    I am going to be moving up to 14u next year and I have been practicing to become a pitcher because my sister is a 18u pitcher and she always inspires me, but she also tends to focus on herself and doesn't really help me, but this video gave me wonderful tips that I need to know to become a good pitcher so thank you:)

      Hahahaha! The life of a pitcher... these are actually the new Nike softball turfs...so made specifically for softball. They tore like the second time I ever used them hahahah. They're super comfy and look awesome but wouldn't necessarily recommend them for pitchers! At least you can tell you're driving through on the right spot lol

    Jillian, I you guys do a GREAT job of explaining all of the pitching mechanics. Now that the sanctioning bodies have changed the rules to allow pitchers to start back or step back, could you do a video detailing how to maximize splitting your feet? How wide is too wide? How to properly load? When used incorrectly, how it can work against you etc. thank you in advance, Mike

    Just watched a video from Amanda Scarborough before this one. She has that big bend that you feel is unnecessary. I think I do agree with you though. Please don't think I'm here bashing anyone. I respect all of you accomplished pitchers out there trying to help out our girls. I'm just here looking for tips to help my daughter out. Thank you for your video.

      Ye I saw that vid too, the big bend seems to work for her very well. Ig it depends on the individual!

    I have a question, am in Alaska so it’s very hard to have a pitching instructor fly here in anchorage AK, My question is after releasing the the ball , and this is with beginning pitchers ages 12-13 yrs old,,,, when you release the ball what are the 2 differences between having palm of hand come up vs releasing the ball and turning your hand over counterclockwise? Is there a reason why this is performed,,,,, it would be much appreciated if you could explain the 2 differences.

    The fact of condemning the front foot up amazes me. Many, many elite pitchers tilt their foot up. Actually turned off the video when I heard that. My DDs pitching coach does it and is an elite pitcher. Others are Odyssey Alexanderf from JMU, and others from Oklahoma..

    Hi Jill how important is a strait arm circle to a softball pitcher? i mean does it have to perfectly strait?

    • @FastpitchPower
      @FastpitchPower  4 года назад +4

      A pitcher needs to have full relaxed extension in her arm. The elbow should NOT be LOCKED, however it should not be bent/collapsed either. A. good way I describe it to my students: stand with your arms relaxed by your sides. As if you were just standing talking to a friend. That's how your arm should be in the arm circle

    So how did Amanda Scarborough have such good success? Not sure there is a one size fits all to loading. Ground force production is ground force production.

    • @FastpitchPower
      @FastpitchPower  3 года назад +1

      Definitely. My point is that when pitchers do these big rock backs, especially younger pitchers, very often they do NOT get to that good load position and lose out on that good launch and ground force. Amanda was an elite pitcher who despite doing a big rock back was able to still get to that good load position. Many pitchers dont

    You should have practiced this delivery more before you filmed. Not sure everything you’re saying is accurate.
