    Me and my buddy really wished we could have gone tk that tournament, it’s a Sunday and I work that day but the day before we went out and fished. We caught 3-4 fish at like 2.2 pounds each at like 15 inches. I feel like we could have been up there with the 1-4th place if we kept catching those

      I’m sure there will be another opportunity to go out there in a tournament setting on a Saturday sometime soon! You guys were definitely on the right caliber of fish to do well! Thanks for watching!

      Bois D’Arc has a 16 inch maximum length limit on bass, you can only keep fish 16 inches in length or smaller! We had to throw back the 4, the 3.5 and several other 2.5-3 pounders because of that!

    Isn’t the mimimum length 14 for the state? That third one looked much smaller than that

      On Bois D’Arc it has special regulations. You can only keep bass 16 inches or smaller. Anything over 16 inches must go back in the water. Similar to the slot on lake fork but with no overs.

      @@metroplexbassaddictsso the lake regulations exceed state regulations?

    • @metroplexbassaddicts
      @metroplexbassaddicts  3 месяца назад

      Yes, the lake regulations are put in by the Texas parks and wildlife department who manages the fishery. They also set the state regulations, so they have the authority to make changes based on the condition of the lake. Lake Fork, Lake Athens, and Lake Grapevine are other lakes in Texas that have special regulations. There was also a period of time after a fish kill where some of the brazos river lakes (possum kingdom, lake Whitney, and lake Granbury) had their minimum length moved up from 14 to 16 inches to allow the population of bass in the fishery to recover. Because Bois D’Arc is a new lake, they want to protect big bass in the lake from being harvested to ensure that the population of the lake grows well and that the gene pool gets stronger 👍

    Why even bother doing a tournament when you only keep midgets? You guys should do like the kayak tournaments and do a total length with pics

      It’s a fun challenge! They put the tournament on, we heard about it, and decided to fish it!
