@@angkear6267 I tried to explain to someone on reddit that the plot of Mushoku Tensei is that it's a story about Rudeus and his life from his birth to his death. That person (and the person you responded to as well) seems to think that people should be sexless robots with no libido. They think that sex is not a natural part of everyone's life, and therefore it being an important part of Rudeus' life is inevitable. They think that any mention of sex or lust in regard to romance is wrong and immoral somehow.

they kinda skipped over an important part. The gang was deciding what to do with rudy (since he hadnt even eaten for 1-2 weeks). In the end, it was Elinalise who brought up that Roxy should try to help Rudy. Since they cut it in the anime, now it just kinda looks like Roxy was taking advantage of him
Time constraint. I think they conveyed it somewhat well with Rudy's hollow cheeks, but you're right.
I personally like more the idea of Roxy having that idea because it gives her more control over her actions and creates a more complex person by making mistakes even if they are well intentioned.
They didn't really cut it per say. Like it happened a few times already the anime just give some space for interpretation to the viewer.
It is mentionned at some point that the party were at such a loss they were about to leave him behind (which is probably why she acted like this, a desperate last attempt at bringing him back).
Add to that Elinalise's reaction when they exit the bedroom "Roxy, did you?.."
(managed to get him back to normal? slept with him? spent the whole night talking some sense into this guy? just performed a freaking miracle?)
The sentence being cut allows to interpret it in different ways but the reaction shows that she was aware of when Roxy went there to talk with him.
Plus they travelled together during his ED arc so she too, knows how he is when feeling bad, leading to some girl talks putting things into motions.
Also Rudy's face shows very well he's been not eating and probably also lacks sleep.
There's enough clues to put the pieces together really.
It looked more like she was "ready to break their bond if that ment saving him from himself at that moment" which is a very selfish behavior but not unheard of in that kind of situation, rather than straight up taking advantage of him just to be a homewreaker. Because clearly, she is stopping him the other times they could have a chance and already look resigned to this being the only acceptable outcome, until HE made a move. (and even then she ask for confirmation of his wife's approval, so she's still ready to leave if her presence becomes a nuisance)

She didn't. I was just reading this volume the other day.
They suggested that someone take Rudy to brothel or that Elinalise sleep with him. The brothel idea was shot down, and Elinalise said no to the latter on account of Cliff and not wanting to cross that line with Rudy. Roxy took it upon herself after realizing that they were just going to wait for Rudy to get better on his own.

As much as I adore Rudy and Sylphie, Roxy is also S tier and I 100% understand why Rudy made the decision he made. What's more is the fact that even auntie Elinalise approves. Those offput by the whole polygamy thing need to A, realize this is fiction, and B, realize that this isn't the same world we live in.
Hell, people need to realize that in feudal societies, nobles having multiple women was VERY common. And yes, as a Greyrat, Rudeus IS a noble, albeit one at the lowest tier until and unless he gets recognition from higher authority.
Honestly the fact that he was so hesitant and didnt jump at the idea as soon as he was presented with this situation is already great character development

It's expanded in the novel that Rudy has been drinking water but for the 10 days after paul's death he didn't eat, he'd throw back up anything they tried to feed him. He would leave the room. Roxy went out to the bar with Elinalise, Geese and (I think) Talhand. This is where they told her he was married, Elinalise said that the only way to get him out of his rut was to sleep with someone. Roxy asked why Elinalise hadn't/wouldn't and Geese wanted to take him to the brothel. Roxy knew it was gonna have to happen no matter what and since she loved Rudy she would rather it be her. Roxy wasn't so forward however. She never climbed on him or anything it was Rudy that initiated after Roxy made it clear she was okay with it and was here explicitly to comfort him. Not sure if it's immediately after or the next morning but Rudy spills his guts to her. He tells her the story of his past life under the excuse that it was the story of someone else he met. Fully mentioning the death and reincarnation.
Give it up to Elaine for giving expert advice on how to treat depression. Same treatment is good for headaches, boredom, and insomnia.

Anyway, I think the biggest mistake the anime did was not properly explain Rudeus' state. I saw too many people in the episode's comments who don't get the reason for the gaunt face and think he was just sad (and thought no time had passed). When the truth is he had spent almost two weeks sleep deprived from nightmares, he puked everything he tried to eat and was slowly starving to death. There was no returning without Rudeus power either. If Roxy didn't do what she did he would have died there. All the studio had to do was show Rudeus puking his food and show a speeded up day night cycle to explain many days had passed. That way people would have understood the gravity of the situation.
Really, the feel of that event in the book was similar to when a group of stranded people have to eat their dead to survive. It's reproachable, but understandable. I at least couldn't blame them for what they did. Otherwise Rudeus would have returned inside and urn too...

I think you needed to explain that whole scene where everyone is sitting around talking about how to help Rudy get over Paul's death better. First of all, Geese, Tallhand, Elinalise, and Roxy were all there. Geese was asking Elinalise why she couldn't help Rudy, that's when Roxy learns about him being married with a kid on the way. Then when none of them want to do anything to help Rudy, that's when Roxy decides that she's the only one that can comfort him.

It wasn't Elinalise who initially gave the idea in the light novel. It was Geese. He mentioned the option of getting lucky after taking a look at Elinalise. Then the conversation moved in that direction. No idea if it was different in the web novel, but I always see the light novel as the final version.

