I've always found Scaler 2's interface a bit complex and I'm delighted to see that version 3 seems to fix that. really very promising, can't wait to see more
Scaler was the first time I ever felt music theory be practical and have it click in my brain - it has taught me so much. This is in a large way the best vst in my library.
I prefer Scaler 2’s layout. In this version, the panels hide more, and the Chord Sets are tucked away in a menu you have to scroll through. In Scaler 2, all the Chord Sets are visible at once, which I find more convenient.
I see in there in Motions, there is now a USER motions selector - you guys listened and made it happen. Super cool and looking forward to seeing you demo that.
This looks brilliant. My only criticism of Scaler 2 was the UI. The feature set was always solid but I only discovered many of the features through the Scaler 2 course because I would never have worked it out for myself because it wasn't very intuitive. It looks like you've knocked it out of the park with Scaler 3. Amazing work from everyone involved.
Just, thank you David, and team!!! I just want to acknowledge that you tried to satisfy all types of request and wished it had, and out of all of them, worked on what it makes more logical sense to you the creator!!!!!
This is great update, so much more friendly, intuitive and easier to use!. Everything looks far more natural now, if that makes sense. I've been with scaler since scaler 1 and this upadate will probably make me use scaler a lot more. Looking forward to the release! Awesome work!
The chord browser and modulation workflow getting redesigned to be vastly more intuitive--in addition to an in-app multi-track sequencer is a godsend. 🔥 I wish Scaler3 was already out
Finally, you can change the length of the chord visually, instead of using mathematics. That was the only thing a hated about the previous Scalers. so glad that now you can create broken chords intuitively.
I haven't been using Scaler for long but I did find it a bit annoying I was having to calculate ratios to get the right chord length so this is good to hear.
Wow, really impressed by the sleek new design of Scaler 3! I've been working on some custom chord packs that will be available for sale. I look forward to updating them to the latest version of Scaler 3 when it arrives in March.
Seems nice ! I only miss a Colored note mode, where for eg, C based chords are Red, D are yellow, E and green etc... instead of all notes blue. I opened a thread 5 years ago on the forum and it was in discussion.
I love Scaler 2, can't. wait to see it! So as a guitar player first, I would love to have some updated features for the Guitar Section eg. more Tunings (lower)... etc
AMAZING!!!! Frist, what a great job by the entire Scaler team. I have been a user since the very first release. Every update since has been nothing short of amazing, and this is by far the best one yet!! I always look forward to the updates (even the minor updates) and I absolutely love EVERYTHING you showcased here in the new Scaler 3- from the layout, the new look, the workflow improvements. Please tell everyone involve that your loyal users really do appreciate it!! I CAN'T WAIT FOR THE OFFICIAL RELEASE!!!!!!!!
Looks amazing! I really hope the guitar settings can limit the chords to mimic how a real guitar with 6 strings would sound. I have all of the guitars from Native Instruments and I'm hoping that Scaler 3 with those plugins will be the perfect marriage. So much easier to change the length of a chord + the possibility to no longer limit the amount of chords. I really think this will be a gamechanger for a lot of people.
Nice looking interface, David, but could you make it a bit less spacious? The lines in the sections could be slimmer to save precious real estate on the screen. I always find it annoying when a design uses more space than necessary, even more so on mobiles. Great to see so many functions easily accessible. Thanks for the work you put in!
First off, Davide and team, v3 looks very pretty and I am excited and hopeful reading about the (as yet not revealed) functions which MAY address my biggest wishes for v3, time will tell. I’ve only had Scaler 2 for few months, and had initially thought I’d be able to use Scaler2 in the following ways, but I discovered (for me) it had some crucial missing functionality to do the basic task of helping me jam within a scale. I need that as I am not a pianist… so I wanted Scaler to have these (similar) things: 1/ ability to be able to dynamically follow a chord progression on the DAW so that when you are jamming using scaler, it restricts your notes to those within the currently detected DAW track’s chords/scale 2/ ability to be able to set a chord progression in scaler, to jam with that restricting your notes (can do this already) BUT to also be able to choose to record to your midi track only the notes you are jamming, and to not include the chord progression notes you’re jamming to. 3/ to create a chord progression in scaler 3, then assign a midi out for the chord progression, and then SEPARATELY create a midi output for your jamming along… so you can separately record the chord progression on one DAW track and the jammed bit on another DAW track. which would be amazing for grabbing your spontaneous jamming I’ve LOVE to beta test with my Studio One 7 Pro… especially for the possibility my needs will be met by new features such as Scaler 3 being a “proper” instrument, and also “Multi-Lane Timeline” whereby “The Arrange page now includes a timeline-based layout with dedicated lanes for chords, melody, bass, and phrases. Each lane is synchronized with the main chord track, and clips are fully adjustable with independent control per lane or clip.” That may just answer all my feature requests… holding thumbs!!! Mark.
Hey Mark, this type of useful feedback is best posted over at our community forum.scalermusic.com where all our developers, creatives and users hang out and everyone can chip in!
