1971 Harley Davidson Shovelhead Chopper - First Test Ride Didn't go as Planned

- This 1971 Harley Davidson Shovelhead had been sitting in the previous owners garage unridden for years. After we brought it back to the shop we started going through the systems one at a time all while trying to keep the bike rideable. Unfortunately our shakedown ride didn't go as planned this time.
UPDATE 2024: The Shovelhead was our most expensive bike purchase to date and also the shortest we ever kept a bike. We really wanted to enjoy this bike but it just didn't fit us well and we didn't enjoy the way this particular bike handled.

Once all of the issues are sorted out, it should be a great bike. Nothing sounds like a shovel head!
Hello Jeff how are you doing 😊
After seeing the left leg kick start by 2min it all made sense why you're having problems.
Can you please tell me what pipes are on that bike . Love that tight sound it's perfect for me . Also sounds like a feul issue providing your getting spark
Can you tell me the pipes your running on that . I need those on mine !
The price for a gallon of gas there... $3.19 is a fond memory.... here in the UK today I noticed it at £1.97 per litre..... so your gallons are 3.785 litres, and the exchange rate is £1 : $1.22... that makes just over 9 bucks a gallon.... for our larger gallons it is £8.95 or nearly eleven bucks a gallon..... and 44% of the cost is tax ! - no wonder you people fought for Independance !
I'd bet that Brittany is gone by now.
The bike is gone now. I'm still here producing videos, filming content, running social media, keeping the website up to date and riding motorcycles. 🙂
Not to good...
Good news is after all that debacle the guys have got it going down the road again without problems. 🙂
It was a dirty carb and plugs.fresh screaming eagle plugs and I rebuilt the super e and adjusted the valves.also had an electrical fire so it was completely rewired.also had a custom set of zombie nomad bars built to correct the riding position.Ive ridden it a couple hundred miles and runs extremely well now
