This was such a beautiful home, and judging by the photos that Sharon is in, she looks happy and just waiting for the arrival of her baby. It's so sad. So so sad.
A friend of mine worked for the owner of this house after the murders, and then lived in the guest house for a time. They said it was an incredibly beautiful property...partially because, with so many windows, the rooms were filled with light.
Did you ever ask your friend if he/she was spooked about living there? Imagine coming out of the guest house and there is the same front lawn where Abigail Folger and Wojciech Frykowski's dead bodies were laying. Then there is the house where Sharon Tate and Jay Sebring were murdered in. Then the long drive way where Steven Parent body was found in his car. Too eerie and nightmarish for me despite how beautiful the house and views were....it would have been on my mind constantly!
Oh, thank you! I thought it was just me. I can't stand even looking at it. How much money did it take to ruin the landscape and the whole damn canyon for that matter. I think they were trying to say "Look at us. We got money up the ying yang. We are VERY IMPORTANT PEOPLE. Instead, the message I get is YUCK...YUCK WHAT THE HELL IS THAT? Oh, please, make it go away.
I was in that area a long time ago and I don't think we can get a true feel for what it looks like in person. I'd move away rather than have that monstrosity hitting me in the face everyday.
It's a shame they tore down the old house and replaced it with a hideous monstrosity. The old structure was really lovely and while it was the sight of a heinous crime, it was still beautiful and historically significant for Hollywood.

George I loved the video you did on Sharon Tate's house and her. It was very well made. Enjoyed it. I think she would have given you praise for it if she were still alive. I truly miss her. She was so full of life and made others feel special. I was 16 at the time of her death and I can remember when it was on the news. It's etched into my brain. Also her poor little innocent baby boy Paul Richard had to suffer through all of this. He never got to experience life with his mother. Such a horrible shame.
UGH...I truly can't stand the "new" house. - hideous, ostentatious, void of soul, cheap, badly designed. I am sure the inside is just as revolting. Too bad they had to destroy the original house. It was so charming, spacious, outside was appropriately landscaped. The whole house had a sweeping wind kind of quality to it and I am sure anyone with any taste could see that.
I can see why Sharon Tate fell in love with that house. I never knew how beautiful it was because of the ugliness that took place inside. I'm they tore it down. Too many bad memories. So sad.

I don't disagree. But time would have made her more real, as time makes all men and women more real. Had Sharon been given the blessing to age, she would have ultimately been mother to an obnoxious challenging teen. She would have probably seen her marriage to Polanski fall apart, as she was never the philanderer he was. She would have aged into a gorgeous older woman with more street smarts and would have left the sixties behind as well she should as a love-child persona serves no purpose after 25 or mothering a child. I wish she'd been given the chance to show the world she was more than a sweet child with that gorgeous face. RIP beautiful lady.
Wow that's beautiful. I think more so she was a woman who had one foot in the past and one in the future. She was the epitome of a modern woman. She was trying to hold onto her femininity and 50's upbringing, but she was embracing the times and creating her own style. She was trying to remain independent, but at the same time stay traditional...marriage, family etc. I think most actresses of the time either dropped out and went the full on family route, or they were alone only focusing on their careers. Probably winding down her career in the mid 80's by doing television something ala Dallas or Knots Landing lol. Hey...those were good shows!
@Topazthecat from Sharon's last interview, in London: "I'm just feminine. Women who are too intelligent and too busy to be successful tend to loose quite a lot of femininity and sexual attraction. they need to give Sharon a star on Hollywood Walk of Fame. Why don't they, anyway? They have people I never even heard of that have a star....even cartoons for heavens sake.....
The original house was torn down and a huge multi level mansion is now in it's place, most of the landscaping and acreage is unrecognizable from the original way it used to be.
According to the guy who gives tours in LA of where famous people died, over 50 people have claimed to have been invited to a party at the house that night, and all just happened to have canceled out. It one of the most persistent urban legends about the murders. According to Sharon Tate's younger sister Doris, Sharon didn't want company that night and wouldn't let Doris bring friends over to swim at the pool. Sharon and Roman's friend Jay Sebring was the only non-resident guest that night.
