- Join us as we hit the streets of Malacca in search of food - which is NOT difficult to find here! We tried to eat as much as we could today. Here is what we found:
Dim Sum and steam buns (and more!) at the Low Yong Moh Restaurant: Dim sum is a popular Chinese-style brunch consisting of a variety of bite-sized dishes. At Low Yong Moh Restaurant, you can expect a wide selection of dim sum, including steamed dumplings, buns filled with meat or vegetables, rice rolls, and more. The restaurant may offer classics like siu mai (pork dumplings), har gow (shrimp dumplings), char siu bao (barbecue pork buns), and custard buns, among others. Enjoy the flavors and textures of these delicious bite-sized treats.
Duck Noodles, a mix of pig ears, intestines, and tofu dish, and soup at Tengkara Duck Noodles: Tengkara Duck Noodles is renowned for its flavorful duck noodle dishes. You can try their signature duck noodles, which typically include tender slices of roast duck served with egg noodles or rice noodles in a flavorful broth. The dish may come with toppings like green vegetables, mushrooms, and bean sprouts. As for pig ears, they are often marinated, sliced, and served as a savory side dish with soy sauce or other condiments. Give them a try if you're feeling adventurous!
A variety of meat satay at Sun May Hiong Satay House: Satay is a popular Malaysian street food consisting of skewered and grilled meat, usually served with a rich peanut sauce. Sun May Hiong Satay House is well-known for its succulent satay offerings. You can enjoy skewers of marinated and grilled meat, such as chicken, beef, or lamb, accompanied by a side of peanut sauce, sliced cucumbers, and ketupat (rice cakes). The combination of smoky flavors and the nutty sauce is a delicious experience.
We ended our day at Putu Piring Melaka: Putu Piring is a traditional Malaysian dessert originating from Melaka. It consists of steamed rice flour cakes filled with palm sugar (gula Melaka). At Putu Piring Melaka, you can enjoy these soft and fragrant rice cakes, delicately flavored with pandan leaves, and filled with melted palm sugar. The cakes are typically served with freshly grated coconut on the side, providing a delightful balance of flavors.

You both are great parents for exposing your children to so many different food culture. They will grow up to be great adults and they will be able to adapt and enjoy what the world has to offer. Great job☺️👍🏻
Agree and they teach their children to share foods too
Good job!!! It makes me wonder how you get your kids to try different kinds of food
@@bennyng15 easy when you expose your kids to various foods when they are below the age of 5 years. They will be able to eat things they have been exposed too when they grow up later. Most kids who only eats what their parents dare to eat will grow up very weak. God in the bible and I believe the Quran said he created all plants and animals as food source and the consume it without greed and wastage.
Granite is such a good food commentator
He develop a good taste buds too.
Your kids gonna grow up with better world view than most through the food u guys eat all over. Keep at it guys love Ur vids.
Your children are getting the finest education possible with these travels. What incredible memories they will grow up with. I find your videos to be utterly delightful.
Your family are all foodies! 👍👍 Your two older kids have such an international palate. You and your family are amazing global travellers! Awesome! 👍👍❤️
I'm incredibly impressed with you guys. This is the first time I've seen foreigners who are not of Asian origins who would try those ingredients in the duck noodle. Hope you enjoy your holiday in Malaysia and eat more good food!
Beautiful food adventures from a beautiful family. Hope you've enjoyed your time so far in Malaysia.. we'd love to see more of your adventures and food exploration of our beloved country 🇲🇾 .. hope you'll stay longer for all of us 😅
Thank you! Will do!
You have such a lovely family, and your children are so well behaving and open-minded to try so many range of food... usually children are so fussy with foods
Your kids brings smile to my face. I’m Malaysian and yet I’m not very adventurous liked your kids. Great job parents !
I was in Malaysia last year traveling KL, Cameron Highlands, and Ipoh! It was soo amazing. Food is exceptionally cheap in Malaysia so eat with all your heart's content!
I love how open both Granite and Cedar are to trying new foods in every country. They definitely got it from good parenting to be respectful and curious. So wonderful to watch. How old are they may I ask?
