57 years.
Info: it takes 3 and half hours to fully charge and run for 10 minutes if a full charge. the good thing is that it doesn't loose power gradually, it keeps running on full suction power then suddenly stops working. For me that is a good thing!
Love this product🌼 I bought several handheld vacuums. This is by far the best one. Strong suction, light weight, stream line design makes it easy to use.
6:37 battery last 15 minutes, but it takes 24 hours to recharge it; I don't know. They should have made it to last 30 minutes or an hour. Thank you for the review.
excellent review...I have this vacuum, and forgot how to remove and clean the filter. thanks for that. It's a great vacuum; rechargeable. I've had mine several years. Does a great job.
This is without a doubt the best review I've seen on these, because you actually showed it vacuuming in areas similar to where I'll be using it. Thank you.
I looked up this video to figure out how to get the nozzle to fold out. A cat sitting client of mine has this vacuum and I don’t understand the appeal of a vacuum that loses a charge so quickly.
I have this vac and can't get the door open to empty the debris -- I don't want to pull too hard the wrong way and break it. That's the only reason I pulled up this video and she doesn't show how to open the door. Grrrrr
Can anyone give me a comparison between this one and BLACK + DECKER CHV1410L? The one I am asking about has about 5000 more reviews and is listed as a best seller on amazon. Any feedback? Thanks!
Just bought a $29.99 Black & Decker handheld for use in my car...knew it was real cheap buuuut I just wanted one to keep in my car to clean with when I had an extra five minutes, and figured it was a brand I had heard of so it must at least perform its function...poorly, I expected, but at least do the job. I was on a budget and I was totally okay with doing a few extra passes to clean up stuff and I was expecting this one would do it...yeah, big mistake. I was expecting mediocre performance, but I can place a poppy seed down gingerly on the carpet, proceed to roll my face (errr, vacuum) over it three or four passes and there's a 50% chance it won't pick it up...after three passes...while it's just SITTING there...menacingly...and it's a POPPY seed -_-. Forget about lint or pet hair - $29.99 B&D won't get that stuff ever, sometimes won't draw it in even if I pick up a pinch and drop it into vacuum. I should have bit the bullet and got a $79.99-$99.99 one at minimum. I know better than to go bottom-of-the-barrel cheap because I always end up buying something better within twenty four hours of getting the cheapy, but guess I forgot. This one in the video seems like a nice budget handheld vacuum and from the footage appears to perform as well/better than I need so I might get this one. Thank you for the informative video Miss!
I just received my vacuum cleaner today from Amazon (April 25, 2022). The Crevice tool came out, but it will not go back inside of the nozzle. I will have to return it, and I am bummed about it!!
I have the black and decker pivot vac 18 V that I bought new in 2016. The only thing I don’t like about it is that it has NiCad batteries that have to be fully discharged before fully recharging. I understand these lithium batteries don’t have that problem. Yet you mentioned something about a “balancing” concern with lithium batteries. I don’t understand this.
I had that problem at first. Hopefully you discovered that if you press down on the 3 dashes on the end of the crevice tool located where it slides back into the vacuum, the crevice tools slides back in. Sometimes you have to press firmly on the dashes.
I have lost my instructions but i know it said I could leave it on charger which i have been doing. I love mine but now my nozzle attachment is caught in extended position. I will try pressing on the 3 little bars some more. Does anyone have a number to reach their customer service just in case? Thanks
Thank you so much! For the life of me and despite the instruction manual, I could not retract the crevice tool. Your video was a godsend. I would add that for those of us with creaky finger joints, it may take more pressure than expected to release the raised button on the crevice tool in order to retract it. Best Wishes!
I was having trouble removing the filter to clean it. I'll use your suggestions. I did remove and replace the filter a couple of months ago, but I guess I forgot how to do it. Thank you.
Damm you are strong. I still have not been able to remove the dammn pre-filter :( I have smaller hands and I'm strong, but it just doesn't want to unclip.
I've had my vacuum for at least 2 years and like it very much. My pain complaint is the clip on door to the filter cup had 2 plastic knobs that fit into the vacuum have problem off which means the door will not stay on. I have not been successful finding a replacement.
+wynt22 Hi, only when you first get it, charge for 24 hours. After that, a full charge will take a few hours. Most of these vacuums last about 15 minutes and then you have to recharge.
I've owned the earlier "18V blue & white" model for a few years. When it was new the battery only lasted 10 mins and took a full 24 hrs to recharge (recharging only a few hours, was virtually worthless). But now after a few years the battery only lasts 5 mins which is why I decided to upgrade to this one. Seems good so far! Although the 20V model is even louder - which is not surprising if B&D is putting more volts on the same motor!
Don't buy this product. There are many cases of controlled obsolescence on his model. The battery will stop running precisely after the warranty ends and there is no possible battery replacement. All the plastic pollution caused by this makes me really angry.
Meris Ruzow I always wear ear muffs similar to what landscapers wear (along with a dust mask)when I vacuum. I bought mine for $30. It may seem stupid and expensive. But your ears will thank you for it years down the line. So will your lungs. If you have one of those Shark “library quiet” vacuums, you probably will not need the ear muffs then.
I especially liked the demo of you vacuuming the interior of a vehicle, which is one of the main reasons I placed a buy order on ebay AFTER watching your video. I also liked you showing how easy it is to clean AFTER use. You made no mention of warranty registration. That is something I'll find out about AFTER my purchase is delivered. YES, I've subscribed. And, YES, I've read all the reviews.
Hi, as per my engineer friend - lithium batteries require something called "cell balancing". All the cells within the battery pack need to be at the same exact voltage to ensure the battery works properly. We're assuming this is the reason Black and Decker recommends the first charge to be 24 hours. Hope that helps :)
this was a great vacuum! the suction is super strong. too bad my battery isn't holding a charge anymore and the door hinge broke. is there any other you would recommend with the same or more powerful suction?
@@fallback8314 yea the battery isnt great but the bigger problem is the door hinge. it will break. get the Shark CH951 UltraCyclone. its way more convenient. just dont overcharge the battery
Anyone had to replace the filter on these units yet? The lady says to change it every six to nine month but I haven't met anyone online who's had to yet.
HI! Thank you for the demonstration. The manual does not do a good job of explaining how to get the pre-filter out. UGH!!!! I had to keep twisting it, finally came to your video, and realized that turning it to the right - with force, got it loose! Thanks. I don't know how many videos I have searched on this, but YOURS did the trick. BRAVA!!!!!