I agree about the new house. A big, ugly turd is a good description. I hope that someday you are able to buy it, tear it down & restore it to how beautiful it used to be.
IF I had the cash I'd buy it out, demolish & re-build Sharon's 'Love House', it didn't deserve to be be torn down & replaced by that mess. I'd make a small, dignified memorial outside the gates for people to pay respects; sorted.
Trent Reznor used this house as a studio (Downward Spiral album) in 1993/1994 just before demolition. Sharon Tate's sister complained about this. Reznor felt really bad after meeting her. I don't like new building but 1994 was the right time to make decision (25 years passed).
1220sassy Some people actually pay to stay in the home, which is a bed and breakfast where Lizzy Borden murdered her parents. You can actually sleep in the room where she hacked up her step mother. There are some really strange people out there.
Tony Marinelli It's in Fall River, MA. They give you little "Hatchets", instead of steak knives. Lizzie herself, bought a nicer house, with her inheritance! She died in Fall River, in the 1920's.
@@tonymarinelli7304 they also serve ax shaped cookies for breakfast as that is what they had before they were slaughtered. Yeah, it's a bit much yet very popular.
Also, in 1994 my best friend told me that her ballet teacher was supposed to go to Sharon's house that night for the get together, he was friends with Abigail Foldger. He decided not to go. He made a good decision!
dogboo1220 I fully agree, i can't believe those monsters are still alive and being well treated too, except for Susan Atkins who's been in hell about five years ago, i can't wait for the rest of that evil Manson cult to join Atkins there!
Jason, YES they are monsters and should have been executed several decades ago. But their day will come. In my 1st comment, I asked "how could anyone do that to a pregnant woman"? Just imagine what poor Sharon suffered; knowing her precious baby was about to be murdered with her. Just breaks my heart and makes me sick. Burn in hell Manson, Watson, Krenwinkle & VanHouten. Go join Atkins.
Looks like Persians tore down the old house and built one of those giant Motel 6/Opulent Palace style monstrosities on the site. It's been happening all of Los Angeles. Los Angeles of the old days is now "Tehran-geles".
The actual owner of the house was Rudi Altobelli. Melcher was leasing the house from him. When he wanted to move out, he then rented the house to Roman & Sharon. Manson was pissed off at Melcher after he chose to NOT sign a recording contract with him. (Melcher later told many people that he thought Manson had music talent, but he was freaky & scared the hell out of him) That is when Manson sent his murderous, freaky killers to Cielo Drive. The following night, to the LaBianca's. SO senseless.
I recall the newspapers calling this house a Mansion or Sprawling Estate.... Just a beautiful home with great views.... built by MGM for some French Actress in the 40's or 50's.... There was one almost identical on a lower ledge .... not as nice
Es horrible la casa que hay en el lugar donde vivían Sharon y Roman.Como han podido permitirlo!!!! Con lo Bonita que era, a pesar del horror que se produjo en ella, hubo mucho amor y felicidad!!!🏡😥
People forget its not houses that have bad vibes after murders committed there, its the location itself imo. I bet the new house has a residue feeling of the murders still...
That was such a beautiful home. And the property was breathtaking! I can understand that they wanted to tear the house down w/ everything that happened but they should've rebuilt it in the same style! And they definitely should've left the property alone!
What a lovely home with its luxurious grounds and breathtaking views....such a crying shame that it was turned into a house of horror! 😢. I understand why the original house was torn down, and I agree with the decision to do that....I personally don't know anyone who would want to live in a home where such evil was unleashed on 5 innocent people! That being said, I don't understand Jeff Franklin's reason for building such a monstrosity in the original home's place. It's garish and completely overwhelms the 3 acres it sits on! It doesn't look like anyone's home....it looks like a hotel!
I watched the Hillary Duff movie called 'The Haunting of Sharon Tate' last night and this song would have fit so perfectly with the ending, So sad 😓 but very fitting
It was an amazingly beautiful home. Especially the sweeping lawns and views. But I know I couldn’t have lived there after the murders. The house that is there now is awful! It has certainly wiped away any of the natural beauty of the property.
Thanks for your videos, why do you think people say mean things like Roman wanted Sharon dead? I don't know where else to ask, but its so nutty it blows me away. Thanks again.
