This was such a beautiful home, and judging by the photos that Sharon is in, she looks happy and just waiting for the arrival of her baby. It's so sad. So so sad.

A friend of mine worked for the owner of this house after the murders, and then lived in the guest house for a time. They said it was an incredibly beautiful property...partially because, with so many windows, the rooms were filled with light.

Did you ever ask your friend if he/she was spooked about living there? Imagine coming out of the guest house and there is the same front lawn where Abigail Folger and Wojciech Frykowski's dead bodies were laying. Then there is the house where Sharon Tate and Jay Sebring were murdered in. Then the long drive way where Steven Parent body was found in his car. Too eerie and nightmarish for me despite how beautiful the house and views were....it would have been on my mind constantly!

George I loved the video you did on Sharon Tate's house and her. It was very well made. Enjoyed it. I think she would have given you praise for it if she were still alive. I truly miss her. She was so full of life and made others feel special. I was 16 at the time of her death and I can remember when it was on the news. It's etched into my brain. Also her poor little innocent baby boy Paul Richard had to suffer through all of this. He never got to experience life with his mother. Such a horrible shame.

We wonder why the obsession with Sharon Tate and her murder.
As I see it, the women of the pre-seventies had an aura of serene
femininity about them that has all but disappeared. Sharon Tate
somehow was able to convey the tenderness and loving feelings
through her pictures that we witness, even today, as associated with
her ever presence. It's difficult to describe the haunting feeling that
as males we can only allude to an era of the ultimate in tenderness
and femininity that will never again return. Sharon Tate miraculously
represents that lost vulnerability yet strength of the women of the past,
that we loved so much. Though she has passed, her aura will always
prevail, as what was once, attainable, thoughtful, all consuming love.

    • @jag894
      @jag894 11 лет назад +15

I don't disagree. But time would have made her more real, as time makes all men and women more real.
Had Sharon been given the blessing to age, she would have ultimately been mother to an obnoxious challenging teen. She would have probably seen her marriage to Polanski fall apart, as she was never the philanderer he was. She would have aged into a gorgeous older woman with more street smarts and would have left the sixties behind as well she should as a love-child persona serves no purpose after 25 or mothering a child.
I wish she'd been given the chance to show the world she was more than a sweet child with that gorgeous face. RIP beautiful lady.

Wow that's beautiful. I think more so she was a woman who had one foot in the past and one in the future. She was the epitome of a modern woman. She was trying to hold onto her femininity and 50's upbringing, but she was embracing the times and creating her own style. She was trying to remain independent, but at the same time stay traditional...marriage, family etc. I think most actresses of the time either dropped out and went the full on family route, or they were alone only focusing on their careers. Had she lived I truly believe she would have been the biggest actress of the 70's and early 80's. Probably winding down her career in the mid 80's by doing television something ala Dallas or Knots Landing lol. Hey...those were good shows!

@Topazthecat from Sharon's last interview, in London: "I'm just feminine. Women who are too intelligent and too busy to be successful tend to loose quite a lot of femininity and sexual attraction. Sexuality is a kind of energy. When women put too much energy to their private fame some of their sexual attraction gets lost. Roman is full of energy. I am the calm one in our marriage. I don't care much for activities and I don't have ambitions at all. It happens that a movie director stands in front of me, explaining things to me but my thoughts are elsewhere! Sometimes, I think I'm a little bit weird... does it show? I'm doing many different things though. But I don't care for politics and I don't read newspapers. For me it seems a waste of time. Roman becomes a little irritated of these behaviours sometimes. He has too much energy himself. He loves doing car races, he likes to fence, etc. I tried to fence once...but, the outfit you have to wear is pretty tight. I hate to wear tight clothes."

It one of the most persistent urban legends about the murders. According to Sharon Tate's younger sister Doris, Sharon didn't want company that night and wouldn't let Doris bring friends over to swim at the pool. Sharon and Roman's friend Jay Sebring was the only non-resident guest that night.

The actual owner of the house was Rudi Altobelli. Melcher was leasing the house from him. When he wanted to move out, he then rented the house to Roman & Sharon. Manson was pissed off at Melcher after he chose to NOT sign a recording contract with him. (Melcher later told many people that he thought Manson had music talent, but he was freaky & scared the hell out of him) That is when Manson sent his murderous, freaky killers to Cielo Drive. The following night, to the LaBianca's. SO senseless.

What a lovely home with its luxurious grounds and breathtaking views....such a crying shame that it was turned into a house of horror! 😢. I understand why the original house was torn down, and I agree with the decision to do that....I personally don't know anyone who would want to live in a home where such evil was unleashed on 5 innocent people! That being said, I don't understand Jeff Franklin's reason for building such a monstrosity in the original home's place. It's garish and completely overwhelms the 3 acres it sits on! It doesn't look like anyone's home....it looks like a hotel!

Would take that beautiful cottage where Sharon lived over the pseudo Moroccan mess that was built there any day. I wish that the Canyon neighbors could have prevented such a horrible place from being built and instead exercised some control and a house more in line with the other houses on the street could have been built. I’ve been to Cielo Drive. It’s still got that 70’s vibe with the eclectic homes built throughout the canyon.

Well what I'd say is it's the sign of the tines both then and now of what stands there on the canyon hillside. The property of the 1960s was a beautifully rural homely house with a lush rich backdrop of nature and tranquility. And clearly and terribly open to a gang of psychopaths hell bent on murder. What now stands there on the hill is an ugly sprawling Asian fused mansion compound with all the tech of security in mind to stop the unwanted from getting in. These Tate murders was 3 years before I was born but I grew up to know the shocking atrocities and knowing the industry lost one of it's brightest and arguably most beautiful women of the decade. I wouldn't imagine Roman has ever got over this terrible event, whatever guilt he might feel for losing Sharon and unborn baby. Maybe the teardown was the best thing, but we now at least have the vintage photos of the beautiful old home and Sharon in her prime. One of Hollywood's saddest ever true life stories.

What song is being played here? I thought this was going to be another video of 10050 Cielo Drive but the music compliments it to the point that it hit me right in the gut! It creates an eerie timeline starting out as very forlorn then building up to a crescendo - quite the amateurs masterpiece! Maybe it's because I remember those days, living in a once-in-a-lifetime decade that will never come again.

Hi Melanie, David had the Ghost Hunters up there at his home (the loft) type you say. It has several levels and he says it is haunted. The Ghost Hunters did an investigation on the house and they found a few EVPs of which I believe are Sharon. I can clearly make out the words on the EVPS they did. There were 2 that were recorded by Jay and Grant. The first sounded like " take ...take..take me out! " The second is really disturbing and this is what I made it out to be..."Where is the baby?!!!"