Please, please include a preference for increasing the font contrast in the main window. My vision isn't the best these days, and it's a strain to read low-contrast type. Otherwise, I'm very excited about the new release!
One of the longest standing issues with scaler is how difficult it is to scroll through the scales(the bottom half), i'm really happy to see we can now resize this section but its difficult to see if this can be expanded to the top as you stop half way in the demo.
@ Needs to be unlimited in the arrangement window (which we haven’t seen yet) so you can complete an entire composition before transfer to a DAW, or in standalone mode, should you want to
Looks great, esp. the motion browser. Question: Will Scaler 3 allow me to filter scales by root note? It's a big "pain point" In Scaler 2 for me. When I choose a few notes to see what scale fits them, Scaler often produces a very long list of matching scales. I want to be able to filter this list by saying, "ok, I only want to see scales where the root note is Ab". Browsing through a long, unsorted list of scales (with very low text contrast!) is never what I'm looking forward to. And yes, more contrast please, we don't all have perfect eyesight. A brightness setting for text vs background would be perfect.
Yes indeed, that is what Davide is doing in this video, notice the darker note being the first note he selects? That is the Root note and the scale list filters by root! ruclips.net/video/0dvmQ1AUwWY/видео.htmlsi=yWag0q0huNOwgyCn&t=54
Fantastic. In my head it makes more sense to go from 'Current Scale' to 'Chords' to 'Main Track'. Like, I'd pick the key/scale, then choose the chords from that scale, then add movement to those chords. Wonder if anyone else feels like that order makes more sense? Or maybe I've misunderstood something.
I am looking forward to the release of Scaler 3. I would like to know if it will be possible to split audio files into stacks in the future? I ask this because in Scaler 2 there is a good definition of chords, but I would also like not only the general chords and tonality was determined, but also to divide the audio file into stacks and that Scaler gave each track chords and notes for the melody. It is clear that this is difficult and expensive, but still I would like to have such a tool in Scaler 3.5:)
For those who are new to music theory, it can seem quite complex. Personally, I couldn't grasp about 50% of what you shared, Demonstrating sound examples in your upcoming videos could really help us understand the practical applications better. The content you provided in this video didn't click with me and probably with many others as well, thus making that plugin worthless, so letting us hear real examples of the possibilities of this plugin would truly be invaluable.
I've always found Scaler 2's interface a bit complex and I'm delighted to see that version 3 seems to fix that. really very promising, can't wait to see more
Ditto XD This new look reminds me a bit of CodeFN42 plugins which I've always liked a lot.
I like that the interface is more in your face and not hidden features. Looks like a good update.
Absolutely!
Right!? This has me so excited :D
Scaler was the first time I ever felt music theory be practical and have it click in my brain - it has taught me so much. This is in a large way the best vst in my library.
Taking away the limit on the number of chords in section C is a game changer!
I prefer Scaler 2’s layout. In this version, the panels hide more, and the Chord Sets are tucked away in a menu you have to scroll through. In Scaler 2, all the Chord Sets are visible at once, which I find more convenient.
Scaler is like the "Zyklus - Direct Machine" used by Vangelis of the 21st Century! Thanks guys!
I see in there in Motions, there is now a USER motions selector - you guys listened and made it happen. Super cool and looking forward to seeing you demo that.
love the changes! Very excited for the release of this upgrade
Piano board keys and expressions AT THE BOTTOM is a THANK YOU SO MUCH change. LOVE the midi graphics in Motions!!!!!1
Looking forward as always. Can't wait to try it. Cheers

@@corasundae that was super anoying. i can fully relate.
Getting rid of roadblocks in Scaler 2 has always been Davide's priority whilst improving the user experience.
Wow, really impressed by the sleek new design of Scaler 3! I've been working on some custom chord packs that will be available for sale. I look forward to updating them to the latest version of Scaler 3 when it arrives in March.
This is amazing! Loving the updates
30 seconds in. it's looking beautiful!!!! nothing like a refreshing feeling of a new UI.
THIS IS A MUST BUY!!!!
Very excited 🔥
Thanks Davide, looks so fresh, easier and modern
Looks fantastic. I have Scaler 2 for PC and also iPad, so I’m hoping to get a version 3 of both. Very exciting!
Hey Ed. Just the iPad version for me but this is looking very promising.
Seems nice ! I only miss a Colored note mode, where for eg, C based chords are Red, D are yellow, E and green etc... instead of all notes blue. I opened a thread 5 years ago on the forum and it was in discussion.
I just got 2! I"m looking forward to this!
This looks really clean! Can't wait to get to check this out!
I LIKE THIS IT MAKES IT MORE INTUITIVE LIKE HOW THE NEW MPCS ARE IM STARTING TO NOTICE HOW MUSIC PRODUCTION IS BECOMING MORE INTUITIVE NOW
I love Scaler 2, can't. wait to see it! So as a guitar player first, I would love to have some updated features for the Guitar Section eg. more Tunings (lower)... etc
love yall thank you
Thank you for supporting

Counting the days 😊 cannot wait 🔥
It’s great to see Scaler evolving at pace . Thankfully no mention of AI . I wish the team an avalanche of success with Scaler 3 and beyond.
