The 2001 set is incredible. It cannot be understated how a good set design can really add to a PPV. Back in the day I’d always look forward to seeing what design each PPV had.
@@IkeWarchol302 What baffles me is he doesn't realize he can get creative with his LED fetish, too. It's not the screens themselves that are the issue, it's that he wants to use the exact same ones whenever he can.
@@MrPajamaShark Indeed. From 2008-2013ish we seen HD PPV Sets that had unique elements even if they did re-use some pieces from the universal weekly TV set at times. I was disappointed in 2013 or 2014 when they started using the exact same set with only different Graphics. Before we lost crowds, it was nice to see PPVs had their own set completely different than RAW and SD but that set feels so normal now as it's the base of the Thunderdome set.
Great to see this series back man, Awesome, 2001 stage is without a doubt my favourite, whenever I see that stage, I think of the iconic bout between Kurt Angle vs Shane McMahon
You should do a "compilation" edition of Arena Showcase featuring "one hit wonder" PPV's such as Great Balls of Fire, Fatal 4-Way, Invasion, Breaking Point, Capitol Punishment, One Night Only 97 and more. Great video! One of my favourite series of your channel.
The electric chair is one of my favorite set designs. In the WWE Shut Your Mouth video game, you could climb up it and jump off. Another good memory of the set is in 2001, Kurt Angle threw Shane McMahon through the glass panels of the set. One of my favorite matches.
The Stage Design of a Wrestling Pay Per View is one of my favorite things about older Wrestling event, Growing up during the Attitude and Ruthless aggression eras that was something I always looked foreword to seeing from an event. Even now going back and watching old WCW content I still feel the same way, It's amazing how a stage really helps with the atmosphere of an event. The fact that I just discovered a series that Showcases them is an incredible find! I hope to see more content like this from your Channel!
Thanks! I think current promotions fail to realize how important the atmosphere can be for us fans, it really sets the stage and makes a memorable experience.
Would love to see survivor series, summerslam, unforgiven, no mercy, vengeance, and judgment day just to name a few haha this series is great the entrance stages were my favorite part of ppvs back in the day.
To be honest I rather see the KOR tournament again over money in the bank. I'm so tired of the match and think it's ran its course. Plus KOR seems like it could really make a star because they had to get through so many others to get the KOR and maybe they could a stipulation when you win the tournament you get a future title at the next ppv.
Always loved your Arena Showcase videos. If possible do some Attire Showcase videos like you did for Razor Ramon. As always, appreciate and enjoy your work.
TNA/GFW Impact/Impact Wrestling would be a perfect episode of Arena Showcase, since their aesthetic changes constantly, especially when the ring goes from 6 sides to 4 and back again.
I'd like to see more Arena Showcase videos. I love your videos you should do WWF/WWE Judgement Day Arena Showcase the set designs were just outstanding
I always enjoyed King of the Ring in the 90s. It seemed like a good way to get a mid carder over without having to take anything away from the top guys. On a side note, you remember DDP being crowned “Lord” of the Ring in WCW at Slamboree I believe. That didn’t last very long.
Maaan! I'm really glad you back on the tube. I remember your review of WCW Thunder show. What about Reviewing old WCW show's more often right now? I'm really liked your reviews because you're knew a lot of things about WCW.
Man, this is so great that this series returned. Would you make some for ECW and TNA PPV's? The big ones like November 2 Remember (ECW), and Bound For Glory & Slammiversary (TNA)?
I miss the old video wall screen near the entrance and how each Wrestler had their own trademark graphic that would display right as they walked by it; good times.
For some reason the 2002 first half I believe accidently showed the WWE Entertainment aprons rather than their own. (maybe that was for heat and they forgot to change it.)
@@NikateeN After the event, my dad took me and my friends to the area in the parking lot where the wrestlers would come out. There was alot of traffic and an ambulance came out. I'm Glad Arena Showcase is back, but I would like to share some things I've noticed on this video. First of all, please fix the pronunciation. It's not Swords (Swoords) It's Swords, (W is silent). Secondly, the 1997 King of the Ring was the last version of the King of the Ring to feature the old school ring aprons, with the logo, and the entryway with that same logo, and the throne, until 2006 sans the King's Throne, Scepter, Robe, and Crown, and was only used bi-yearly. And Thirdly, the 1998 King of the Ring utilized the same entryway used since the Royal Rumble 1998 and then ended at the same event in 1999, before utilizing different Entryway styles during the Attitude Era.
Suggestion video: Many people complaint about todays wrestling being uninteresting and way focused on kids... i agree with them as i am an attitude and early ruthless agression era fan, but were no longer in the 90s anymore and what was fun back in the day, could become way to controversial today. 2001 King of the ring is the best.
King of the ring was an awesome ppv. I really hope it comes back one day. Also can do SmackDown next for arena showcase? I would love to see that
Possibly. That one will take me quite a while to complete.

Yay you're back and you doing the KotR stages. Favs are 2000-02
I've been waiting so long for these to return. So glad to have you back nikateen
The 2000 King of the Ring was the very first ppv I ever saw. Though it was recorded on a vhs tape.

SD Shut your Mouth flashbacks with the electric chair set. Too good
I'm glad you brought this back...long time no see...you should do Clash of the Champions next. There was prob about 33 or 34 of those event.
That would be a big video! Good idea though for sure.
Did you know that the hardy boys were the door openers for the mid 90’s KOTR events?

I think it was 1996 where Ahmed slammed the doors so hard that they pretended to fall down.

The ridges on the 1998 KOTR Set were used a year later for WWF Fully Loaded 1999 but the lights were all red.
great video, be glad this 1 made it on here this time after that last one kept getting removed

I like the gigantic swords design from 2000 better than the gigantic throne from 2001 and 2002.
