REO Speedwagon Time For Me To Fly Bass Cover Spector/Line6/Zoom/Canon

What's up?! They're coming fast and furious now, LOL! The Out Of Quarantine Jams are starting to flow. Getting ready to head to bed and I thought I'd try something else. Still not too pleased with what I'm getting, so I'll continue to tweak settings. I also wanted to do something with my Spector NS-4 equipped with the Fishman Fluence System. I love the system, it definitely sounds like a Spector, but I need to work on doing more through my DAW(using LUNA). It's just so much easier recording from the Helix straight into the Zoom H6, and running that audio directly into the Canon, it just doesn't sound as good, so that's my next project.

As an 80's kid that wanted to play music, I listened to EVERYTHING! Although my first love is 80's metal(I'll get to that, trust me!) I do have an unabashed love for 80's pop! You're gonna see A LOT of 80's pop if you hang out on my channel, LOL! REO Speedwagon was definitely one of the biggest bands of the 80's pop revolution! This was a fun one to throw together.
Bruce Hall is a fantastic bass player, and this track shows how a great bass player can craft a killer bass part that fits the song perfectly, isn't overly complex, but is still super interesting! Not 100% sure if they're tuned to D-standard or Dropped D Standard, but it works either way. That little riff right before the last chorus floors me every time! That's some badassery right there.
Interesting trivia-It took Kevin Cronin 10 YEARS to write that song! Took a road trip, played a guitar in a weird tuning, came up with the verses, and then it sat for A DECADE! Right before they went in to record You Can Tune A Piano, But You Can't Tuna Fish, 10 YEARS after he started the song, he came up with the chorus. The rest is history...;-)
