- On July 25th 2018 I got a letter in the mail and it was from Jon Koppenhaver aka. War Machine. After getting to know him more and spending a lot time talking to him I started to see what life in prison has done to Jon. His regrets, his apologies, his new found faith. In an upcoming Interview/Documentary we will look deeper into seeing if prison changed former UFC & Bellator MMA fighter Jon Koppenhaver and his feelings toward ex girlfriend Christy Mack.

The way he couches it, it's like Christie was cheating on him, when *actually* they'd broken up and she'd moved out 3 months prior into her own apartment (rage face kept a key). Corey was not "in the wrong place at the wrong time", he was absolutely entitled to be exactly where he was... The only thing wrong here was his control issues and a home invasion. For all this guff about a renewed man, his language and attitude show he still does not get it and likely never will.

@@garden5137 They were probably still together though. There's pics of them together up to one week before this happened and she texted him nudes the very same day the attack went down. Also check out the nurse's report where her story drastically changes. The rape story came out of nowhere after talking to the DA. He's a pro fighter he could have killed her with his bare hands if he had wanted so I don't buy the "she'd be dead" bit either. Not saying she deserved to get beat like that but she's not the angel she portrayed herself to be in court. Jon might be telling the truth: she might just be a hoe that got caught and was butthurt afterwards. The truth is probably somewhere in between their two versions.

It just reminds us that many women make these decisions with emotions rather than logic. She’s heard him take partial responsibility and find god etc and focuses on that rather than his inability to accept full responsibility for what he did that night. Keith Christie I’m not American so cannot comment. I’m Australian and in some cases we would welcome sentencing like you have in America. Murderers here struggle to do 20 yrs amongst other vile crimes. Non the less his crimes were terrible and the type of person who I believe would do it again if not incarcerated

Fractured rib, ruptured liver 10 broken bones including cheek bone and sexual assault, they'd already broken up and she was with someone else.So he turns up at HER HOUSE beats him up,he runs away,holds her hostage in her own home and carried out the assaults.

you never can tell with these guys. they often talk a good game and are better actors than we give them credit for. we want to give them the benefit of the doubt knowing that we're probably foolish for doing so. i could play armchair psychiatrist and say steroids played a part, too, and be closer to being correct than not, but since he's the one in prison i hope for his sake he's not talking bullshit.

it seems that we can say he's these things and we're probably pretty close to the gist of it, but all we can do is hope that for his sake he's not talking out his ass. were he back in the real world, you'd be a fool to fall for it.
I think his dysfunctional back round was definitely the catalyst for his behavior. Most domestic abusers are narcissist or sociopaths and I agree he is definitely trying to sell people on his finding religion. With these people it's words and deeds. They say one thing but do another.

I sympathise with you for experiencing any type of abuse, it is awful, whether mental or physical but often with these types of people they do both, some of them suffer from a mental illness like anti-social personality disorder (psychopathy), narcissism or schizoprenia for the more paranoid.
However, there are a percentage of monsters made. Women and men severely abused can become severely broken. Once they have committed an act of violence, they most certainly should be punished, but I must give a shout out to all those kind care workers who work to try to heal those severely abused and mentally damaged. As some people CAN be reformed.
But please don't take me wrong and start being nice to abusers, they need professional help and it is a professional who would know whether they can or can't be rehabilitated.
In this case he does seem to have wanted to kill her, and would likely have done but I cannot be 100%, but it's bloody likely I am so glad she ran away the poor girl. HE had attacked others in pretty gruesome ways let us not forget.
But the cycle of violence must end, instead of perpetuating violence, which breeds even more hate and violence we need to improve mental health services for young people who are being or have been abused. We must not forget that sometimes perpetrators were once victims. We must give them the proper support and a chance to heal to help others and themselves.