Would take that beautiful cottage where Sharon lived over the pseudo Moroccan mess that was built there any day. I wish that the Canyon neighbors could have prevented such a horrible place from being built and instead exercised some control and a house more in line with the other houses on the street could have been built. I’ve been to Cielo Drive. It’s still got that 70’s vibe with the eclectic homes built throughout the canyon.
So so sad that it was torn down.....it was such a pretty house.....must have been so beautiful with sharon in the gardens outside walking and playing with her little dog....
Well what I'd say is it's the sign of the tines both then and now of what stands there on the canyon hillside. The property of the 1960s was a beautifully rural homely house with a lush rich backdrop of nature and tranquility. And clearly and terribly open to a gang of psychopaths hell bent on murder. What now stands there on the hill is an ugly sprawling Asian fused mansion compound with all the tech of security in mind to stop the unwanted from getting in. These Tate murders was 3 years before I was born but I grew up to know the shocking atrocities and knowing the industry lost one of it's brightest and arguably most beautiful women of the decade. I wouldn't imagine Roman has ever got over this terrible event, whatever guilt he might feel for losing Sharon and unborn baby. Maybe the teardown was the best thing, but we now at least have the vintage photos of the beautiful old home and Sharon in her prime. One of Hollywood's saddest ever true life stories.
What song is being played here? I thought this was going to be another video of 10050 Cielo Drive but the music compliments it to the point that it hit me right in the gut! It creates an eerie timeline starting out as very forlorn then building up to a crescendo - quite the amateurs masterpiece! Maybe it's because I remember those days, living in a once-in-a-lifetime decade that will never come again.
It was a pretty, peaceful looking place (despite what happened there), much nicer than that gaudy ugly McMansion they built on the site after it was demolished
My own personal question about this video is: Why would someone demolish such an elegant cozy vintage early californian style house to built something so ugly in place ?!
Hi Melanie, David had the Ghost Hunters up there at his home (the loft) type you say. It has several levels and he says it is haunted. The Ghost Hunters did an investigation on the house and they found a few EVPs of which I believe are Sharon. I can clearly make out the words on the EVPS they did. There were 2 that were recorded by Jay and Grant. The first sounded like " take ...take..take me out! " The second is really disturbing and this is what I made it out to be..."Where is the baby?!!!"
This was such a beautiful home, and judging by the photos that Sharon is in, she looks happy and just waiting for the arrival of her baby. It's so sad. So so sad.

I hope in years to come, because of the tear down, that no one will ever forget who lived and died there
IF I had the cash I'd buy it out, demolish & re-build Sharon's 'Love House', it didn't deserve to be be torn down & replaced by that mess. I'd make a small, dignified memorial outside the gates for people to pay respects; sorted.
Also, replace the gate with the original chain link gate.
Since Jeff Franklin has put his house for sale hopefully someone will buy it and tear down that monstrosity and remake the original
No, they sould build a small park instead! You people are crazy for thinking that house in was beautiful, it wasn't! Neither is the new one.
Beautiful house
Thank you George.
Today is Sharons' birthday. Thank you George for the thoughtful and beautiful videos!
That photo of a very pregnant Sharon is always sad to look at, knowing she was murdered that evening.
The new house's original address was 10666, unbelievable.
That was never going to be the new address. The new address was always going to be 10066 and that's what the address is.
I cried again .... A beautiful soul gone
The music made this really hard to watch
Same here. I had to put it on mute.

Me TOO ✔
@Rachel's Average Life The music made it really hard to watch?
Not the tragic and horrific mass murder that took place there?
Indeed!
That was a beautiful house and a beautiful family
I love the music mix up brilliant
The music gives me chills as time passes especially after 3 minutes when they show Sharon pregnant and the house at night with the red light.
Also, Helen Hayes, & Candice Bergan once lived there. I agree that it should not have been torn down.
Thanks George.
very good video, pics and an amazing soundtrack, ty for sharing
Trent Reznor used this house as a studio (Downward Spiral album) in 1993/1994 just before demolition. Sharon Tate's sister complained about this. Reznor felt really bad after meeting her. I don't like new building but 1994 was the right time to make decision (25 years passed).
such a beautiful and serene home......hard to imagine the tragedy that happened there
I could never live in a house where a grizzy murder like this occurred, no way in hell.