Beautiful family and your kids are so cute and they not picky about food. Forest is adorable. Greetings from Florida ❤
I love this family. Kids are amazing. Forest such a cute and smart.
Respect to you & family because all of you didn’t afraid to try new thing..that’s will be expensive experience to remember..
I'm Chinese and my kids grew up in HK - however your kids are more food adventurous than my kids. Love watching your kids trying everything.

A good way to introduce your young kids to multiculturalism and very remote Asian cultures.
My daughter refuses to try dim sum, your kids are so adventurous.
If you’re still in Malacca, please try Restaurant Ban Lee Siang for their sticks of meat or tofu in a big pot of satay peanut sauce. That’s the best restaurant I ever been to in Malacca!
Your kids are awesome. I dont even dare to eat pig ears let alone intestines. BRAVO!
Wow, you went to all my favourite places to eat in Melaka! Glad that your family is very adventurous to try all the food! 🥰🥰
Kudos for trying it out! Pig intestine soup is another one which is interesting, but mostly a home-cooked recipe instead of being sold
There's a famous pork intestine pepper soup place in KL. It's called Ah Heng Food Corner located right off Jalan Raja Laut.
@@mybabylokey Good find!
Great food reviews! I've been to Malacca but didn't even know about the food you introduced. Thanks for sharing.
Kudos to the both of you for taking such a big step for your family and yourselves. Not many parents have the "bottle" to do what you have done.I like the idea of educating your children as you move from country to country experiencing new cultures along the way. This is an opportunity for the children to widen their horizons.❤
Good morning! 😊deep fried yam/taro bbq pork ball/puff and steamed mushroom sticky rice wrap with banana leaf is my favorite breakfast or tea time food. Glad that you enjoy them.
love it guys! keep update!
Really affordable dim sum treats. Looks delicious. Suck noodles and side dish intestines must be delicious. Go keep exploring more local foods
great family time together. love watching your vids!
So fun to watch!!
U should try the authentic malay kampung sate...u will be blown away the best meat on a stick for sure
I am always wanting to stretch my ears to listen to yr kids’ explanation, so pure & delicately explained ❤👏
Your videos are great, please keep going and eat more of it😆 Glad your family enjoyed the food in Malaysia. Love your family!
Wow.... is truly amazing how you raise your kids with so enriching lifestyle with so much exposure as they will learn from school. Is madam on a vegetarian diet and she is very beautiful, Lovely kids
Thank you so much! Yes, Kelly is on a vegetarian diet. :-)
After eating the meat off the satay stick/skewer, you can use it poke the rice (that’s why they are normally bite size) and the cucumber and the onion to dip into the peanut sauce. Some places may give you a big chuck of the rice, but they are actually kinda cut/separated into small bites and you can break it
Sad that Kelly didn't have a proper lotus leaf rice (vegetarian) because most lotus leaf rice are with meat (chicken or pork). In fact, you should always tell the staff that you're looking for some vegetarian dishes, otherwise they will assume all of you will eat some amount of meat. Especially when ordering Dim Sum items.
reminds me of my good old childhood days where I ate many different foods for the first time with my family
mixing chilli oil into the peanut sauce or any dishes is very wild for someone who didn’t eat spice😅
Hey beautiful family nice to see you again.🥰🥰
U hv such wonderful family and i think they will make excellent vloggers like u . Good job. Keep it togather❤
Great life teaching! Enjoying in the same time
23:26 There is soursop (Belimbing/Durian Belanda/Dutch Durian) in the sauce-it’s a sweet-sour fruit, very soft and fragrant when ripe. This would be the Nyonya version of satay.
your family is very cultured. love it
Thank you for visiting Philippines, I love your family ❤️
Forest is such a pro at knowing when the video is about to end. In a way he is the director, because I bet if he is gonna get really grumpy, filming has to get cut short 😅
Nice I like the content.. family trip..very enjoy moment .. god bless your family .. 👍🙏😻
welcome to Malaysia.. have fun and pls enjoy everything in thsi country- the people, our culture, our food and many more
Good content keep up the good work.
