@@Sharkie626 Correct, in fact, 2021 isn't gonna change "for the worse" at all. The new regulations going into effect in 2021 are simply "Residential washers have to meet or exceed 2018 regulations," and *fortunately,* adds verbiage of "Clothes washers designed, sold, and designated as 'Commercial' instead of 'Residential' units will be exempt from the testing procedures, sales, and installation altogether." I personally believe that the reason these regulations are actually being REDUCED is because the EPA and DOE realized that (what I predicted a couple years ago,) the cleaning ability goes down as efficiency requirements get tougher. As has been proven with low-flow toilets... where performance was so diminished in the name of *EFFICIENCY!* that people started having to flush multiple times to accomplish the same result of older "water-hogging toilets," and the result is obviously actually using MORE water. As for the washing machines, consumers notice that, occasionally, clothes are still dirty or soapy, so people are running more cycles, actually using *MORE* water and electricity!
There are many videos on the internet featuring the pros and cons of the top load and front load washer but not a single video doing a test of a similar dirty laundry load in both these types of machines simultaneously and showing the results. Can you please do one such video?
I'm surprised you're still such a SQ fan after they blacklisted you. BTW, do you have a infared thermometer where you could check the wash temp of the normal eco cycle? I'm curious what they consider "warm" and "hot".
I have checked the temp using s calibrated digital probe thermometer on the warm setting, got 102 degrees F. Cool was at 93 degrees. I haven't run a hot load, and cold is supposed to be tap cold.
I checked the hot temp, and it was 130 degrees, pretty close to the water heater setting. I seldom wash in hot (dog blankets, etc), but it's nice to know I can.
My washer just bit it, and I was about to purchase a Maytag commercial within the next day or two, so I'm glad you posted this! Are all the 2019 models like this? What's the best way to be sure to get a 'good' one?
Speed Queen washer model: AWN632SP113TW01.... TC5000WN. Any other Speed Queen washer is NOT worth having! But this one is the "classic" model SQ washer like they manufactured for decades!
I was about to buy a Roper or an Amana, though I had heard that these low-line Whirlpool models were not very durable. I was happy to see the return of the old-school SQ.
I did. AWN632SP113TW01, the TC5000WN. I will verify when it is delivered, before they bring it up the driveway. On the other hand, even a bad Speed Queen is better than the best LG.
Normal/Eco does half fill wash and spray rinse only from what I recall. I think Permanent Press is supposed to do a full tub wash/rinse. I know the new TR3 has an annoying end of cycle beep that wont stop until you open the lid.. It also has a lid lock :(
The partial fill does a fine job for a normal-size load, and the deep fill provides the flexibility to work with big and bulky items. The TC5000WN appears to be a real winner!
I like the Dave Jones approach - Don't turn it on, take it apart! Is that a steel wash tub? And if so, do they do well with corrosion resistance? I'm sure it's more economical for low production volume than plastic tubs, in that you don't need an enormous injection molding machine and expensive mold dies, but it seems like it could be a compromise for longevity.
We have a 2016 Speed Queen washer, it works great, and after 5 years it is still like new. I also watch Mr. Lorain Furniture and Appliance videos. So before I buy another Speed Queen, or recommend it to others, I need him to give it a clean bill of health. If he says the new model is nearly as good, that is sufficient. It doesn't have to be as good, just good enough. But this video didn't reach any conclusion. It just showed that the new washer functioned.
@@LorainFurnitureandAppliance it's sad to me though that they attempted to cut costs and claim that it was "EPA regulations" and aside of you I'm sure lost a lot of dealers and customers which I'm quite certain is the reason they went back to their design that actually works instead of making a top loader imitate a front loader essentially.
DownsLife&Safety My guess is to compete with the Maytag 575. This is just their commercial machine decked out for residential use, exactly like the Maytag.
Hey there, I know you through Appliantology, I go by Tone. Youve helped me quite often. Thanks for posting this video, I had a customer ask me about this yesterday. Thanks again!
