I am a native Floridian that fished my whole life (roughly 50 years) Until becoming disabled 14 years ago & I have never seen/was surprised to see you using a "Lookdown" fish for bait.
Love that you're adding captions in other languages
You are one of the hardest working and enjoyable fishing channels
13:34 Good call on not touching that one, could've been bad.
Yeah if I don’t know I don’t touch haha.
Thank you for sharing those epic moments. Stay bless stay safe and stay fishing strong.
Of course! Thanks for watching!! Same to you and tight lines!!
Thanks For Catching That Baby Shark. 🤗
Hahaha glad you enjoyed!
Always a good fish by you battle grunts.
Yes rie
What kind of fish was the creepy one that you said that you needed to dehook with that tool? It kind of looked like a sea robin. I haven't seen those in years, except for up north when beach fishing.
I think it was a stonefish of some sort. I’m not sure. But it didn’t look safe to touch. So I didn’t haha.
Worst day of fishing is better than the best day of work
Not all trips are box fillers! Good stuff Rich
Yeah it was a humbling kinda day.
Great show!! Could you show us how you set up and bought your Live Scan? Thanks in advance!!
Yeah for sure I can talk about that!!
how deep were you fishing for runners when you caught those mangroves ?
70ft I believe
Why do you need to cut the tail on the bait fish?
Was that not a lion fish @13:36?
Nope, I think a stonefish.
You need bigger reel for BIG boys
Yeah probably 🙈
those are sharp nose sharks not blacktip
goliaths maybe?
Yeah maybe.

Love the bottom fishing, the sharks were so cool to see and sick you caught one. Makes me sad every time seeing how nice the weather is there, freezing where I am. Awesome stuff!
Glad to hear!! I’ll make more vids like this every chance I get!! Stay warm!
Be careful with those "docile" Sandbar Sharks they can freak the F out on the leader, can't stand those things but I suppose they serve their own purpose. Bet the train tracks you got stuck at were in Rio 😂 One way to see what that spot has is to bring an 80W loaded with 200lb braid dump a blue runner or a grunt down and have someone ready at the helm palm the spool and drive it away from the structure I would be willing to bet they are AJ's in the 60 to 80 class. Bites seem too frequent for Grouper
Hahaha yeah that would be a good way to find out. I’ve gotta beat up the tackle.
At 23:10 it looked like a cuda took a swipe at your line right by the boat and broke you off. Did anyone else notice that?
Nahh that was a remora fish. The fish that sticks to sharks and rays.
Older people (like your father) hold much wisdom & As we get older,, Making lists are definitely a good idea.
I love how you are fully equipped 🔥🙏
I have the same Lifetime cooler. Best cooler for the price hands down
I would like to be with you on ALL of your fishing trips,, But ESPECIALLY this one because i truly LOVE bottom fishing.❤🐟
Hi rich you’re an awesome fisherman but every time I watch it I stand on the back of that boat if you fall in I won’t be watching you anymore so please stop standing on the back of the boat. Thank you your biggest fan Jim.
😌 That's right, better safe then sorry
It's really fun fishing, I really like it 👍💯🙏🙏
How can you tell what sex the fish 🐟 is before you have landed it please My son would like to know he's studying thanks 😊
I believe it's size related because fish change sex to female when they get big (I might be wrong, I don't know it that goes for every fish)
What reel and pole is the green one? I’m a huge fan!
@FishAholicFishing do you have any tips for catching king fish or mackeral in general from peirs in south florida?
I don’t do much pier fishing here in Florida. But live bait can be great and with 50lb wire you want to make a double hook rig. Tie a barrel swivel to the wire with a haywire twist, then haywire on a size 3 or 4 treble hook, and then haywire on another section of wire like 6 to 8” depending on the bait size. Then haywire on a second treble hook. Hook the bait in the nose and mid body or near the tail with the second treble hook. I like to make sure my wire is laying flush with the bait between the treble hooks. Once rigged cast it out. If there are some hungry kings around you’ll find out quickly. If there are a lot of people fishing on the pier you may have to experiment with some other rigs that keeps your bait in place otherwise you risk tangling with a lot of people who also have their lines out.
@@FishAholicTV thanks a lot, I’m trying to go after the kings since it’s that time of year.
Anyone who doubts the quanity/quality of fish he catches, just look at his right shoulder compared to the left. Says it all.
Hahaha 🤣
what’s wrong with his shoulder
That's crap,he probably was born with a dicky shoulder.
