@@azaziel Please let me remind you that French has been the language used in all diplomatic exchanges during a period that lasted over 2 centuries (18th, 19th + early 20th). Back then, people who had the opportunity to learn foreign languages would choose French rather than English. So, it's no big surprise that Atatürk and the American ambassador have this conversation in French. Plus : President Atatürk was a man of culture and yes, he certainly had a preference for France.