Worth the extra money. I bet you could go through 4 whirlpool washers to this one machine. And at $500+ a pop for the whirlpools you would save a thousand dollars.
im glad they came back with a design that customers asked for however i have no issues with the TR7 (from 2019)... im told that they made some changes to the software fro, 2018 and to 2019 on the agitub design... I have one.. and really it gets my clothes clean and does it so much better than my LG front loader ever did... even my Cover-alls after going and working on my old school busses (I restore them as a hobby) get clean in my TR7 where they never did in my LG WM2688 (top of the line front loader for its day oin 2006).. so why all the dislike for the agitub design? was it mistakes in 2018 that are corrected in 2019? or is it people having to learn to use the new design correctly... its definitely different to set up and how I load clothes compared to a traditional design like this.. so Lorain Furniture. please challemge me as to why this design is superior over the (suppoedly improved) 2019 (not 2018) TR series machines.. if I collected washers I would order one of these and challenge myself.. but alas i dont... so invite me to bring my coveralls up after working on my diesel engines and run them through this TC5000 series machine.. my way of washing dirty cover-alls in my TR7 (and in my LG that sucked) is a tide pod, a cascade dishwasher pod, a table spoon of dawn liquid.. full tub, heavy duty cycle medium soil, hot water, extra rinse... im not concerned about ECO or how much water i use. just getting clean... so challenge me.. because even though everyone seems to hate the new design... i am having good luck with it..
@PinkPower4 I wash 1 set of coveralls with a bath towle (my main rag for working).. the formula for soap is that dawn cuts grease.. ive used it for cleaning greasy metal parts before... dishwasher soap seems to be heat activated and somewhat time release.. and a tide pod for general clean and smell.. I would also be interested in how the maytag 575 cleans them too it looks like a solid machine with good wash action.. the maytag has the agitator design i remember whirlpool using in the 80s which cleaned good..
Next, i'd like to see the heavy duty cycle with heavy soil option on. When will the lg wm3900 arive for filming? If I were you, I would push, push, push.
Too late for me Speed Queen. I already bought the Maytag 575......awesome machine. Got a steal of a deal at Sears Outlet. The reviews of the 2018 SQ chased me away. I was looking for a machine that moved clothes and actually put enough water in the tub to wash them. The Maytag did both but the 2018 Speed Queen didn't move clothes around enough for me. Looks like they fixed that with this 2019 model.
@@5610winston It was my $680. Samsung that didn't wash clothes worth a darn that crapped out after only 4 years. When I first used it, I watched the first wash cycle through the tinted plexiglass with a flashlight. I knew right then I had made a mistake. Some parts of the initial load of clothes never even got wet!! Circuit board fried......$580 total to fix. I said....."No thanks".
When My LG crapped out, I decided to buy one of the cheapest Whirlpool/Roper/Amana (still HE, but with a real fin-type agitator instead of the modified flying-saucer-type wash plate in the latest Maytag Commercial tech with the vertical broomstick and drill auger attached) machines from the home center. I didn't like the idea, but I had heard the reviews of the 2018 SQ machines. On a hunch, I looked up the latest Speed Queen reviews. When I saw the TC5000WN on RUclips, I was out the door like my Elkhound when he hears the leash rattle. I was at Smith Appliance in Marietta, GA within twenty-five minutes, had my credit card on the counter as soon as the salesman told me that they had come in a couple of days before, and after arranging delivery, I was home about an hour after I had left.
@@5610winston looks like a nice machine, I'm sure you will like it compared to the LG HE. I actually like the drill bit type agitator on my Maytag 575. It brings the clothes down from the top to the bottom. Check out Lorain furniture videos on the Maytag and you'll see what I'm talking about. He WAY overstuffs the machine in some videos which I can't see any machine cleaning properly, but on the ones he doesn't, it clearly moves the heck out of the clothes. I'd be freaking out if I just bought one of these washers and it made that kind of rattling noise on the spin cycle. I'd be on the phone with the retailer asking for an exchange.
Georgiann Maloney at used appliance stores but you can’t get them brand new anymore. But at least you can get them refurbished which is basically like getting it new depending on its condition and how it was treated
hello, just found this video while doing some research on Speed queen. I have come to find the TR3 and TR5 models and was wondering what the difference was between these models and this TC5000wn your showing in this model. is the TR models on the design basis as the crappy 2018 models. as once i saw these I have wanted a set over the newer box store brands. but if they don't perform as well. I may as well try out the Maytag commercial. as i am ready to buy a set. but now unsure. if you could get back to me about this. that would be great. Thanks for the video.
Dang! I paid $1029, plus $49 for delivery and $61.74 tax, total close enough to $1140 as to call it that. Of course, I had my credit card on the counter before the salesman had finished greeting me when I walked into the store.
About like whenever they came out with New Coke-people didn’t like it-they wanted the original Coke back-they brought it back-Coke Classic. Same principle.
@Lorain Furniture would you recommend this or the Maytag MVWP575GW. I realize there is a price difference, but ignoring that which is a better machine?
Machine arrived and the fellows from Smith Appliances installed it, ran it through an abbreviated test cycle. I've got the first load in now. It isn't especially quiet, but it runs smooth.