Love your videos but that hook won’t rust out man. Theres a diver who removes hooks from sharks and all of them are rusted and stay in the sharks mouth. Often times can get infected
The creepy looking fish you coauthor is like the most venomous fish in Florida I think it’s called the scorpion fish
Love how real you are, although surf fishing is my way of fishing you are my favorite channel on YT. With very little time in a week to watch anything i can always squeeze few minutes for your videos 🙌
Wow, I grew up fishing, there when I was a kid, Port Salerno, Florida 😊
You’re one of the few that I see reeling a spinning reel with the correct hand.😎
I like the translation to portuguese... people from Brazil will start following your channel.
Yeah Karina is doing the translations which is really nice of her to do and your right then more people from Brazil can then enjoy the videos.
Those big groupers are extraordinary adversaries! Still an enjoyable day on the water with beautiful weather and some good eatin' fish in the cooler. 😉♥
Yeah I tried my best. Glad you enjoyed! I need days like this to keep me humble and so I can come back out with another plan of attack to catch them next time.
Kenapa talinya di gunting, kenapa tidak di lepas saja mata pancing nya
hi there at this location i recommend a heavy duty steel wire to land those monsters
You'd get hung if you kept little fish like that here in australia.
amesome! glad you made it home from your travels safely! I purchased my first pedal kayak yesterday! i upgraded from a paddle kayak. never would have got into kayak fishing and filming if it wasnt for you and the channel. thanks.
Thanks bro, and that’s awesome! Best of luck with it!! Kayak fishing is awesome and I’m stoked I got into it back when I was 12 and I’m still doing it now at 29. You’ll catch some monsters!
You could see the Cuda that cut you off at 23:10. Also, tighten up your preload on your drag. That HX (HXW) should have 30lbs of drag on tap pretty easily.
Lockdowns have a limit size....not sure you can keep that small lockdown for bait bro, check that .
I have checked many times. Where I live there isn’t any regulation for them. They are unregulated. floridashellfishtrail.org/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/quickchart.pdf
Actually they don’t even make the unregulated list because there isn’t any concern for them I guess. I do my research. I’m a fish nerd 🤓haha
You had a good day today. great slab's of some good tasting Snapper's and they are one of my favorite fish to deep fry or baking. Groupers and Snappers i could catch up to 25 and have a few friends over for some fresh fish with a few side's and they will love you the rest of the day. I like the way you fish, kinda the same ways i've found out to be consistent. Your bait fish are going to make it a good day. Lots of people don't know what to fish with depending on the temperature's and the depth your looking for that type of fish you seek. thanks for the video and I'll be tuning in again with you. from N.C. outer banks.
Look at those long pliers sitting there you could've dehooked that shark. You were scared 😊
A dehooker is better. I can pull harder to pop the hook out. Generally when I shark fish I even crush the barbs to make it easier. Sharks have thick tough skin and the hook I was using had a big barb on it. I already knew it would be to tough to try without the dehooker. It’s not my first shark I’ve caught and you can call me scared lol. But at least I have all my finders hahaha.
Great vid as always! Variety of bait used is very cool
Curious - What do you store in the bucket (just below the wheel) with the styrofoam pool tubes in it?
13:30 Those sculpin are good eating. Try it sometime. Don't wanna get stung though.
Ohhhh really, I guess they are poisonous or have venom?
Ill bet there was some salty words said when you realized what you forgot! Been there Done it
Hahahahaha yeahhhh you know it.
Baby shark do do do do do do!
(Sorry, just had to)😂
11:33 That's what she said
Hahahaha tight lines 🤙🏻
Have you ever caught a fish with a partially rusted hook in it's mouth?
Yes I have. Many times.
How about a test? Leave a hook in a bucket of sea water and find out how quickly it rusts away. Maybe do it with a few types of hook. It's high time someone did this. The results would be interesting...
I’ve done it with brackish water from the estuary behind where I live. In two weeks the hook tip breaks and the barb is gone. In higher salinity in the ocean I would have to guess much quicker. But I said a couple weeks because it was a bigger hook than what I tested.
@@FishAholicTV Pleased to hear it. It would be an interesting bit of side footage though.
Another awesome trip Rich! You are definitely a fish slayer
Hahaha thanks so much!! Tight Lines!!
Richeeeeeeee! I love watch yor's videos,is so natural, very original! I like the way You explain what You gonna do next, even what You gonna eat for lunch! Perfect done!!!!!!! I spent over 20 years fishing Long Island Sound, for Stripers and Fluke! Now I live in Port Sain Lucie, and absolutely love watch what are You doing on nthe water! Thanks so much for your awesome comment!! Hopefully I’ll see you out there one day soon 🤙🏻tight lines!!
Wah ada ikan hiu
great video man, I like the use of some drone shots mixed in....I just started recently trying it....little nervy launching from the boat but worth it lol
Yeah it is nerve wracking but you gotta do what you gotta do. Tight Lines!! Thanks for watching!
