My favorite fruits are Manggis (Malay) or Mangosteen (English) and you both miss the buah Tarap. Buah Tarap only available in Borneo. Next time both of you are in Sabah, try buah Tarap if you can find one. As for the Durian, there's a lot of variety of Durian. Musang King is the most famous one and delicious (according to people). Here are some local Sabah foods that both of you can try on. Hinava / Kinava (this only Marisa can eat. Tim please don't 😅) it's a raw fish meat mix with lime and shallot. Linopot is a rice that is wrapped using leaf and the rice is not ordinary rice. The rice is a Padi Bukit or Padi Huma. The rice grows using less water and normally on the hills side hence the name Padi Bukit (Padi = Paddy, Bukit = Hills) and if you guys are adventurous enough? Try eat Bu'tot (either alive or dead) when I mentioned dead, it means already cooked 😅
Anyway, I hope the two of you are fine and thanks for the video (episode). Stay safe and healthy.

Next time when you guys visit Sabah again, you must try these 3 popular dishes in KK:
    1. Tuaran mee - jt is a fried noodle, local style and I bet Tim will love it.
    2. Ngiu chap - Mixed beef soup with noodle
    3. Sang nyuk mee - thin slice pork, vege and vermicelli noodle in tasty broth.

Stingray bones, if you can chew it, you can just eat it. They're soft bones, like the one in chicken ribs. There are big bones though, and that one is usually super tough to chew, so you can just ditch that.
And for the other Americans watching, don't worry, ray fish is not endangered species over here. Still have plenty of them.

there are so many varieties of durians. some are good (usually the expensive ones) and some are not worth to try. unfortunately the one that you had 27:00 doesn't look very and good and fresh. when you come to Peninsular Malaysia, I'd suggest you to look for Black Thorn, Musang King, IOI or D24 variety 😁

Durian offers a fruit eating experience like no other fruits can; it gets better the more you eat them. What’s more- there are many varieties out there that each have a distinct taste and texture and colour. Personally, I prefer bittersweet ones, buttery texture not firm ones.
Durian the king of fruit is seasonal, and u know what, the queen of fruit has the same season as well! Durian is considered ‘heaty’ whereas the queen of fruit is ‘cooling’, kinda like a yin and yang of fruits although these fruits are eaten separately at different time/ setting

Its unfortunate that people who tries durian for the first time had to try these types(Variant) and gets turned off by it. the durians that most first timer tried are of Musang King variants which have strong pungent smell, mushy and are gassy.
There are other variants of durians that do not produce strong pungent smell, not mushy, and not gassy normally small in size. (Pulu(Lukak), Kuning (Yellow)(Kampung), Otak Udang(red)) and i believe only available on Borneo island.

On the durian part, your body can accept it or hate it. So Tim falls to the former. There's no in between. Marissa falls to the latter where it taste like vomit to her but sweeter. Ya, sweet vomit.

I think there are plenty of people who will agree that durian isn’t their favorite. It’s not fair to claim that we are ungrateful just because we didn’t like one of the fruits we tried.
We are exploring the world and different cultures. In sha- Allah.

I mean ingesting non food items is dependent on ones idea of nutrition ... Some of these people are eating what i consider non food items ... And then wonder why they have horrible stomach pains all the time ... If they would just eat real all beef pattys all the time burger pattys 24/7 it would be better for them
I think in my honest opinion but yeah 👍 ....

That's a generalisation. There are durian lovers and haters from both westerners and easterners. But the majority of lovers are from regions or countries where durian is a common local fruit where it's part of their culture.