Spin speed seems to be 710 RPM. 1/2 HP 2 Speed Transmission (i.e. Just 2 Direction Move, Forward and Reverse) And right now a 10 parts and labor warranty!
Can verify - and depending on a lot of different factors, some machines can retain a good bit of water. Just the way it gets tipped in handling to deliver and install can make this more or less evident, depending on if you tip it forward, backward, or to a side.
Similar to the AWNA62 available in Australia. We have a three level water selector, Eco cycle options but no extra options switch. Aus still has the traditional transmission but an electric drain pump to eliminate lint as we generally dry clothes on a clothes line.
Jack Belt just stick something in between the 2 metal things which are underneat the panel at the right side corner of course i mean look behind the panel and underneath it and you will see what im talking about
Did you bypass the switch and if so are you able to have the lid up while the water is filling the tub initially? Also are you able to leave the lid open to presoak for a few hours.Thanks.
I know with how SQ treated him to begin with definitely left a bad taste in my mouth for SQ as a brand. Everyone knows SQ F'd up, Eugene shouldn't pay the price for simply being the first to call it and being an honest a good man to consumers. SQ should be doing everything to repair their relationship with Lorain Furniture and Appliance. Eugene is far better a man than I am to allow them to screw me over and then still be kind to them.
I'm disappointed in the circuit boards. Although Speed Queen have very reliable boards, the replacement cost for those boards are so high, you might was well get a new machine if they go out. The traditional style timers are very inexpensive and common.
Classic wash, but only a 3 year warranty on the TC5 :( It should be called a TC3 then. The TR3 is 3 year, the TR5 is 5 year, and the TR7 is 7 year, but they all have the "Speed Queen Perfect Wash" system so I guess they wash the same as the 2018 model :( I'll stick with my Amana NTW4516FW :)
I'm confused. So this is the NEW model which is like the 2017 model? However, I don't see a water load size dial. Is this going to use as much water as the 2017's? How does this 'sense' the load size?
Same motor and transmission as the 2017 and earlier. Has electronic controlled dials vs electromechanical. A computer is actually running the machine instead of a timer. Half tub of water unless you select deep fill option. I don't think it actually senses the load.
Tolkien wrote a book about this: THE RETURN OF THE KING. The worst of it is, though, even the much-maligned TR-series Speed Queen washers were better than almost anything else on the market. LG? GE? Just say NO!
Normal cycle takes less than a half-hour. Certainly beats my LG and GE machines, both of which were most accurately timed with a calendar. Extra rinse adds ten minutes, and even the HEAVY DUTY PRE SOAK EXTRA RINSE settings come in faster than the fastest normal load I ever ran in the LG this machine replaced. It doesn't extract quite as much water as the HE machine, and it doesn't offer a stand-alone RINSE AND SPIN cycle, but I have nothing to complain about. It even LOOKS cool, if your laundry corner happens to be in a prominent showplace in your home.
Yeah that's very true, I'm just used to taking things old school. I like to see how much time is left. It would also be nice if they added a digital clock that shows how much time is left but other than that, I really like that they made a whole 360 this year.
My LG had such a display, but the time kept resetting throughout the cycle so that it would show a longer estimated remaining time than it had shown when I started the washer, and that after the machine had been running longer than the initial estimate shown on the display. With the SQ, I just remember that I can start it with the 10:00 news and put my clothes in the dryer before bed at 11:00
I've had mine for almost two weeks, (delivered 14 May). The salesman said when I bought it that only two stores in Georgia had received them as of 11 May, and implied that supplies of this model may be restricted for some dealers. You will not find it at big box stores, just independent appliance and furniture stores. Look up your local Speed Queen dealer, and ask if they can get it. Diggin the stache, Eugene! So does this mean you're back in Speed Queen's good book again?
I'm surprised you're still such a SQ fan after they blacklisted you.
BTW, do you have a infared thermometer where you could check the wash temp of the normal eco cycle? I'm curious what they consider "warm" and "hot".
@@LorainFurnitureandAppliance Speed Queen back with a vengance! Also, I believe they're adding this model to their current tr lineup.
Thank you Speed Queen!
Bassist Guy: Perhaps now they will consider abandoning the TR SERIES and go back to this old and proven design.
@@5610winston Only buy the Speed Queen washer that's shown in this vid!
I did. AWN632SP113TW01, the TC5000WN. I will verify when it is delivered, before they bring it up the driveway. On the other hand, even a bad Speed Queen is better than the best LG.
