im completely new to the game and let me tell you, it took over a week to kill hydra -___- and most of the battle WAS GETTING TO THE BOSS

I’m using this video because I do not know the best stuff for a sorcery build cuz I’ve only beaten dark souls games with a strength build

I remember Smaugh and Ornstein being so hard. I literally pulled them apart using a sorcerer build similar to this: i just used the normal catalyst and it was fine.
Yeah some things seem easy with a melee build but wow the game feels way easier on my second true playthrough running as a sorcerer. knowledge is helpful but it has been way easier and more enjoyable. the other games idk about magic
One tip: Dont use the the Ivory Oolacile Catalyst. Keep with your sorcerers catalyst as it has higher magic adjust and scales with INT. You will make more damage and you will keep that catalyst until you are 40+ int and you will change to logan's catalyst.
Oolacile is better than sorcerers tho
At 12 int oolacile has 180 magic adjustment while sorcerer's has only 111.

the hydra always hits me threw the rock, and the takes all my stamina way, nearly killing me, and then attacks again and then I die
Firs time trying sorcery and holy shit I cannot believe how much dmg I can do. Combining the bellowing ring and crown of dusk with red tear stone ring and I’m literally melting bosses like nobody’s business. Downside is being squishy, but that isn’t an issue when even bosses in NG+ die in 10 seconds haha
fire bomb the hydra never seen that before blew me away and the hydra impressive
I'm pretty sure this is the same thing ymfah did just easier to do
My class called the “saucy sorcerer” involves:
Pursuers
Dark bead
Power within
Both soul spears
Dusk crown
Sorcery ring
Fap ring
50 INT and the default catalyst for a sorcerer
Great video! Just a tip for the hydra firebomb strat- if you dont have the stats or find a heavier shield you can equip in right hand. 2hand the shield and you will be able to block a bit better while still throwing bombs. I do this with the grass shield thats not too far from hydra
Just buy the 100% block shield from the merchant that sells fire bombs .....and of your not using the souls glitch then I feel sorry for u

And if you wanna take it to the next level, you could always try and kill Pinwheel for a solid 15,000 souls right off the bat. He's just below Firelink Shirne...... you just gotta be really careful.
Mr Chungus not even that if your dodge is point and you can get to him safely, you can body Pinwheel _sans_ Leeroy straight from the asylum. That’s how laughable he is.
Careful? Just walk around and roll a bit with a summon and the fight is over in 2 seconds
@@asap6763 probably means to be careful on your way TO Pinwheel, I've died to the skeletons many times while trying to get to him early on, though I agree the fight was fairly easy
But Goo-ood luck getting back out of the Catacombs as a squishy Sorceror.

Can I use this to make my way towards the moonlight greatsword? I haven't started it yet but I want to know if its possible to be a main sorcerer as well as using the moonlight greatsword minimaly but also have it somewhat op.
Moonlight greatsword is suuuuuper annoying to get. Not sure if you ever got it, but expect it to be probably the most annoying trek and boss battle in the entire game if you’re definitely set on getting it
@@philorgneopolotin8762 I got it on my first playthrough but only had like the standard intelligence stat you get at the beginning lol. I was dealing 5 damage. But yeah on a quality build with high hp, i was struggling to cut the tail off. Must be a pain with sorcerer build since most sorcerer builds have less hp.
@@bimmer8602 What I recommend is preparing for that boss fight.
If anyone that uses a sorcerer build is reading this, get a strong weapon, level up your dex and strg a bit along with your HP and get the tail like that.
With magic it can be very, very annoying to get that tail.
@@MARS-eb8pt I just used cristal soul spear in the tail two times and I got it.
@@philorgneopolotin8762 it's not too hard, bait the boss to attack from the front by standing directly in front of it. Then when you hear the sound cues that it's about to cover the floor in crystals and do the laser breath, run behind it as fast as you can and attack the tail that drops the blade.
Great guide! Only thing, if you're using the Oolacile Ivory Catalyst then you'll do the same damage regardless of your INT level.
Once you get past 27 INT, swap to a different catalyst as you'll begin to outpace the OIC.
I recommend the og sorcerer’s catalyst until 40 int in which logan’s is better

it actually has a lower magic adjust and does less damage.
@@chiccengreen1867 no it doesnt, it has an unchanging 180 mag adj, the best staff for low level mages. After you raised your int high enough, other staves begin to surpass it.