I agree Tony. NO WAY could I ever live in that house; or any house where such brutal murders occurred. It would give me the creeps.
Michael Hooky The house where the murders occurred is now a bed and breakfast. There is no doubt she is who murdered her father and step mother.
@@tonymarinelli7304 they also serve ax shaped cookies for breakfast as that is what they had before they were slaughtered. Yeah, it's a bit much yet very popular.
This eerie version if The New World Symphony is oddly such an excellent selection for this collection of photos.
This music is perfect for this
The song is “Coming Home” and is accompanied by exotic Eastern dance music.
Fantastic..great pics!... thx for posting these!
R.I.P. Sharon!
This is oneof my favorites videos of sharon. I love the music. I fell she life with all the videos and de remembers
Also, in 1994 my best friend told me that her ballet teacher was supposed to go to Sharon's house that night for the get together, he was friends with Abigail Foldger. He decided not to go. He made a good decision!
Was a lovely home..
This is the house Sharon Tate lived in at 10050 Cielo Drive.
Very great photos, God bless the victims and their relatives, may the Manson murderers burn in hell!
Jason Noxid Spot on.
doc henry Double spot on. Just blows my mind how anyone could have done this. Especially to a pregnant woman.

I fully agree, i can't believe those monsters are still alive and being well treated too, except for Susan Atkins who's been in hell about five years ago, i can't wait for the rest of that evil Manson cult to join Atkins there!
Yes, they did tear down that awesome, beautiful home.
And built an enormous, monstrosity. Makes me sick to my stomach to see what "America" is turning into.
Nice try but a white Jew lives there.
@@insaneone4369 there are many persian jews though. Anyway that’s all about taste, not race ;). The old house died with its history...
the house is nice but if I see it I get sad :'(
The actual owner of the house was Rudi Altobelli.

I don't think ANYTHING should have been built on that lot. Since the house was built it's seen nothing but death.
Very Nice! Thank you for Sharing!!!!!
People forget its not houses that have bad vibes after murders committed there, its the location itself imo. I bet the new house has a residue feeling of the murders still...
ROBERT BYRD HOMES WERE STUNNING..RIP SHARON, BABY PAUL ,JAY ,ABIGAIL, VORTEC, STEVEN ..GOD REST THEIR
Souls
Sharon was loved
It was an amazingly beautiful home. Especially the sweeping lawns and views. But I know I couldn’t have lived there after the murders. The house that is there now is awful! It has certainly wiped away any of the natural beauty of the property.
Agree. The only thing left is a great view.
She probably had a false sense of security there, felt that no one would bother them there. Besides it was the season of love.
Thanks for your videos, why do you think people say mean things like Roman wanted Sharon dead? I don't know where else to ask, but its so nutty it blows me away. Thanks again.
Looks like such a cozy safe house. Not a place you're expect to be brutally murdered in.
trent resnor from Nine Inch Nails has the door from there where the word pig was written in blood, they recorded in there because of the acoustics.
Amen
What a lovely home, and Sharon such a sweet soul.
Omg the music starts off so beautifully, then the beat starts racing, and I have a panic attack 😰
Almost 45 years on, we are still awaiting justice! In this case, a life sentence just isn't enough!
Rudi Altobelli, the house's owner, had leased it to Melcher before the Polanski's moved in.
Is it morbid to want a replica of the house? I love it and it's a tragedy what happened but I would love to live in a house like that.
The house should have been preserved as a Landmark/Memorial!
It was a pretty, peaceful looking place (despite what happened there), much nicer than that gaudy ugly McMansion they built on the site after it was demolished
All of that is true. And every victim at that residence was guilty of nothing but being in the wrong place at the wrong time.
Haunting song for a beautiful video.
Jesus the new house looks more horrific.
My own personal question about this video is: Why would someone demolish such an elegant cozy vintage early californian style house to built something so ugly in place ?!
@Camilo Nunes. People were brutally murdered in that house. Most people don't want to own let alone live in a place with that kind of history.
