Thank you! I'm 14 and this is my first time cooking chicken wings!
Awesome to be learning how to cook at an early age. It’s not hard but please do be careful around the kitchen.
Hey Bestie 😂 I'm going to start me a tips 📖. You have the best tips and tricks ever. Going to try that lighter trick seems to be faster and better. Thanks Bestie 😊
You’re welcome!!!

Just a quick question for that wash their chicken do y'all wash every meat or is it just chicken
Hi ChefDJ, for the most part yes, however not all, for example, ground meats and deli meats, I don’t wash those.
no, absolutely DO NOT wash your chicken. that is how you spread salmonella throughout your kitchen.
y'all always saying that you splash salmonella if u wash the chicken. I guess you won't splash when you're washing hands after handling it?or the knife and cutting board u used?damn
by this logic we shouldn't wash our hands ever cuz we're spreading germs and bacteria everywhere
@@dwayner901 No offense tot he lady who made this video, I grew up in a black house so I know that this is just a thing that happens. But, bro, no one would accept that argument for any other kind of food safety. Especially in a video that is supposed to teach you stuff. There is nothing wrong with having your own style of doing things. If you want to eat an apple covered in uranium that isn't illegal or immoral but you shouldn't tell people that it's a perfectly healthy way to eat apples.
Side note, I wanna say I love this lady's video's they're really good.
@@dwayner901same! I've never been sick from anything cooked at home. I believe the CDC conducted a study where they found salmonella was spread throughout the kitchen after washing. Personally, I'd love to see how the study was conducted. 👀 Either way, the most convincing argument I've heard was from people that process mass-produced chicken. Their suggestion: *WASH YOUR CHICKEN BEFORE COOKING.* I didn't need convincing, but that's better proof than ANY double blind study!😂 Happy eating!
I used to think like you. Wash your chicken. It’s vile what comes off the meat and you’d be shocked. I don’t want to be eating feathers and all sorts. All you have to do is wash your surfaces down after with a multipurpose spray and hot water.
Delicious chicken wings.
Thank god , i needed this during black history month. Watched a tutorial on how to cook chicken wings & they put it straight into a pan to fry WITH NO SEASONING, WTF
Hi Meanyace2819 and thanks for watching. That would be a no no in my kitchen. I firmly believe in cleaning, washing and seasoning chicken before cooking it.
Thank u, I will never do my chicken any other way 👍🏾😁
You’re welcome. This hack simplifies the cleaning process.
Thank you!!! Please stop these ppl from saying you don't have to wash chicken. Lol 😂
😂😂 I appreciate your comment. Some people just don’t believe chicken needs to be cleaned or washed, but as for me and my house, we gonna do it or we ain’t eating it.
@@simplycookingwithshawn amen 🙏🏾 it DOES taste different when you get all of that off before cooking. Same rule for me and my house lol 😂
You seem lovely! Great informative video
Thank you so much!
So you dont seperate the drum and flat, and leave the tip on?
No I actually don’t separate them however if I were frying them I may have done that, but I usually bake them and leave them whole with the exception of removing the little piece that I removed in the video.
@@simplycookingwithshawn oh ok I see
Now I mo lol I used it it dose taste really good
I ment no
I appreciate your comment.
Whheeww! You got that right! Get it gooood!!!
Yes ma’am!
Is it good to wash chicken or not ?
I never have
In my opinion yes. I never prepare chicken without cleaning and washing it first.
@@simplycookingwithshawn cool 😎 great video, I'll be watching

Thank you, it’s been taken care of some time ago, however I appreciate your attentiveness. Thanks for watching!
Do you cook and eat your chicken tips? I usually cut them off and throw them away.
I actually do, it’s really mostly skin on the tip but I do eat it.
I don't like the lighter method anymore
Why are you rinsing the chicken though? I understand taking out the remains of feathers etc.
Washing chicken makes zero sense logically. All you are doing is trying to wash the outside of the chicken, the inside is still exactly the same as the outside (i.e. has bacteria, salmonella etc.), you aren't washing that so what are you actually doing? Cooking is the only way to "wash" the chicken.
If you want to remove the smell of the meat then you can brine/marinade it.
Washing is doing nothing but spreading germs unnecessarily.
I appreciate your comment. The way I clean chicken is just how I prefer to do it. I’m not concerned about spreading bacteria or salmonella because I throughly clean my utensils, work surfaces, and sink with hot water, dish detergent and bleach after I prep my chicken.
It's fine and I understand people want to wash their meat, it's just the matter of the inside of the chicken is the same as the outside and you aren't washing the inside, just try to be aware of that. And I'm sure your kitchen is kept as clean as possible, it's a beautiful kitchen. :)@@simplycookingwithshawn
It’s crazy because if you really pay attention..chicken is just NOT clean enough to remove from the pack, season, and throw in a pan. Then they say “Oh the heat will kill all the germs and everything” That’s more of a reason for me to clean cause I don’t want filth cooked in to my chicken! I always say if you want to eat slime and little chicken hairs, then that’s your business but I won’t partake in that nastiness!
Hi Joel. I appreciate your comment. It’s comforting to know that there are others who feel the same way I do about cleaning chicken. I can’t in good conscience cook it if I don’t clean it thoroughly first. 😊
@@simplycookingwithshawn Exactly and fresh cleaned chicken is soooo good!
Who ever washes their chicken still have no good explanation. Elementary education
If you want to eat slime and little chicken hairs then go right ahead, doesn’t mean others want or have to.
I appreciate your comment. For me the explanation is preference. I feel more comfortable taking these steps before cooking my chicken.
Grand Momma, 'ya doing too much!
I appreciate your comment. For me I feel more confident eating it once I’ve taken these steps in prepping it before cooking.
Cooking kills germs smh
I appreciate your comment, that may well be the truth, however I feel more comfortable cleaning and washing it before I cook it .
Washing meat is stupid
No, no it’s not
@@DillardAlpaughit is
I appreciate your comment, but I don’t feel comfortable cooking it if I don’t wash it first.
That's how u know them take out spots don't do it
Sorry but I'm not following anyone who washes chicken. Listen to actual chefs instead of continuing stupid tradition.
I appreciate your comment. There are many that think washing chicken is necessary or perhaps their preference and then there are those that think otherwise and therefore omit washing it. It’s totally up to each individual what they decide. As for me if I’m preparing it I prefer to wash it first.
🤮
Thank you for your comment.
I like it 😮 🫡🫡 great job
Thank you!!😊
