Have you tried the dm801? It's a fantastic light and had for years now. Even bought a second for the loft/ power cuts etc. I still have the original Makita light/torch but in comparison it's useless!
Good day sir, thanks for reaching out, you know what iv never had a dm801 and not known any work colleague who had one so not seen it in action!!, bloody hell I want one now you have told me about them, sometimes cool tools just slip under the radar, I'v been so used to using my torch for directional close work and the work light for bigger space lighting I didn't put the 801 in the mix, to many cool tools, not enough space in my van!!! You know what is one of the best things about having a you tube channel?, not thinking I'm going to be the next Mr beast but the exchange of ideas?!!! Keep on rocking the free world 🤘🤘
Good question dude, it all depends on the work you do, let's say your cutting steel ie thick rebars and angle irons and such the 40v grinder is awesome, same with the sds, if your drilling allot of 15/20mm diameter holes and diamond core drilling 40v is awesome,I'm not going to get the 40v impact driver because I don't need to put in huge screws and coach bolts, my 18v impact will drive in 120mm screws all day long and I hardly ever put screws in that big, in regards why I have got 3 xgt tools, I'm a massive makita fan and I'm very lucky I can afford to pay nearly £1000 for tools I only need 10% of the time, buuuut if I need xgt for that heavy job iv got it and get a nightmare job done quickly and save money, so to summarise small to medium and a tiny bit of heavy work 18v lxt is perfect

I have a good selection on 18v makita tools that do the job, would you say it is worth upgrading to 40v ? Or not .