@@5610winston Congrats.... on purchasing a TC5 Speed Queen washer!
Heavy duty and delicate too. I'd stick with heavy duty.
How do you bypass it shows a video on that thank you
I’m glad speed queen went back
Great Video !!! Does the Speed Queen TC5 hear a test mode ... like the Maytag MVWP575GW?
Eugene do you think there is any chance sq would let you back as a dealer if you wanted to carry this or are you banned for life?
@@LorainFurnitureandAppliance it's sad to me though that they attempted to cut costs and claim that it was "EPA regulations" and aside of you I'm sure lost a lot of dealers and customers which I'm quite certain is the reason they went back to their design that actually works instead of making a top loader imitate a front loader essentially.
How interesting! I wonder why they decided to make the change back other than consumer pressure...
DownsLife&Safety My guess is to compete with the Maytag 575. This is just their commercial machine decked out for residential use, exactly like the Maytag.
I believe they're adding this model.
Like it was when discontinued for 2018. Actually, Maytag copied SQ in offering a commercial spec machine for the home market.
Hey there, I know you through Appliantology, I go by Tone. Youve helped me quite often. Thanks for posting this video, I had a customer ask me about this yesterday. Thanks again!
Are you doing anything with the washer you showed in that picture? The vintage one
@@LorainFurnitureandAppliance I'll reply to that post now.
Yayyyy real washer is finally back!!!
Next, i'd like to see the heavy duty cycle with heavy soil option on. When will the lg wm3900 arive for filming? If I were you, I would push, push, push.
45 minute wash time
@@fargeeks 45 minute wash time I can deal with for maximum cleanliness along with proper agitation and water level.
@@jeromedavis8575 or you can cancel the mid wash cycle and start a new cycle which will resume the current wash action but with extended times :)
Brad Doe Yep, me too. Speed Queen was about a month too late. I went with the Maytag 575 also and absolutely love it!
Timing was perfect for me. It came on the market about the same time that my LG crapped out.
Mine only takes 35 minutes for a full wash.
That spin cycle took forever!
Mesmerizing. Did not see the tub fill up for a rinse. Just saw some spraying. ?? Speed Queen is a quality machnie.
Thats what you get for the eco cycle
But it does fill fir rinsing
Would like to see a review of this vs the Maytag Commercial. Like this is direct drive after watching your video of all the benefits of direct drive.
Look closely at the dasher in the Maytag. Looks too much like an HE wash plate with a broomstick and a drill auger stuck on top to me.
Still cheap whirlpool crap. Give me a real Maytag over that garbage any-day!!
Great washer 👍🏻
What is that thump noise?
How long does the belt and pump last on these?Just want to know when to change for maintenance
I wonder if it’s easy to bypass the lid switch
Looks like exactly the same rig that is on the original units. I bypassed mine with a magnet years ago and it serves fantastically to this day
@@frankdiscussion9988 hi Frank just wondering where you put the magnet at so that I can also bypass mine 🙂

Seems my reply was deleted so this is a 2nd attempt. This video is no help other than to see what you are dealing with.
The metal flange is actually part of the switch. Wiggle it a couple times and you'll know what needs to be done.
Good luck!

I'd be freaking out if I just bought one of these washers and it made that kind of rattling noise on the spin cycle. I'd be on the phone with the retailer asking for an exchange.
It does seem to have some kind of clacking noise while spinning. Maybe this is normal..
@@Brandon-jy2yl That is the pump you are hearing .
I swear, I ran the commercial counterpart of these empty and there was incredible turbulence. That's what you need to wash.
Did they design it like the 2017. Does it agitate like the older ones. Yay it does. Yay. Love your videos. Now Maytag or speed queen.
Yes.

hello, just found this video while doing some research on Speed queen.
The TC model is the only one anyone should consider if they actually want clean clothes period.
Wonder if they will come back with a mechanical timer?
If Lorian tells me to go Speed Queen vs Maytag, I’m going to buy this machine. Also Lorain, what is the price I can expect to pay for this?
A local dealer of mine has them at $929, but can't say if that is the price you will get in your area
Dang! I paid $1029, plus $49 for delivery and $61.74 tax, total close enough to $1140 as to call it that. Of course, I had my credit card on the counter before the salesman had finished greeting me when I walked into the store.
@5610winston I paid $999 for the washer, $998 for the dryer, taxes, and a $25 delivery.
Is this washer available at retail now? Did they increase the size at all?
Really like your in depth videos Thank You
Bought one this morning in an Atlanta suburb.
Thanks so looks like they are starting to come out!
