Hey James, I actually like the aux controls not showing up on the console when using Universal Control from a device. I'm the drummer. I keep my iPad running UC on a stand beside my hats so I can make adjustments on the fly to my monitor mix without interrupting what might be going on with the mixer from the booth. My wife mixes in the booth and if I were to monkey with what she is doing I might not get dinner after church on Sunday. Yes I know there is an app for this called QMix-UC. I have it on my phone, I've tried to use it, I don't like it. With my iPad I can tweak my monitor mix easy-peasy, mid-song if needed. Thanks for your videos.
Really handy for the platform or wandering around the sanctuary listening to the mix. Monitor mix at the platform with monitor wedges is absolutely a winner. thanks James.
Thank you for this video series - I am contemplating a 32R as a rack mounted monitor mixer with a splitter for FOH. Very useful to see an expert walk through the virtual control surfaces.
good afternoon colleague, your work on your videos is very high quality, merry christmas, and I would like to ask you to shoot a video lesson on the topic of compression and limiter of the bus master in live sounds and EQ room correction. Thank you very much for your efforts dear friend, this really helps many novice young guys))
Universal Control is a great app. You can control the mixer running it on multiple machines and/or tablets simultaneously. In addition to the computer, I have a tablet in Meter mode sitting on the mixer. Also another person on an iPad mixing Aux sends to our RUclips broadcast mix.
The person mixing the auxes for youtube on the iPad... How are they monitoring the audio since you can't hear audio through the iPad with UC Control Surface?
Great overview video! I have a 32R planning to use as our main gigging mixer but am kind of a beginner on this app. I’m wondering if you would do a video on how to add effects only on the app? Or perhaps point me to some current videos. All the other UC vids I found are like 6-8 years old. Thank you for the great content!
On the sends section over on the right side, select "FX A" to send the channels to the effects unit. Then it'll come back on the FX return faders on your main layer.
Thank you James for your videos. I am getting ready to setup a new 64S and was wondering about channel presets. I know with the first gen Presonus SL 24.4.2 they had presets. I am still looking for this on the series 3 consoles, I may just have not looked in the right place.
I'm puzzled as to why you're using Universal Control instead of Studio One Pro or Artist. Wouldn't that be a better choice since the mixer and the software are both Presonus products?
This is Gary Conder. At our church I use Universal Control to mis the Livestream for Utube. I have a question. We have a 64S. On the mixer button can the effects across the top be taken off. I swear I thought they were. It just started. I dont remember it on the top. I was just asking. Thanks
Hi James, I hope you are well. I hope my message will reach you ok. God bless you for all you do. Please we do have a Presonus Studiolive 32SX and for the past two months, we have been having issues with audio playback, streaming issues, scenarios where Studio One and Capture or any other DAW fails to recognize the mixer. During Live streaming, the audio cuts off where no audio goes out. If we are recording using Capture of Studio One, recording stops or it continue to do so but no audio from that point onwards. I have watched videos, optimized the PC, bought extra RAM, done a complete refresh of Windows 11. Please can you suggest anything? PC Specs AMD Ryzen 5 5600G MSI B550M Pro VDH Motherboard 64GB Ram 512GB Nvme Drive Nvidia GeForce 1650 4GB Graphics Windows 11 Pro.
I tried to set some USB sends on my church's Presonus 24R but I couldn't receive them properly on OBS Studio. Maybe I need to do some firmware updates. I did exactly the same configuration that I did on a Behringer X32 and there it worked. Did you know about some bug related to this?
Hi James, how can I use Waves plugins using UC app? I need to run a vocal rider in one of the mic for brothers and sisters which they voice tone are too low . Thank you
UC is just remote control of the console. You'll have to use USB "inserts" to a host program like Live Professor, SuperRack Performer, or a DAW to run the plugin on your channels.
I really want to understand routing better on my studiolive rack 24r. We are broadcasting to an aux mix but I cannot figure o it how to set up studio one to capture that output instead of the main. I also cannot figure out how to get the aux mix to the headphone out
In Universal Control, hit the gearwheel to get to the settings page, and then click "Digital Patching" and then the tab underneath is "USB sends"... hopefully that points you in the right direction!
@@AttawayAudio seems like s1 only ever works with the digital return usb send on the main fader… I’m trying to figure out how to monitor this aux mix in real time… still don’t quite understand how to do this. the phones drop down on the main UC page where you pick edit the remote device permissions offers mix 1 - mix 12…. what does that translate to? Is this what you call a flex mix and if so how do I know which flex mix is my usb send 1&2 which is currently set to my aux mix 15&16?
@@eldunari6359 I can’t believe it… I installed with my user, but the program only existed on my admin user 🤦♂️ that was one of the weirdest experiences in a program I’ve ever had to deal with lol. Luckily, all was well in the end XD

You're welcome! iPad mixing really opens up a lot of options
Thanks for the video. I don't use a real soundboard, but you never know when someone will want you to step into that role, great knowledge value.

Hi, please make a video for IEM setup settings for studio live III especially for Bass guitar. 🙏
Great video, u can choose Names to be synced when naming stereo channels, for L&R, it doesn't do it by default
I watch all your vids I learn a lot from them….
I was on the fence about subscribing but did so immediately because of your don't ring the bell comment
can you make an educative video..on powering up equipments, size of power cables, power of generator and many more in regards to electricty. Thank you
Hi, love your videos. Can you please do a video on, how to use Pipleline with Studio One and Studiolive 32. Thanks George.
The ICONS are useful for grouping, is important.
Love your videos! Thanks for your teaching! Whats the screen resolution on this video? Thank you

Where is the RESET button for the EQ?
Is it possible to have a separate mix with a PC connected to PreSonus StudioLive 32SC via Audio Network cable??
Really helpful video. Thanks

It can be tricky... but make sure your digital outputs 1/2 on the presonus are set to come from your mix bus, not channels 1 & 2.
Is there a way to hide inactive channels? Basically like setting a User layer on the board.
not that I'm aware of

Edit the monitor settings with the button below the headphone level knob. Then hit solo on the mix you want to listen to.
Is there a way to montor all input gain levels on one screen?
Yes - go to Settings gearwheel > Device Mode > Meter
How do I get to the phat channel on Universal control?
settings gearwheel, then select that tab
I’ve downloaded it, but can’t open it… it shows it’s there on my computer. But why can’t I open it???
It only opens when the device is connected.. check all Firewalls/Antivirus etc. I had some firewalls blocking connection.. cheers