When was this? its been so rough lately. hoping to get out there soon
This was filmed back in September. But I did get out two days in a row October 22nd and 23rd. Big AJs, vermillion snapper, red snapper, Almaco jack, mangrove snapper, mutton snapper were all biting.
Glad you didn’t touch that fish
Well that sucks 😔, buy still got Dinner!!
Yeah this was a humbling day
I Caught a. Baby. Shark
Nice vid Rich, a cool variety of species. Catching bait on a sabiki can be fun, lol! Make sure to hold time on your calendar for mid-Dec to mid-Jan to be in Navarre FL for the Blackfin tuna run (kayak).
Thanks so much!! I’ll mark it on my calendar! I didn’t know that was a think until now. Thanks for the heads up 💪🏻
Wow, yep got you in structure! Great video as always, love all of trips you share with us. Keep 'em coming! Do you put WD-40 on the hinge points of the trolling motor and did it work to free it up to work by itself?
Thanks so much and glad you enjoyed! Yeah I do use WD-40. It worked just fine once I give it a push at the head to deploy.
Baby shark do doo do doo do do
Sandsprit park has sure changed. My family use to camp/fish there in the early 60's. Thanks for the look back...
It has. It got hit hard last year by a hurricanes. So there’s a lot of work being down there. Glad you enjoyed!
The fish ain't that big.
Grouper is absolutely one of my favorite fish - but I also love Mangroves. I also grew up eating a lot of mullet, smoked and bbq'd. SO good.
Ohhh I’ve never eaten mullet but I have heard they are good. I’m going to have to try them one day soon. Mangrove snapper is definitely my second favorite. #1 is tripletail.
Very happy
Do you charter?
Always enjoy your videos and adventures my friend! Thanks for sharing another one. Keep up the good work!
Thanks so much David! Really glad you enjoyed!!!
Glad u had a day to go out.. waters been super rough all October in Florida i haven't been out on my month in over a month
Yeah this was filmed back in September. I did get two days in offshore. The second weekend in October. Got some vermillion, scamp grouper, Big AJ’s, keeper mangos, and lost a tuna.
I see redemption in the future on that hole. Thanks for sharing! Enjoyed! God Bless.
Hahaha you know it!!!! God Bless!
I finally made a checklist because I was always forgetting something when going out on the yak 😊
Hahaha yeah I started making a kayak packing list and boat packing list.
Absolutely love these offshore videos
Glad to hear Mike!!
maybe a bad trip to you, but you sure had some good eats in the cooler! Awesome vid!
Haha in hind sight I had fun and the fish tasted great!!!
Yer Dad's right. So was mine...
Eat more seafood. 😊
Hahaha I listened. I’ve got a kayak packing list and a boat packing list now. I haven’t forgotten anything since.
😮😮
Why do you cut off the head and tail?
The fish I think like it more. It lets out more scent so they can find the bait sooner. I was experimenting a lot though. Some fish hit the whole bait.
Why is your captioning in spanish 😊
English should auto generate. It’s Portuguese
I loved your video! ❤ The shark was a lil scary, but you got this! Stay safe!!
Thanks my love!! Thanks for doing the translation again! 😘
Dream set up right there!😮💨
Love your content man, I'm gonna be heading to Jupiter next weekend I'm wondering since I live on the west coast, is the mullet run still going on?
Thanks so much!!! Yeah there’s still a lot of action going on over here. Still loads of bait. It’s definitely the tail end but you’ll find some action. Good luck!!
@@FishAholicTV thanks, and do you know any good spots around the Jupiter/Juno area for snook? I'm really trying to get my first slot
No worries Rich - some days are tough. Enjoyed the content regardless
Glad to hear!! These kinda days humble me which is good. It keeps my on my toes to learn more.
Great Job on this episode. Always great. 👍👍👍👍
Thanks so much Kevin!!!
21:31 big cubera for sure
You think? How can you tell? From the leader slice. I need to get back out there and get ‘em. I can’t sleep until I do hahaha.
Monster mangrove
Yeah it tasted good 😋
Love the camera down there 😍
Perfect and easy catch on that shark 🤌
Yeah I was educating the little shark haha.

Thanks so much!! Glad to hear you enjoyed!!
Loved this segment, nice snapper bite.
Thanks so much! Glad you enjoyed!

Thanks so much! I’m glad you enjoyed!!!
Lists work.
why do yanks always use fresh water ice for saltwater fish? they should b e using saltice....
Awesome vid. The heads of the blue runner work really well too😢😂
is that engine interference on your sounder? sure looks like it..