For me, a lot came down to the SQ washes a normal load in under a half-hour, and time is the main resource I want to save on washday.
@@5610winston Good point. I had not considered the time to do the wash.
Machine arrived and the fellows from Smith Appliances installed it, ran it through an abbreviated test cycle. I've got the first load in now. It isn't especially quiet, but it runs smooth.
I have been trying to find the specs for the tc5 with no luck. I am looking for spin speed n is it more than a one speed adgitator? Thanks, Jon
Spin speed seems to be 710 RPM.
1/2 HP 2 Speed Transmission (i.e. Just 2 Direction Move, Forward and Reverse)
And right now a 10 parts and labor warranty!
Jon Larsen yes if you do permanent press then the spin cycle is slower, and if you sheets and or delicate cycle then the agitator rotates slowly
Cool! They brought the old style back! sorta...
Now the question is: will your banishment from Speed Queen be overturned?
no
Love the review. Will you ever do a stacked pair top load review.
They do not offer a stack topload anymore
They are wet inside because they test them before leaving the factory was my understanding.
Can verify - and depending on a lot of different factors, some machines can retain a good bit of water. Just the way it gets tipped in handling to deliver and install can make this more or less evident, depending on if you tip it forward, backward, or to a side.
Could you please video what the delicate cycle is doing to see if it is really gentle? Wow the spin cycle lasts 15 min.
Thank you.
Ruth Carr the delicate cycle is just a,handwash cycle
Similar to the AWNA62 available in Australia. We have a three level water selector, Eco cycle options but no extra options switch.
Aus still has the traditional transmission but an electric drain pump to eliminate lint as we generally dry clothes on a clothes line.
Great video Lorain furniture is that new speed queen 2019
Upload a video of this washing clothes and buy the matching Speed Queen. dryer
I think speed queen comes close to old style maytags
Nice mustache
I heard roomers that the front loaders are returning!

Looks better.
This washer is better than the direct drive washers ?
In terms of long term reparability no but it lasts much longer from new.
The way you open it was funny
Thanks man 👍 :)
What's the best way to bypass the lid switch? I just bought the TC5 and want to bypass the switch.
Jack Belt just stick something in between the 2 metal things which are underneat the panel at the right side corner
of course i mean look behind the panel and underneath it and you will see what im talking about
Did you bypass the switch and if so are you able to have the lid up while the water is filling the tub initially? Also are you able to leave the lid open to presoak for a few hours.Thanks.
@@hunterfred9610 yup
Are you going to try and become a Speed Queen dealer again?
Just noticed, the tub isn't indexing?
ok i just bought this TC5000 , I can not find the max wash load weight for the cloths any place ?
TLC OXOX why worry about the weight?
Are you going to do the tomato sauce test on this model?
Eco cycle cold water only?
Why can't they make the tub bigger? It would be perfect if it could fit a fluffy queen comforter.
Go to a laundromat
Heh.. have you ever SEEN how big these tubs are? Ours handles a big thick queen comforter with room to spare.
Also, can anyone explain exactly how the lid switch is bypassed?
It's a simple 2 wire switch, just need to connect 2 wires together to complete the circuit.
huckbeduck or just stick a spacer or piece of paper into the switch for a “removable” option.
I talked my cousin into buying one of these today
Wash cycle looks good, rinse cycle is terrible! Spray rinse? How stupid is that?
Let the controversy begin lol
Lindíssimo! Eu queria uma dessas aqui em casa!
@@musicnerd72 Glad I got the 2017 then. I like to control the load size. They've been awesome so far.
@@AlanSieja I have a 2012 and still love it! The old manual controls give you more flexibility in my opinion.

The TC5000WN is the "PRODUCT CODE". The model number is AWN632SP116TW01. At least, that's what it says on the lid.
Tolkien wrote a book about this: THE RETURN OF THE KING. The worst of it is, though, even the much-maligned TR-series Speed Queen washers were better than almost anything else on the market. LG? GE? Just say NO!
And don't even get me started on Samsung!
@@jeromedavis8575 "somedung"?
My only problem with this washer is that it doesn't have a timer.
With the SQ, I just remember that I can start it with the 10:00 news and put my clothes in the dryer before bed at 11:00
5610winston ohhh yeah I didn't think of it like that
Why are you doing the speed queen when you can no longer sell them?
What’s the cu. ft. Of this washer?

Can I order or buy this machine at this time? Mine is broken and I only want this model. Currently taking my laundry to my son's house.
It will be more expensive by half or more than most big box store machines but it is one of the best values on the market at this time.