Important to remember Roxy’s state of mind here as well. The anime perhaps doesn’t depict this as well in real time as it does after the matter but Roxy was delirious for a month eating poisonous flesh to stay alive. Rudy saved her and not long after she went right back into the fray to fight the hydra and also witnessed Paul die alongside everyone else. Her mental state although not as fragile as Rudy’s given the circumstances is also going to be very unstable when this episode takes place. Important context.

Won't lie, I am genuinely curious how this scene even went down. Not in a perverted sense, but morbid curiosity because of Rudy's mindset and Roxy embracing what she had to witness with the elf lady all those trips.
The only thing we got on that in the LN was that Rudy was very rough with her. He pushed her down on the Bed in a non gentle way (in the anime Roxy pulled Rudy back) and then he thought to himself that he maybe has to blow off some anger right there.
It was further explained that he was rough and as soon a he woke up felt the need to apologize to her. Roxy took it like a champ and endured everything Rudy did to her.
There are some similarities to the first night with Sylphie. He went rough on her too but that was becasue of the Potion Sylphie gave him to cure his ED. Sylphe endured everything as well.
I got a feeling that if he would meet Eris again and something similar would happen that this time Rudy has to be the one to endure it :D
Eris was always physically superior compared to Rudy and now that she is training her sword skills for years this difference should be even greater.

well to be fair Elinalise didn't suggests that Rody should spend the night with Roxy, the gang came to the conclusion that Rudy needed to sleep with a woman, Elinalise said that she's not an option and asks Geese to take Rudy to a brothel but they discard that idea because in order for it to work there must be a connection between the two individuals, so at the end they decide to do nothing, Roxy still worries about Rudy and decide, by herself, to try to seduce Rudy.
I keep seeing that it was poorly adapted by the light novel crowd, but as an anime only I’m not so sure. I felt like that most of what was cut was conveyed well. The only thing I seen mention of that was cut that I didn’t get from the episode was that Rudeus outed himself as a reincarnation to Roxy.
Finally someone with a brain. This episode is actually well made even if they cut a lot of content from the ln. The anime don't even need to adapt everything as they are already showing it without telling.

I find it kinda funny how much they shown of him and Eris fucking while she was an actual child, they shown a bit of Sylphi (I guess she does not count as a child in the Story but in our she prob would), and when he does it with Roxy we get Handholding and cut to the next morning, while Roxy beeing the only actual Adult of those 3, this would have been a good chance to give us a treat xd

The only thing that i hate this episode is that they portray roxy as this girl who is waiting for rudy to have a moment of weakness. Theres no context or urge of urgency for roxy to suddenly come to redues and do the deed. In the light novel it showed how severe rudy's depression is compare to the anime we does see some of it but not the full extent of it and then we cut straight to roxy doing the deed giving some people the impression that roxy is doing this because rudy is vulnerable. We didnt get context to how roxy came to the conclusion of having sex with rudy will basically help his depression. Basically in the anime roxy's actions at first is surprising given we didnt get context of why she is offering herself to rudy and protray roxy as someone that will take a situation of rudy to have sex with her. And sure later in the episode we does see that it later that roxy did that because she knows how fragile rudy's mind is but we didnt get to know the reason why she came to the conclusion of having to do the deed with him will solve it. Another thing is having roxy became the sole reason of making rudy cheat when it was elinalise who gave her that idea. Still a concise good episode but maybe this is just a me problem because i read the light novel and thinking it will be the same in the anime

I like the version of the anime. In the LN Elinalise ask Roxy to do it if I recall correctly. But here Roxy was more proactive which shows the depth of there relationship.
In both version elinalise didnt ask Roxy to do it. Thats why elinalise was surprised when Rudeus and roxy went out the room together

she wasn't planing on going that far or rather she never tought Rudy woud be feel atracted to her but when she saw she saw him that close she cud not but think she may have a chance and went for it.
Elinalise herself was surprised that Roxy did that, Sleeping with a married man was unlike the Roxy she knew, she felt very conflicted about it but in the end she descided to go out of her way to help her out in her own Elinalise way.

Geese started the conversation that Rudy has to have a woman in his bed. Elinalise just kept going with it and refused to do it herself. Roxy was angry with her and begged her to do it but she still refused because she didn't want to cheat on Cliff and betray Sylphie.
Roxy then came to the conclusion that she is the one who has to save Rudy.
Time passed: They took 5 days to leave the Labyrinth and Rudy locked himself in for another 5 days until Roxy saved him.

idk, I thought it was pretty clear that Elinalise was the one who pushed to Roxy to do what she did. Roxy admitted that she was told by Elinalise.
And the fact that you could see clues like around 10:39 on Crunchyroll where she directly look at him and Roxy holding what's left of his arm + her conversation with Rudy after that where she was very insistent on him following this route and the conversations bits like "You're Paul's son. You must at least be good for that much";
All that shows she was very much the one behind it.
And their world's values are pretty much different from ours where, aside from the Millis religion, everyone else have little to no concern about polygamy. And Rudy doesn't realise that yet because he has his old world's viewpoint clashing with the current one.
And Elinalise wants everyone to be happy and she's more insightful on how women over there feels so I think she's doing the right thing. Albeit a bit forceful an nosy but givent the context where the alternative where everyone would break appart, she's being the mature one.