Agree 100%. I felt the same way. Just the facts, clearly presented, presented in an orderly manner with a good demo of tasks.
Best vacuum ever bought
well done quick to the point

The Dusty Suitcase Test should be one of the new vacuum standards! !!!!!! great test!!!

Well done video, thank you. My Pivot Vacuum arrives tomorrow.
Hope you enjoy it!
Wow, I never saw a video with 1440p. You must have a awesome camera.

So sad. Our B&D Pivot broke today after 7 years of hard use. Ran across this video while searching for a replacement.
a Very helpful review - saved me the time to read the instruction manual.

Great but the battery sucks ! Is there a place that we can get a replacement battery in India !
The vacuum appears bulky.

Good but some things not explained
did you have any issue with the dust compartment door breaking? There's lots of review on AMZ talking about
she's smart, she DID predict that there'd be issues with the rather flimsy door.
finally found a video on how to remove the filter, thanks

You're welcome! 😀
Good job young lady I love video’s when people have knowledge of what they are reviewing and get to the point

Way the vacuum blinking? Do we need to change the buttery ?
Not sure if this comment still matters but the blinking is an indicator that the battery needs to be charged soon or the battery is on low charge.
Bought a new one but the blue light is not on while charging. The power switch is off. Don't know what is the problem. Anybody can help?

I don’t see a “raised button” on the crevice tool! It won’t close for me like it did for the videographer.
My white pre-filter does not come out. It is a nice product. Easy to use. It looks like the pre-filter is locked in
+is1531 Hi, mine was also very difficult to remove but it will come out with a little force :)
I was having trouble removing the filter to clean it. I'll use your suggestions. I did remove and replace the filter a couple of months ago, but I guess I forgot how to do it. Thank you.
Black and Decker make too many things which is my concern with these kinds of brands. The extender not staying out would bother the crap out of me.
How to move crivis tool back
Battery dead after few uses and it cant be replaced.
Dont buy!!!!!

Me too, I was afraid of braking it. So I left it alone and wash it out. The instructions leave a lot to be desired.
Me also just press it down a little and push in

I just received mine. Crevice tool didn’t stay locked at all. Is it a defect or it’s meant to be like this?
Did you have issues where dust goes back out from the canister out through the nozzle?
Did you say that it takes a whole day to charge but only lasts for 15 minutes?
+wynt22 Hi, only when you first get it, charge for 24 hours. After that, a full charge will take a few hours. Most of these vacuums last about 15 minutes and then you have to recharge.
Wow, you're the first person to ever reply to a question. Thank you. I just ordered one and it will be arriving Friday.
how is it?
wynt22 From what I've read on buyer reviews the battery life is shortened after the first year and is practically useless two years in.
I've owned the earlier "18V blue & white" model for a few years. When it was new the battery only lasted 10 mins and took a full 24 hrs to recharge (recharging only a few hours, was virtually worthless). Although the 20V model is even louder - which is not surprising if B&D is putting more volts on the same motor!
I want it for my car but it looks like it’s not that great for the car to me. For the amount of money it’s not doing a good enough job for me
I cannot get the plastic filter off no matter how hard I twist :(
Anita, can you please do a review on the Duronic VC8/bk stick vacuum. Great review as always & straight to the point.
Hi Carol, it looks like the Duronic is not available in the U.S. 🙁
Awwww man, that's a shame. It's available here in the UK. I was thinking of getting it, but I wanted to your opinion of it. Cheers anyway
Don't buy this product. There are many cases of controlled obsolescence on his model. The battery will stop running precisely after the warranty ends and there is no possible battery replacement. All the plastic pollution caused by this makes me really angry.
