MAN!!!! I have been waiting for a walk-through that shows step by step step with audio routing. Thank you so much. This was very helpful. Could you do one show how to monitor the broadcast feed?
Thanks for this awesome vidéo. We're planning a livestream for Christmas celebrations, and we've done our first field test last Sunday, and the sound was perfect! Thanks for all the great tips !
Joe .... this video is a gold mine of precious information! Yesterday i was trying to connect my Studiolive 24 Series III to OBS but i was going mad because i was not getting any audio from sources connected to channels >2 and here you come with this magic hint to create the matrix mix to route everything to out 1 & 2! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!
Hey! When you apply the digital routing to USB 1 and 2, is that unique to just the selected matrix mix? Meaning, do you have to change it back to Ch 1 and Ch2 when you're done streaming and go back to using it as an audio interface into your DAW? I literally just got my mixer, so I'm a bit turned around on this...
Awesome , not many people are able to such a quick and precise explanation. It really helped me to understand another great feature regarding Presonus StudioLive 24. Thank you Joe.
Awesome video! Probably the best streaming video I've seen. I use a Presonus Studio 192 with addition Digimax interfaces in my studio but after seeing this, I'm going to upgrade to the StudioLive mixer!!
Sorry if this has been commented somewhere before, but I'm having issues. Running a 32SX into either OBS or vMix. I am using FlexMix channels 3 and 4, set to Matrix mixes and routed to USB 1&2 respectively. Everything else is set as is seen here. Where I come off the rails is setting up the input into the streaming software. Go to sources, add input capture, and the drop down menu only gives me the option of "StudioLive WDM 1/2 (StudioLive 32SX), or 3/4, 5/6, 7/8, or I can choose a "StudioLive Series III ASIO", among a host of other potential inputs. I'm not getting the simple "StudioLive Insert model here" as is shown in the video. The computer is only recognizing those individual channels, and not a mix down. If I try to turn "Interface Mode" on, it disables FlexMixes. If I try to turn "USB Compatibility" mode on, nothing changes in the streaming software. Firmware is updated on the board. I tried turning off Exclusivity mode in the sound settings. I'm sure I'm just overlooking something, but I sure can't find what it is. Any help would be appreciated.
Joe - thanks very much for this and going overboard into OBS. Most helpful. Will give this a try in Studio Series III 32SX. For anyone curious as to how the Limiter is added to the M1, simply tap the Select Button above Master Fader. Then tap the Limiter section on the LCD. LCD now shows the Limiter option.
Thank you Joe. This was very helpful. I've been mystified by how people stream live, and you made it very easy to understand. Although I'm still using the 'ancient' StudioLive 16.0.2 I think it will still work in a similar manner to your method.
Thank you so much Joe!!! Our church has the 32 mixer and i am learning how to live stream our sunday service. We are just using mevo cameras and app software right now but i can see how we can move forward in the future. I will focus on the aux out of the board to the app input for a nice sound. So much to learn. Thank you for the tips. I will put them to work this Sunday!😁
Joe how much for a one on one session. I have the exact board and trying to do the exact things. This was extremely helpful but would love to get a more in-depth class on the studio live.
Great stuff the OBS link was awesome. Thanks for that, Dont't have Studio Live have Studio one, will look more into that for stream integration. Thanks again.
A note to StudioLive 64S users: The Matrix Mix option is only available on FlexMixes 17-32. Aux and Subgroup options are available for every FlexMix. ;)
THANK YOU! I have been having audio issues while streaming and your video has been very helpful. I am hoping to purchase a Presonus StudioLive 32SC in 2024.
Hi, I enjoyed this video. I’m run the sound at church, but the streaming video doesn’t sound nice. Do you have a pdf file that I can use as a guide. I would love to have something like that. We using presonus live 32 chanels.
This is a great tutorial. I am however stuck with getting audio into OBS. I noticed that when you speak, there is a signal being into the 3 and 4 track of your board. Mine originally was doing that but for track 13 and 14 but now it isn't showing any similar type of signal. I still get a signal for the Mx 1 and tested the audio monitoring mx1 and heard sound but nothing goes out to OBS on computer. Can you help me out please?
We are also using OBS and PreSonus in our church for our live streams. It is very challenging if your computer doesn't have a firewire. So our workaround is to have our sound guy connect the 3.5mm main output jack on our PC that runs obs. He also made a TRS-9 cable that allows us to use Facebook live straight to our mobile phone
@10:05 instead of adding the audio input to every scene .. would it be ok if we use the mic/aux input located in the obs settings audio tab titled global audio device ? thIs is acceptable because it is the studio live mixer that will be sending all and everything audio related even if it for the welcome scene.
Thank you Joe.. If possible and if you know how.. Could you please make a video on how to set up your phone to take calls using this StudioLive? I use one too for my online radio show and am having trouble finding anyone or any information on how to do so.. Thank you in advance
Thanks Joe. We use the hybrid version of studiolive at church but I still picked up a couple things. Sending all channels across USB was the primary reason we went with Presonus. The board is mixed for the sanctuary but then I have full control in StudioOne what goes out to the stream. Been getting praise from our virtual congregation since we installed it.
