  • In Episode 29 Bugsy takes us fishing as Sydney moves into winter. The pelagics are slowing down and becoming a lot more work to catch. This video shows shore jigging techniques and how to cook a tempura and sashimi dinner. Rock fishing is dangerous. Only fish when the conditions are safest and wear appropriate safety gear including rock spikes/cleats and a lifejacket. Enjoy!

    hey mate... to stop tempura and battered things from sticking... with tongs, lightly wave the piece through oil to "seal" it for a few seconds before letting it go. this will harden the outer layer and it wont stick

    Hey Bugsy, I love your videos and how your footage looks. If you haven't already, could you do a video on your gear and how you film yourself fishing. I'd love to see what you do and stuff like your gopro settings and where you mount the camera. Thanks and tight lines.

    I was literally fishing just a hop skip and a throw from there today and came up with a 55cm Bonito on that exact same maria reprise 😂 Wasn't sure if there what the size limit was for bonitos so mine lived to see another day. Awesome recipes btw mate 💪

      No way! Seems like that is the size lately. Not many of them but good sized fish. Your one might reach the 1m mark!

    What rod and reel for bonitos you reckon bro ?

    • @bugsyfishing
      @bugsyfishing  12 дней назад +1

      My go to gear is a 6000 size reel with PE3 braid and a rod around the 10 foot mark rated the same as the line. This gives you some scope to land the odd bigger by-catch here and there. I like the Oceans Legacy Specialist rod in PE2-4. I think it is 9'8"

    Whats the optimal technique to fish a bonito?

      I think an erratic jig is hard to beat
