I am not sure you can say over priced. Do you know their cost to produce? The profit margin might be the same or even less on Carbon fiber than traditional rims. Too expensive defiantly, but over priced implies they are gouging the customers and I don't think that's fair to say without all the data. Love your videos!
I’ve heard the Carbonic’s are awesome and even handle bashes somewhat well. But I’m fine with the Odyssey Stage 2 or quadrants that I have. I might upgrade to 7ka or Hazard Lites or Possibly the Birdcage’s from GSport. What do you think out of these options would be best bang for the buck? I was leaning more towards Hazards because they have more layers but are about the same weight as 7ka. But also come in chrome
if you're an average rider then there isn't a point, i ride RNC cranks and carbon rims, mostly for the ability to flip and spin faster. but if you're not doing those things then there isnt a point. carbon is cool tho. sun evny are also a good option, $55 and 14.1 OZ
this vid is kinda old now but those rims are not that light there are way better carbon rims that are way lighter also going tubeless doesnt really save any weight once you add everything to the tubeless setup like the special rim strips an the the tubeless sealant its better to just go with tube elitos an folding tires
Just under a pound is a pretty bad way to say almost a quarter pound lighter than already light street rims for each rim. Birdcage 15.5 ounces. Or vandals. Birdcages aren't intended for heavy street. I have 2 on my bike right now. Carbonic are supposedly rated for heavy street. Stiffness is also affected. Which helps us with pumping. They're already about 2 ounces lighter than already weenie rims not intended for the same level of riding so even worst case they still cut a quarter pound of rotational weight. Compared to other street rims. That are 16 to 19 ounces. It can be anywhere from 6 to 12 ounces. They are expensive. But also supposed to last longer then alloy rims. On the caveat that they probably aren't a smart choice for grinding rough concrete or running uber low pressure in your tires. They're for people who already run folding tires where you don't wanna go below like maybe 50 to 70 at the lowest anyways.
Deffs won't hold up rear. And the x lace is like 19 ounces. A birdcage is lighter. Also people used to murk 7000 series rims. Most modern rims are only 6000 series. Versus we already know good carbon rims can out strength alloy rims in the mtb world. The only issue is they do still fail in a rather sketchy way when they do fail But so do most weenie rims.

Kevlar/folding bead tires would save you the same or more rotational weight at 1/8th of the extra expense.
ben running the eclat carbon rims for a year on street and still straigh only tighen spokes once
Carbon rims don't bend. They go out of true only. They simply explode or Crack or break when they break.
alienations are lighter still...

My hockey sticks are $370+ with tax and they can last a year or 2 days so this doesn't bother me.

Are the wethepeople Supreme rims good?
Check out the gsport birdcage or roll cage they can take some abuse

I ride cinema rims and wouldnt change to any others
cinema ❤ 888 so clean
Just get Fly Lunar Lites. They're 1/4 of the price and weigh only 10 grams more.
Good front rim, I'd go with the fly x lace for the rear and it's about the same weight

Personally I run ribcage front and rear and never had a problem with them
@@bmxriderforlife1234 My Lunar Lites hold up just fine in the rear. You're talking out your ass, I'm speaking from experience.
@Dustin Bayer they're a fairly heavy rim. Besides the birdcage the g sport rims sre like 19 to 21 ounces or something like that.
Bmx is dead kids . Save your money .
There's always one idiot..
Your mum 2 bui
imagine not doing something that you like cuz its ''dead'' 🤡
@@Cheesicle_ you are delayed 3 months I posted this ! Lmao 🤡
@@1builtGTR welcome to youtube. first time?
I'd stick with the federal xl rims. That's just unnecessary luxury.