Hi Joe…I have a question regarding the actual physical hookup of your equipment there…I watched this video over a dozen times to follow your directions, but I’m haven’t quite reached the aim of getting the clean sound from the board into the livestream. Would you be willing to assist with a remote walk through to help us get our sound right? We are using Webcast as our livestream platform.
I finally saw how this works. There needs to be a slider marked M1...MAIN MIX turn up to +5 and FAT process is with a limiter. Now we'll find the MIX with M1 and get this into USB 1 and USB 2 to the OBS computer. OBS is generally pretty friendly. In 2020 with covid trying to get church online was a huge challenge.
I’ve been looking to upgrade my audio interface and came across these mixers. How do they compare to say grabbing an Audiofuse or Audient recording interface? I was also looking for a control surface so this looks enticing thx!
Any chance you could do an addendum to this video using the Universal Control software mixer and a Presonus interface... a Studio 192 for example? Great video Joe!!
My church uses the 64 channels but our sound both main house and livestream is not really good. Is there a way to help me improve upon it. Your videos are very helpful. Thank you
Hey man thanks for this, i only wanted to send the one channel and tht works but the fader doesnt do anything and i can still hear it. any way to make this send post the fader? any help would be greatly appreciated
Hi, I hope you get my message. I'm desperately in need of help. I have a studiolive live 32.4.2 ai. I want to set up a DAW for livestreaming. But I don't know where to start. PLEASE HELP! Thank you!
Thanks so much for this and all your videos. They've helped me so much! Can the USB go to a hub so that one PC can use the audio to stream and another can record on capture?
Hi joe I love live-streaming, but I do not have a studio one mixer all I have is IoStation 24c , audiobox 96, studio one 5 pro and my streaming service is Streamyard How do I make all of that work together so I have a much professional stream Plus all I have is 2 laptops? I love my preSonus products I just want it to work all together. Cheers, Will Starr
Great info. Thank you. It seems if we power on our computer with OBS before we power on our SX32 wired with usb, we get no audio. If we power on the SX32 after after the SX32 we get sound. Should the power up order it matter?
Joe, Excellent and timely post! Sadly, I currently am running a SL32 generation one...or I guess series one. We probably took a more complicated path, but ran 8 auxes to a 1824C mixer and then used its USB to connect to VoiceMeeter and then to OBS. Where should I introduce the limiter?
Perfect timing running in to this video. I'm looking at getting a StudioLive Series III 24. Probably overkill for what I need since it's just me but it seems like a really good deal.
Hi, Thank you so much for sharing. My church has SL 32.4.2.ai. It does not have the matrix mix. Is there any alternative to do something similar? Thank you, Michael
in OBS, to simplify your audio to every scene, I create my first scene with the audio and anything else that might need to be in other scenes, then I duplicate that scene and rename as many scenes as I might need.
I have a 1602 and selected ch15/16 as the stereo mix in the setup window but no audio appears on those channels, maybe I'm missing something. I've been connecting the mix out to another interface for streaming.
Thanks for helpful info! we're going to stream a live concert from our club scene. I wonder if the FOH and matrix mix will be the same? The Matrix mix will then not carry any of the acoustic sound of e.g. drums.....?
Have you ever done a livestream going into usb-c port in a newer model macbook pro? I have all drivers and software updated. Ill get good clear audio for windows of time, then it will drop out or be glitchy intermittently.
‘“Loopback” is a bit of software you can run on the computer that acts as a virtual sound card - in the event you need to blend all sorts of audio (including different usb inputs) and audio sources, it’s really helpful. It’s $99. BUT if anyone finds themselves in a situation needing “diff ways of getting diff sources” into obs, or other streaming software. It’s just a built more “elegant” than the obs options etc.
Thanks for sharing this video. We have a problem with my audio with the Presonus Studio Live 24.4.2AI using Focusrite as audio interface. We can't get audio into the streaming. Please help. Thank you
You'll need an extra piece of software to do the routing inside the computer. Something like Loopback from Rogue Amoeba. The AI mixers are quite different from this one so you'll have to play around with it to figure out the best way to get it to work. (That's how I did it back with my original 24.4.2!!) - Joe Gilder
Hi Joe, I'm hoping you can help me. I'm using 2 audio interfaces to stream my Studio One sessions to Facebook via OBS. The connections work great. However, I remember watching another video you posted about Mp3 and how to correct the bit rate. In a similar way , I love the sound of the Daw. However, when I playback the Facebook stream, it sounds like a bad MP3 recording. Please advise... I hope I'm making sense lol
Hi, I been watching you and you have made my music way better, I got a question, if you creat an output channel on the presonus mixer and mix just only on the board how do you export the final mix as a stereo
Hi! Great vid!!!! Question for you. I have a presonus AB USB 96 and want to use it with an old mixer to use on a Zoom conference call. Our 4 piece band wants to sound good and someone told us we can plug the Audiobox straight into our mixer and then straight to the computer. Any thoughts? Thanks =))))
