I thought for a long time that 1970 was the first time I saw this choir. It was during my first tour of duty in Germany, and I turned the TV to a German channel and saw them accompanying Anneliese Rothenberger in Mozart's "Laudate Dominum". It wasn't until I heard about them working with Carl Orff that I realized I had first heard them in 1966 during my first year of college when I listened to Orff's "Schulwerk", which they recorded under the composer's direction. I'll admit that I didn't listen to all of it since most of the music seemed to be young kids whacking on blocks and xylophones.

Carl Orff hatte eine gute Beziehung zum Tölzer Knabenchor und wusste um deren Qualität. Erfreulich seine Werke traditionsbewusst weiter zu pflegen.
