Jesus said take up your cross and follow me…..
What exactly does that mean to "take up your cross?" It seems that everybody has their own idea of what that means.
I'm thinking that taking up your cross means you are willing to die for Jesus and the message of the Gospel. The cross represents dying with humility because of the glory it will bring. It represents giving up your own life (desires, ways, systems, ideas, ambitions, etc) to follow the will of God. His yoke is easy and light because we are not trying to carry the burden ourselves. It is easy and light because we trust God to fulfill His promise. If our goal is to die to self and live to Christ , you are free to live and serve God, and you won't serve sin. When Jesus is our goal instead of self it becomes natural to follow Him. It is no longer a "work" but a heart felt worship and service toward God. The old nature served self. The new nature serves Christ. It becomes a natural response to serve Christ when the old nature has died and the new has been born. The reason for sin in our life is because we haven't died to the old. As we carry our cross we are dying to self and serving Christ instead. Serving without dying is hypocrisy because then it is our own works of the flesh. Then, it is hard and heavy and you end up going nowhere. Matthew 6:22-23 shows us that if our desire and focus is Christ Himself, then the whole self is light. If our focus is divided between self and Christ we are still in darkness. Jesus said, first clean the inside of the cup (the heart) and the outside WILL BE clean. Works of the flesh can never clean the inside, but when Jesus cleans the inside, your works are holy and acceptable because they come out from the new nature that only Christ can GIFT to you!
Yes 🙌🏻 Amen! It’s a freedom in God’s promises, so our obedience is out of love ❤️ and faith in Christ Jesus 🙏🏻😇✝️ His Righteousness! Because His Holy Spirit guides and leads us when we crucify our flesh, daily! It is God working IN us, but we must surrender to Him daily; STAY IN HIS WORD & PRAYER with Him! The Bible is not only a history book, prophesy book, instruction book, but it’s the most AWESOME LOVE STORY EVER ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

It is so hard to wrap our minds around this concept because the world has convoluted the meaning of love. Loving God also means hating sin, and many try to live a sinful life pretending to "love" God, but they really love themselves more.

Please pray for my family...my daughter has been married only a week and her husband bought her a ticket to go to Honolulu to join him Dec 9th as he is in the navy. 3 days ago, he gave into his depression and took his own life 😢 😔 💔 😪 😞 we are in deep pain🙏😭😭😭

The Declaration of Independence summarizes the civic principles of American life and they are based on the Bible.
We were created for one purpose; choose and worship Jesus. There has to be a point when one realizes and accepts that this is a mortal world run by satan and we are eternal beings sent to earth, born as sinners in need of redemption from the one who sent us. It's about being faithful and obedient. If we go to Heaven we are expected to be faithful,obedient, loving Jesus, serving and worshiping Him for eternity. He knows your heart. stop deceiving yourself and self-justifying. Sin is sin. it has no measurement. We are all meant to fall short so Jesus can lift us up and bring us home. If you are a parent, you want your children to listen and be obedient without explaining, you want them to love you without having rewards first or because they are scared. You want them to follow where you lead them without fear or worry. You want the least of what our Father wants. You and your friends, spouse,children are all equal in the Fathers eyes. We are all His children. Stop wanting honor, give up pride, give in to Jesus and be faithful to Him. Each on of us needs to have our own personal relationship with Jesus, each one of us will be judged alone. Don't let your children alone with their devices. Step up and save them.
