  • Lake Olbolosat is an important wetland and is home to a variety of bird species, including the endangered Sharpe's longclaw and the African fish eagle. The lake and its surrounding ecosystem also support several other wildlife species, such as hippos, otters, and various fish species.
However, the lake is facing several environmental challenges, including pollution and degradation of its ecosystem. The lake's water quality has deteriorated in recent years due to human activities such as deforestation, agricultural practices, and the discharge of untreated wastewater into the lake. Additionally, the lake's water level has been decreasing, partly due to the effects of climate change and human activities.
Efforts are underway to conserve and protect Lake Olbolosat, including restoration of its ecosystem and sustainable use of its resources. The local community and government agencies are working together to address the environmental challenges facing the lake and its surrounding ecosystem.

Alot has gone wrong there. That lake is a gem that has to be restored. Best route to the lake is usually through Kasuku/Weru towards Kichakani