28:56 Gula Melaka is palm sugar, tastes like molasses but more fragrant and flavourful. They sell it in small cylinders (traditionally it is collected in bamboo segments and left to dry out and set, hence the shape and you can cut or chop it up to the size you want, or if you want it like sugar granules you take a small knife and stand it in a plate or dish and scrape the side until you have the amount you want- collect the granules that fall off in the dish.
you should visit the Portuguese Settlement. its absolutely beautiful when it's Christmas
Hope u tried the Durian Puff, its very famous and super addictive, u cant have enough of em.
Nice experience, good family. Happy Father's Day.
Do come to Kuching, Sarawak, East Malaysia. Many historical places to see, was occupied by Rajah Brooke in the 1800s. Queen Elizabeth II came here twice.
The kids are smart.❤
I’m pleasantly surprised & impressed by how accepting the children are at accepting food they’ve never even imagined, exposed to, foreign & different. Recalling how I first had my own culture’s food, the intestines, belly etc i was mostly scared & disgusted by it until i got used to it (I was abt 8-10, sorry), until my dad explained & showed me how they cooked & cleaned them.
RUclips algorithm recommended your videos 👍🏼 I believe your kids will develop into fantastic characters. You guys are such awesome parents.
There’s a Chinese saying, it’s better to walk thousand miles than reading thousand books. Your kids are going to benefit so much from the experience. 🙏🏼 god bless
Love love this kids and parenting really nice 😘
Love you guys ❤️
Wow, those coconut desserts looked yummy.

I love the Xiao Mai 👉 小麦 from Dim Sum when I was a kid love to eat them ❤
TERBAIKKKK👍👍
Lovely to have your family try so many interesting food items. Hope u do drop by ipoh for a food adventure
Yumm... watching your YT video made me wanna make a trip to Melaka. By the way, Kelly is right about the Satay peanut sauce with a fruity flavour. It is one of the 2 places that boils pineapple with their peanut sauce :)
Ohh..u miss the r n r...ur and ur children will love it...
Interesting family. Love your vlogs. Can you give some tips on traveling with kids?
The fruity taste in the peanut sauce might be lemon grass or galangal.
Love from Kuching Sarawak ❤
Hi welcome and Enjoy as much of your time in Melaka but don’t forget to add kampung morten in the list cus it’s a must visit place in Melaka .😊✨✨✨love watching your adventures awesome family ❤❤
9:55 glutinous rice is a Lotus leaf-very classic. Now most places just serve it in the disposable aluminium dishes with a foil cover.
I like how you named your kids Granite and Cedar.
Nice video 👍🏻
Your children are surprisingly very broad minded and are willing to try different parts of the pig.Well done for bringing up your children this way.
It's.. called putu piring..that steamy hot with rice flour, coconut shaving and palm sugar..(gula melaka)
wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
36:25 Putu Piring is my favourite dessert! It’s fantastic!
Thanks for sharing..you guys are so lucky for being here in malaysia..Yeah..lot of foods everyway. If you go to pinang you will fine more food.
Kids are open minded in the food 😘
Great parents..cute amazing kids.. forest is so cute..great food adventures..kids will remember forever
Dim sum !
I am a big fans of Forest!!!
Wow great family☺️☺️☺️.. Hye from sarawak.. Come to sarawak bos..that many food delicious you must like👍👍
That sticky rice with banana leaf wrapped is delicious, especially the Foo chow version from Sibu, Sarawak. Also Sio Bee is superior version of typical dim sum and it's also Foo Chow version. I'm not Chinese but Foo chow food is the best. Even Kampua noodle 🤤
I recommend go to Sarawak for more tasty chinese food.
the weather is too hot, I think u may enjoy Genting or Cameron Highland
Try Ming Court and Canning Dim Sum in Ipoh. It is the best.
dude u're an amazing dad..ur children prolly dun know it yet..hopefully someday when they grown up they will realise it.. Much love from Singapore
The last wrapped glutinous item at the first coffeeshop is wrapped in a lotus leaf.
Ulau melingkau atas pagau!
I think the chicken roasted red is called chicken tandoori here in Malaysia and that which you dip in that looked like mayonnaise..l think is a kind of yogurt..
i like bbq marinated pork intestines, it is crispy and with less oil!!!
Your kids are cute, nice...
Handsome.. beautiful 😍❤️😅😊😊
