One could make a successful argument this is their best song to date. I can't imagine a time this song would come on where I didn't stop whatever I was doing to listen to it. Amazing!
this is my new addiction. i have found myself listening to this song on repeat and still wanting to continue listening to it. to say the least, good work yeasayer
This album just owns. Somehow I hated most songs when I first listened to it, so I do understand the critics. But it grew on me and now I just cant believe I used to live in the darkness missing this out!
This is my FW favorite. The way it goes danceable and catchy from a slow and emotional start. Just great. If they (only by chance) made the song longer, it would become a potential dancefloor hit!
Wow, we kinda get to know how close we are to yeasayer by the views. One of the first 300. I had their first album and took TN with me at Bonnaroo to see them. Thanks Yeasyer for giving back to the fans. It is fun to hear your grow. Peace
"everyone can`t be wrong". This FW has some really cool songs - this "Glass...", "Demon Road" or "Fingers Never bleed", but altogether it`s the worst of their albums. While listening to it seems like they didn`t know where to go with the songs structure and didn`t "filter" all the ideas. But it`s still one of my favorite bands! And I`m still waiting for them to come to Portugal.
To be honest when it comes to cohesiveness I feel this album pulls it off a bit better than "Odd Blood". Odd Blood felt all over the place, like it was mashed together and was never always 100% there (i still loved it though). I think with "Fragrant World" they really did a better job with a consistent motif: choppy and sometimes disjointed beats, lush synths, gritty yet colourful guitars. Also "Fingers Never Bleed" and "Damaged Goods" be my jam right now.
This is the recorded deathdream taken by a person after the moon hit us. Im thinkin its aliens, the moon would make a great weapon against us. This is what they play to a brain regaining consciousnesses that came from a person killed in all the devastation. Headphones makes it awesome.
Best not to pay them any mind. Plus this album took me a bit until I appreciated more than Henrietta and Longevity. Ian Cohen was the Pitchfork reviewer, and he seems like someone who needs predictability and a linear progression in the artists (reviews are incredibly infused with comparing to the last album from that band). He gave Tame Impala a 9.0 for Lonerism, so clearly he's not deaf, just wants a band to do what he expects.
"Tilt your head back and don't choke Under the glass of the microscope" I got the image of work camp prisoners looking up to find not a showerhead but a vent through which the lethal gases were administered. Hold strong against those who oppress you. (I feel like there are more than a few bands who are becoming more conscious of the state of the world and who are reflecting that in their music...)
Gotta say the album gets better everytime we hear it. Much better than it looked in the beginning.

You do realize RUclips doesn't update view counts per view? Got here through Pitchfork, no shame to admit it, and still "303 views".
'glass of the microscope'
This sounds extremely similar to 'Wizard' by Clams Casino.
"Tilt your head back and don't choke
Under the glass of the microscope"
