Having flown both, the A380 is just too good of an aircraft. That combined with the service and food at emirates, Emirates makes economy feel like a higher class while Qatar is like any other airline.

    • @KOKOBC

Having flown in emirates first class(dxb-lax) and business class(bxx-dxb) on the a380 and Qatar airways q suites 2 times between lax to Doha, and their first class once, I find that Qatar offers a far better business class than emirates and I would honestly argue that they offer better food than emirates first class. Personally I’m not a big fan of caviar and I don’t drink alcohol so it honestly doesn’t make much of a difference when it comes to emirates. Sure showers and more privacy and bigger seats are great but it’s really more excessive than necessary. Also personally I liked Qatar airways first class lounge more simply for it’s architectural beauty and quietness, but I would say that food is better on emirates lounges with wagyu burgers and gourmet meals. Also the quiet rooms in Qatar lounge was far better but then again emirates gives you the option for a free hotel room so it kind of evens out but I would’ve preferred if it was inside the lounge. Also there’s obviously the value, overall the Qatar flight was about 60% the price of the first class flight on emirates from personal experience which is quite balanced I would say. Overall I think flying Qatar business is thee way to go and I plan on using them in the future for connections from lax. Personally I have never flown economy on either airline so I can’t comment on that but for premium cabins I think Qatar wins

One big reason for Emirates’s strategy is their hub airport in Dubai. It only has 2 runways so they can’t just add more flights like Qatar. Emirates instead has to add seats through airplane size. Another difference is that Emirates focuses on having first and buisness class on the same planes when Qatar has gone with having a more advanced business class.

However, you are right, it does feel like a bargain flying in, either, Emirates Airlines, or Qatar Airways, and both are worth each and every flight they operate!!

I love the “it worked pretty well… until recently…” and now that travel has picked up Emirates are doing super well. Hell most Emirates A380s I’ve been on recently have been more or less fully booked, especially in the premium cabins

Not to take away from the content, but not mentioning how Emirates will change up its fleet in the coming years with the A350, B787 and B777-X orders is somewhat strange. I would think that’s quite relevant.

Nice video Dan! BTW, Is or was Thai not the number 1 airline operating the most different aircraft types?

I honestly dont care that Qatar has the newest A350-1000 and the 787 and whatever - i can get the A350 and 787 on tons of other airlines.
Meanwhile, Emirates has over 100 A380s. And barely any airlines at all operate A380s today

Fun fact: Qatar Airways used to be the sponsor of FC Barcelona and Emirates is and was the sponsor of it’s rival Real Madrid.

I'm a crew from QR, I have been trained for all A/C type except 380 (A320-200-300 /A321 /A330-200-300 /A350-900-1000 /B787-8-9 /B777-200-300 ). It's so easy to get confused and forget when you not really fly some certain aircraft type for a while. Therefore, I always have to restudy about aircraft emergency equiment type and location every time before the flight

In the case of Emirates, the one should not forget of FlyDubai with its fleet of smaller machines. Being essentially parts of the same company, they supplement each other. Thank you for your video.

While the demand has dropped off, most airlines have reduced flights. My trips to the UAE have still been on crowded aircraft, especially the legs into Dubai.

ive never flown any other airline besides Qatar Airways, they can literally fly you into the middle of nowhere as long as there's an airport to land, whilst giving you quality service and affordable prices, and also when your Qpoints reach a certain threshold you can book free flights
