Probably the best phone for using a DS emulator
EVERYONE says this but emulators arents going to be optimized for that. They are made for normal one screen phones. So unless you plan on making an emulator yourself you are going to get a far worse ds emulator.

"Why is there a flash" - I basically use the flash as a flashlight on my phone all the time, it'd be real dumb to exclude it imo.
Good point. I don't remember the last time I used flash in a photo (especially with the pixel's night sight), but I use it as a flashlight on a regular basis.

Go out and get an actual AAA flashlight to go in your pocket. I paid $20 for mine and it has more than paid for itself. I use it literally every single day. It also has the benefit of being a flashlight that you can point at things instead of a floodlight to just get some light every where.

i use my phone juggling between at least 2 apps constantly so a phone like this looks like its perfect for me. i want one very badly :)

Same. They looked really good actually and audio on them wasn’t that bad either. I think some reviewers get so caught up on specs and industry trends that they forget that a 2 cm bezel doesn’t ruin people’s days and neither does having a camera that doesn’t look as good as the new RED 8K cameras. For me, I use my camera for taking pictures of my work schedules and the occasional 1-off picture of something neat. Just don’t understand why reviewers don’t realize we don’t care about some of those things.
@@TriVoxel I couldnt care less about the camera. The argument for some of it though is the cost. But for Gen 1 you're paying for the R&D. Couple Gens down the road the price will either come down or the specs will come up. Preferably both.

Actually, that flash makes sense for one thing: scanning documents and getting even light, as someone using a business phone might want to do. Microsoft even has their own document scanning app and that, along with video conferences, may be all this camera is good for.
Flashlight on my phone is the only flashlight I own. Please don't take it away from us. If you remember when you used it last time it's very likely it was kind of emergency situation and you're glad you had that tool in your pocket.
Everything you mentioned as being the only thing the camera would be good for are exactly what Marques said the the camera would be good for.
I think using the camera side screen screen as the light source instead of the flash will give better results because of even distribution of light. Like how they brighten the screen while taking selfies. The other screen will be the viewfinder

I think the overall quality is good, but at this price point, it could've been better.

Marques is pretty spoiled with picture quality, he uses cameras that you would see at a movie studio, so of course the cameras would be garbage compared to the cameras he uses.

Whenever you do those POV shots holding a device at the top of a flight of stairs my anxiety goes to 100.

As someone said it's the thickness. You need room for resonance to have a good speaker and this is too thin to get that. That's why it has no bass and sound tinny. You can have all the y axis you want but without some z you'll sound tinny all day.

Thanks, Marques. After watching your review, I'm convinced MSFT didn't make this phone for the usual consumer. This is focused on enterprise customers. The camera is adequate for video calls and document scanning. The speakers are good for video calls. The two screens are for true work multitasking. Microsoft 365 is optimized and the price is high enough for businesses. We weren't meant to buy this to play Xbox Game Pass...only.
Really appreciate your honest feedback.

I feel like everyone's review of this will be the same. "If you're the productivity guy, you'll love it! If you're anyone else... You're probably not going to like it." I'm the productivity guy so I'm really excited for the Duo but I see why lots of folks would be not into it.

Evidently you wasn't paying attention. The software hiccups? This thing cost $1400 and there is no way I would pay $1400 for this. I already had looked at the specs and seen it wasn't worth $1400. The thing is this is being sold as a phone. Example, there are people who have tablets whether Android or an IPad and those people are not really that concerned with how the pics look because they have an Android or IPhone with a good camera and uses it for photos anyways. But this is a phone and if the camera is garbage what's the use. Like I said if it was just a tablet then maybe but the software hiccups is still a no for me. Also it doesn't have enough ram for the multitasking. Samsung puts 12gb ram in their flagships and you don't hear people talking about their phones lagging any more.

7:16 swiftkey literally have a keyboard layout called "thumbs" where it splits the keyboard in half for each thumb, originally used for larger phones in landscape mode

I just love the features and this phone. I am used to Microsoft Office 365 apps and Teams for my project. Having it on different screens will make it more easier to accomplish a lot of things.
