I have an original 1965 Super Reverb, with original speakers, and my pedal board ( ok, they're just on the floor ) consists of: Boss DS-1 Distortion, MXR Echoplex, Vox Wah and original foot switch for the Rev & Trem. The tone of the amp it's self clean is to die for! For my taste, I believe in KISS: Keep It Simple Stupid! And that fits me to a tee.😆
You hit all the key stuff. I have been using the Mutron Phasor III for phase sounds and for Leslie. It can do both really well and it is lush sounding, not thin. Could use that instead of the Tremolo and Chorus.
Good timing for me on this video. I just made two boards for two different amps. I was tired of switching out pedals when going between amps. For my 67 Super Reverb I have a TC tuner-Wampler Clarcksdale-Mad Professor golden cello (for leads with a little bit of delay) and end it with a MXR phaser. I have a 1982 JCM 800 and it’s board differs with using a different style distortion which is a JRockett Archer. Tuner - Archer- Mad Professor golden cello (yep I bought two of them!) -JRockett Boing for reverb. The boing was the best reverb pedal that I’ve found to use with no effects loop. Small boards but it works for me
Me and you both! I'm building two boards myself. One is a stereo or wet/dry board for a dual 5W Champ rig, the other is a large board ideally suited for two amps (but I'm designing it for one in particular) - my HiWatt T20/10 head (Two 1x12" cabs. A Bassbreaker 112 extension cab loaded w/Celestion V-Type, one a Jet City 112 cab loaded with a Greenback that came with my JCA20H amp) and the second amp being my Laney VC30 2x10", made in UK, an earlier model with Jensens. If I wanna run both I'll use an ABY like with my dual Champs, but I'm really focused on making that HiWatt sound as awesome as possible. Eventually I will get a better cab and speakers for it. 2x12 Fanes or maybe G12-M 65/G-12H 75, ya know? Creambacks, maybe a Vintage 30 and a Creamback would sound good in a 2x12?
Makes perfect sense! I have 3 pr 4 'ideal combos' of pedals depending more on the guitar I'm using than a given amp (usually go in DI) and then at the back end a 'Leslie' (Ventilator II), TC Electronic Alter Ego & Flasback, Strymon Flint & Big Sky. Personal faves up front are Effectrode Blackbird, Crowther Double Hotcake, MojoMojo & Cali 76.
I have a first world problem. My pedal board is constantly changing depending on the guitar, amp, the genre I'm chasing,a nd the phase of the moon. Ive tried to narrow it down to one board but I've found that's impossible without building the bridge of the Enterprise. There's just not one board that does everything with all of my guitars and amps. Right now I have 3 pedalboards in my music room, and even then I wind up changing things all the time. I blame the internet and being retired with a comfortable income. In the rare instances I play out I wind up just throwing together a specific minimum board for the amp and main guitar Im gonna use and for whatever the gig absolutely requires.
Great idea and video! I think you sound the best when playing through your Super Reverb. That Katana really brings the amp to life. I use one sandwiched between a T-Rex Comp Nova and a Keeley Comp+. Sometimes I use an RC Booster instead, depending on the amp. We also love our Vick Mount Pleasant and Lucy Dreamers, don't we? ;) Actually some of the other ideas have helped me make a couple of changes to my dual 5W Champ Stereo/Wet-Dry rig. Champ specs for nerds are:12AX7 (#1) 12AU7 (#2) pres, 6V6 pwer amp valves (Mullards) and they're valve rectified 5y3. I'm struggling with my Rotary/Chorus/Detune tones. That Seafoam is rad! And I forgot I own a Wampler Velvet Fuzz! Been using an MI Audio Effects GI Fuzz but it's geared towards higher headroom amps. Those Champs are an awesome bedroom/small cafe/club gig setup. But yes, Jack through a Super is my favourite Jack. 2nd is probably the tones you get through your Marshall JVM. Close 3rd equal are the Supro & Laney VC30 you own and have often played. Any chance of a board for those amps? The VC30 in particular could be interesting. If you do choose to upload one or two of these, with one about a board for the Laney - try a Keeley Red Dirt Germanium. ;) I'm still figuring out my VC30 2x10" (UK model, early production run) but that pedal is gold with that amp Thanks for your hard work! Much appreciated
What is your thoughts of using a delay and reverb direct to your amp. I heard the best sound for these effects etc.. considering that fender amps normally do not have an effect loop?
When your daughter becomes a mommy (let's assume she does, has kid(s), and then you become Grandpa Jumping Jack Flash :) ) you should get the Lucydreamer Supreme 😂
Jack I never realised the SR is so fussy about drive pedals, I don't like the tones you got in this video at all, to my ears the tones were varying degrees of thin.

I use a Ckarksdale with my Blues Junior IV :) Love that pedal!!

Wow. Great board and, as always, great tones. I really enjoyed the sound of the Seafoam.
Especially when you have over 120,000 on your engine.

I’ve never had a problem with it because I run the amps clean.
😢what is the fantastic video this one have a wonderful day Jack also how is the weather today ❤😊

Seventh baby coming soon - it’s more than likely that at some point, I’ll be Grandpa Jack!
@@JackFossett All right now! It's a gas gas gas!
Congratulations!
A Super on 7 is a completely different amp than when its on 3.
And way too loud for realistic situations. The loudest I've ever played this one live is on 5 (low gain input) and that was on a big stage.
I actually got a power station to use with mine. Atteniators are great for these non master amps. best@@JackFossett

Awesome bro!!
