Significantly smaller than the heavy cruisers, but with equal fire power. I'd always imagined that Starstalker was the design that the Romulains were trying to duplicate with their bird of prey. Presumably there was no anti-cloak treaty at this time, so why not a cloak? They had 2 by this time captured (1 from the Romulans and 1 from the Klingons). Why not try hull polarization in concert with shields for armoring? Plus they DID eventually make a ship like this ... the Defiant class once armoring was available.

The spine hump adds strength but covers most of the black part of the nacelles which to me are where the two nacelles need most line of sight. In canon the Magee was made for that. The Oberth nacelles were not. Compare the nacelle exposure of the Stingray to the Defiant. It would cut down on crew space but add the Excelsior second hull cutout to the top of the Oberth canoe then you could have shuttle bay out the back and another torpedo at the front or flip the nacelles to the underside and bring them forward turning it into a manta ray. It is just personal preference but the hump on the back covers to much of the nacelles. No look at the Oberth it doesn't have a lot blocking the nacelles however it does seem flimsy. The design looks good from front and above.@@TriAngulumAudioStudios
Nahhh I 100% disagree! The design is perfect as is, and shows lineage towards classes such as the Defiant! And I learned long ago you can't please 100% of the people 100% of the time! So you're definitely entitled to your own opinion, however, Im glad the majority disagrees with you and loves the design as it is! Take care!