Looking forward to upgrading from 2 to 3, GUI looks great.
Ready for the upgrade from 2. Awesome updates for an awesome tool for all musicians!😃
Awesome! Can't wait to get my hands on this...
Looks like a solid UI overhaul, looking forward to seeing some new features over the next few weeks!
Take my money. love it.
You seem to have done a great amount of work to make this so much more usable. Im really looking forward to diving in to the system! ❤
So looking forward to Scaler 3!!!
Lookin' good
Looks really good! The new look seems even more intuitive! I'm excited to see the rest and check it out.
Revolutionary, if i may dare say ❤
I really can't wait for this to drop already.
Awh I can’t wait to see more!
Awesomeness.. waiting 👍🏾
I can't wait to use it!
GUI looks much more friendlier to navigate. Nice work !
Hype hype, this looks really well re-designed.
Scaler is awesome, I recommend it to everybody, lol.
Great! Will there be an upgraded discount for Scaler 2 owners?
Yes of course. We will look after all of our users and supporters.
Unreal, brilliant work David, the anticipation is starting to bite just a little......
Will you all be covering the "explore" page later? That is my main concern with this new version.
Yes of course, nothing to be concerned about. Davide mentioned he will cover it next few weeks! We are having lots of fun with Explore. It's great!
I don't think I've ever been actually Excited for a plugin before....Maybe in 2017 when Superior Drummer 3 was announced but thats about it.
Davide!!!! You are the MAN in the forums bro!!!
First off, Davide and team, v3 looks very pretty and I am excited and hopeful reading about the (as yet not revealed) functions which MAY address my biggest wishes for v3, time will tell.

@scalermusic hi, thanks, I have done 👍🏼
@@scalermusichi, yep, I've shared it on the forum too... thanks.
Ahh mate. The timing changes are worth the upgrade alone. Awesome.
Hi Davide
I can't wait to see whats new in Scaler 3
For me as a hobbyist Scaler 2 has taught me a lot and really helped me sound much better,he,he
It’s made me sound much better too🎉😂
Super excited about this release, thank you!
Will you be creating a new Scaler 3 Official Course on School of Synthesis? That would be awesome to get right into the deep end with this. Thanks!
Please, please include a preference for increasing the font contrast in the main window. My vision isn't the best these days, and it's a strain to read low-contrast type. Otherwise, I'm very excited about the new release!
Scaler 2 is already one of my most used plugins. I'm looking forward to the next iteration. 🤘
One of the longest standing issues with scaler is how difficult it is to scroll through the scales(the bottom half), i'm really happy to see we can now resize this section but its difficult to see if this can be expanded to the top as you stop half way in the demo.
Expands all the way to the top bar!
The interface is looking really good. Excited to see the next few videos.
Really looking forward to Scaler 3 looks amazing!
This looks great! And just two weeks ago I purchased the Scaler 2 deep dive course.
And me too 😮
WOW 🎉 I’m sooo looking forward to this release. Nice. Congrats 🎉 🍾
Can't wait to try it! ❤
Very nice, can't wait.
I will miss the pulsating flashing highlights from different selections from Scaler 2😪. Just loving that eye candy,🤩 please make it in Scaler 3 also🤗🙏
Please release it as soon as you can on iOS/iPadOS
It's already on sale for $49 bucks on PluginBoutique!
Looking good so far - a choice of a color note change would be a nice addition 👍
looking forward to using it
Can't wait. 💓 I would install beta version if available.
Awesome. Thanks for sharing.
It seems to be very useful and intuitive.
I need it on the go on the iPhone
Instant buy.
Hope the limit on the number of chords is lifted so you can actually arrange a whole composition in one session
They mentioned that it was early in the video
@ Needs to be unlimited in the arrangement window (which we haven’t seen yet) so you can complete an entire composition before transfer to a DAW, or in standalone mode, should you want to
Cant wait 💯
Really nice
man, this looks sooo promising!!! excited to find out about the final upgrade price for S2 user!
so far so good
Cool 😎
pumped
Very familiar 🔥
Much obliged
Looks great, but it seems that keys lock is still limited to a narrow range of notes. Why not the entire keyboard?
You can now use the entire keyboard, more to be revealed soon!
Scaler 3 looks like it’s moved a bit closer to EZKeys 2 while keeping itself unique as Scaler 3.
Looks great, esp. the motion browser. Question: Will Scaler 3 allow me to filter scales by root note? It's a big "pain point" In Scaler 2 for me. Suddenly March seems like it's a year away!
Yihaaa … can‘t wait 🚀🥳
Can you make the guitar neck bigger without using the Mac’s zoom in? It would be cool if you can choose to view specifics parts of the neck too.

will you be including the Hardstyle genre regarding chords and scales?
