  • A lighting strike sparked a fire in a decorative gazebo atop a building at the Arrezzo Way Hilton on Vineland Avenue. It was smoldering for a while before anybody noticed it, so the lightning was gone by the time I went out. 17 units responded; Battalions 3 and 4, Assistant Chiefs 10 and 12, Engines 36, 52, 56, 57, and 58; Mobile Command 1, Rescues 52 and 54, Rehab 1, Squad 1, and Trucks 54 and 51.

I was running in between shots! The hotel is right around the corner from my neighborhood but they rolled out so fast I couldn't make it all the way in time.

The rumbler and horns are good. One thing that is lost to the manufactures is that deaf people can't hear a lot of these warning sirens and horns. My wife started losing her hearing when she was around 13. Her hearing loss started at high frequency. She can't hear fire alarms because they are high pitch. They should make warning alarms that are very low pitch. You could feel them even if you can't hear them.

actually as a fire alarm enthusiast Fire alarm companies have started making Low Frequency fire alarms which produce 520hz because they are better at waking people up and I think they can help wake people who are hard of hearing up faster
