I know no one asked but I'm kind of in the same situation. my mixed voice can go up to a G6 but it gets very strained and sounds awful. the highest I can go before that starts happening is a D6, which also happens to be the highest note I can reach with my head voice.

Fair enough, but you can't deny that Vanessa has a better technique in belting and lows. When it comes to head voice I prefer Park Kiyoung's, mainly because Vanessa's is underdeveloped, but it has a lot of potential. I can't get enough of Park Kiyoung's head voice, it's just so beautiful. I reckon combine Vanessa's lows and mix with Park Kiyoung's head voice and it would be heaven.

Her A5 from 12:06 was a headvoice, also thier are quite alot of headvoice considered here as chestmix here. Her C6 was definitely headvoice, her F6 is a headvoice. Her high belt ever reached was Bb5 from performance "from now on" Also, she doesn't use balanced mix but head dominant chestmix up to Bb5. She is classically trained, her operatic headvoice is amazing, can sustain C6 for nearly 10seconds. Her tessitura is very similar to Sohyang except that her mix isn't well developed as Sohyang.

It doesn't matter how thin something is, if it's using full chord closure and is even 1% mixed it's belting. Her A5+ is thinner than Sohyang's yes but she has a healthier belt and can literally belt to F6. I've seen men do it since we just don't require much power up there after B5, but for a Soprano to do so is INSANE lol.

Belt requires mixing techniques and some singers are capable of making headvoice sound like belt by slightly mixing base, but it is still a headvoice. Furthermore, her F6 wasn't mixed at all and most male singer uses headvoice and a very few singers have female tessitura with based on chestmix.

@Tortelini Is not that I don't believe in vocal pedagogy, I'm just learning it in another way, because I'm more focused on the speech pattern. While you here better placement, I hear different placement, a more rock-ish tone. SoHyang has a more pop voice than Kiyoung. Sohyang sings with a more "crying" voice, a more "covered" sound, since she sings with very open vowels, that's why she can go very high. While Kiyoung doesnt cover her voice as much while belting, but she cover her voice more whe singing in head voice.
Park Kiyoung is a brilliant singer. I watched her performances on IS2 so I can see how she sings a entire song. She sings with the proper emotions, phrasing, dynamics, and projection. Yes she can sing high notes and they are not grating to my ears unlike the screeches of the more popular Sohyang. Singing is not about the high notes alone. Kiyoung can actually sing classical/opera, rock, r&b, pop, ballad, etc unlike other belters who do not know how to sing other genres but just knows how to belt all the time without dynamics. Park Kiyoung can also sustain high notes and change from high to lower tones or lower to high tones with ease. Too bad her rendition of The Prayer is not here.

She has more control over her belting than SoHyang, much more. People who says Park technique is bad are ignorant people. Park technique is insane, no way SoHyang could do a diminuendo in a C6 and going back to back belting to a breathy tone.

Girl, this was nonsense lol. Neither of them have much dynamic control around C6, but Sohyang's dynamics aren't done at the compromise of placement like Kiyoung's.

@Tortelini Is not that I don't believe in vocal pedagogy, I'm just learning it in another way, because I'm more focused on the speech pattern. While you here better placement, I hear different placement, a more rock-ish tone. SoHyang has a more pop voice than Kiyoung. Sohyang sings with a more "crying" voice, a more "covered" sound, since she sings with very open vowels, that's why she can go very high. While Kiyoung doesnt cover her voice as much while belting, but she cover her voice more whe singing in head voice.
She’s actually an amazing singer though, she just tends to go above her supported range.

Park Kiyoung is a brilliant singer. I watched her performances on IS2 so I can see how she sings a entire song. She sings with the proper emotions, phrasing, dynamics, and projection. Yes she can sing high notes and they are not grating to my ears unlike the screeches of the more popular Sohyang. Singing is not about the high notes alone. Kiyoung can actually sing classical/opera, rock, r&b, pop, ballad, etc unlike other belters who do not know how to sing other genres but just knows how to belt all the time without dynamics. Park Kiyoung can also sustain high notes and change from high to lower tones or lower to high tones with ease. Too bad her rendition of The Prayer is not here.

i think we can all agree that after F5 that mix doesn’t have as nice as a tone, and once it reaches the 6th octave, it gets really thin and rough kinda. but the falsetto is nice :). just my opinion ✨

Cốm xanh, I'm not sure myself. But she used to sing Rock back in the day, she's also classically trained apparently. So maybe she picked up the tension over time. Could have came from singing rock music to make a certain sound