How is the hydra just missing you??? Every time I try to run by like that it absolutely destroys me with water bullets.
Wow helpful but mind telling me where you got that spear from it’d be a lot easier to take on the gold golem with it.
Undead Merchant sells it for 600 and sometimes drops in Undead Burg. Gold Pine Resin was used for lightning, also from Undead Burg.
But you're better off whacking it with the Morning Star. It's weak to Strike damage.
If you really want to be more op you can do the sens skip bug, free Logan and buy homing soulmass, at 31 int it will melt anything
To all of you struggling with the right position @ the rocks to the right near the hydra: Don't go as far right as you can. There are ferns on a rock near the water there, thats the position. It shows briefly in the video.
Bought 99 firebombs because I kept dying, then got the right position and now I have 65 bombs left...

The next step is to go up the ladder where the Hydra was, get the Enchanted Ember, and bring it to Rickert. Then farm the Crystal Golems for Blue Titanite, also where the Hydra was, and make your weapon Enchanted +9.

after the tutorial just go do sens skip, free logan, die, do prompt swap to use 999 souls and then buy stuff from logan. If i play sorcerer I always take that route. logan has all the goods from the other wizard plus a few ontop of it

First timer here. Killed the merchant. I read a message that said something like “watch out behind you” I got scared when I saw him so I killed him. Thought it was weird he spoke when he died. I tried going back to him in another life and he tries to kill me every time now. Idk what to do

Unfortunately this is not a beginner friendly guide at all, more so made for people who have played the game before but wanted an easy way to make an early game sorcerer build.
I have to do this again because I kept missing and wasted all my firebombs
I can't get more than two hits in (if I'm lucky) before the hydra rams me. Really need a bit more info here.
And how many firebombs do I need? I started with over 40, but after three deaths following your "face it and look up" method I'm down to 26. I hope that's enough.

make sure to have strength 10 and use the blue shield to block the hydra attacks, Throwing knives are also useful, you can lock onto the body but you need like 50 + knives

I'm trying to find a guide for an OP Sorcerer build for the old version of Dark Souls Prepare to Die Edition. But i'm only getting videos for the Remastered version of Dark Souls
Get dark bead and pursuers runes if you want to straight up one shot people.
This helps a lot im new to this series so this makes the game more easy cause i have died in less than 1hour like 500 times 😭

Ive killed that stupid golden golem on two of my characters and this time around it just wont die, Ive just spent the past eight hours attempting over and over and he either stunlocks me into a 2 hit kill or one shots me somehow right before hes about to die god I wish I never bought this game but 50 bucks is 50 bucks .-.
Yea he was a problem even when you face him mid-late game. Just gotta learn his attack patterns. The blue guys on the shore have the same attack pattern if I’m not mistaken to maybe practice on them

New guide on how to be an OP Sorcerer early in Dark Souls:
Step 1 - Choose the sorcerer class.
Step 2 - Learn how to attack.
Step 3 - You don't need anything else.
Early farm the 3 barbarians in cave 1500 souls get out to hollow dragon and go back to the cave 3 barbarians spawn again repeat it as a many times u want very early farming process any building u want to

I did everything and the fucking golems killed dusk, I hate my life
Can’t do the hydra, I can’t get past the crystal guys without getting hit and then he shoots his water at me and I’m dead, or he will just shoot water at me and one shot me or stagger me to let me get hit by the golems. When I finally manage to make it to where you showed I still got hit and my firebombs only hit like twice
There's a shield you can use if you go the opposite way at the bottom of the path leading down to this area that's guarded by a black knight.
Use that to block the Hydra water and stick to the left then before getting too close to the most left stone guy head diagonally across to the rock on the other side.
The spot she showed didn't work for me but there is a safe spot right near it, so use the shield to block hits till you find it.
Sorry I'm a year too late but this is how I managed to do it.

For those of us who don't know how to get to the darkroot basin, you left the part out on how to get there. After dying about 15 times trying to find my way from the blacksmith to the spot you're showing in the vid, I pretty much gave up. I ended up where the giant green moth boss was. Do you have to kill that boss to get to the location in the vid?
From the blacksmith go along the darkroot garden path and turn around after a few seconds and you'll see that there is another path leading up and then down. Go that way and then left to where the trees are.

I found it right away after reading your post. Believe it or not, I went that direction when I first got there to the Darkroot Garden Path and it just looked like a dead end with a long drop to certain death so I turned around and went the other direction. I didn't even see that the path switches back and continues on almost directly underneath where I was standing. Finally got it all done with the hydra and the golden crystal golem and everything else. Thanks again. Probably saved me from some serious frustration because I hadn't thought of going back up that path and re-checking it.
