    We hung 42 of these four years ago for a customer in his 4-plexes.
    Not one has failed. Several had broken glass fixtures from careless renters, two had blades snapped off in fights, but the fans themselves - not one failure.
    And, yes, they were less than $25/unit at the local box store.

    I’ve had one of these in my bedroom for many years. While the bearing noise never really goes away and the chains on the pull-cords like to clank up against the light cover, it’s a very good ceiling fan for the little room I use it in.

    • @JordanU
      @JordanU  Год назад +2

      That's unfortunate, I was really hoping the noise would dissipate after a few hours of operation.

      My house originally had 4 fans and they were all littletons, the one in my bedroom was the only one that didn’t have a defect, the globe on my sister’s Littleton broke because I hit it with a trash can, my mom’s wobbled so bad that it scraped against the motor very loudly because 2 blades were bent, the one in my office had a pull chain issue and eventually it was only 1 speed, it was low or off, mine was fine and had absolutely no issues and blew a decent breeze, I thought it was ridiculous that mine got replaced with the others because my grandma wanted it to match the others

    I had 2 of these; one in my parent's room and one in my room. The one in my parent's suffered a broken blade in 2018 and the one in my room almost burned down my house in 2020. I will try my 3rd attempt at buying one without it breaking (I don't think it will). That would go in the office at my house or the guest room. For sure the guest room because it would look better.

    Also manufacturers stopped putting screw head markings on the light kit screws as many people would damage the glass by over tightening them. They never were supposed to do that with the screws as many companies didn’t do it until they started doing so with the school house fixtures sold separately. That’s why they don’t do it anymore to prevent people from over tightening it.

    I bought a littleton a while back to install in the guest room. It works okay,especially since it is the cheapest fan you can get, but I feel like the $40 that I spent on it could have cone towards a much better used fan, but my mother wanted new. It works okay, but not great although it isn't used for much besides for the light 99% of the time anyway. Of course the LED bulb it came with went directly in the trash.

    • @JordanU

      The 40 dollars is much better spent on a used one that's old, but as you encountered, not everyone wants an old one.

    I put one of these in my nephew's room in '15 or so, cause I wanted the 52" Hunter (plus the room only needed a 36"-42" fan), and it's actually been surprisingly good and quiet. Also, my neighborhood liquor store has two of these over the front counter, with the bleached oak side showing...they have the schoolhouse shades installed, but I've yet to see the lights on.
    Also, you just demonstrated the reason why they included that extra screw! 😉 (I'm only joking. I mean no disrespect!).

Definitely not a good product but for the price it’s not bad. As long as you get one with no bearing noise it’s a decent product for what it is.

Bizzarely many people have the same experience as me. But many have an experience like you. And I can clearly see that yours is working better because I see your hair moving. Sometimes manufacturers contract the same product to different factories at, and it could be that pitch of the blades differs on my model vs yours. /shrug. Anyway, mine is going back.
