Hello. So the idea is your simply trying to remove as much dust that is within the filter to make air flow better through it. Without another vacuum it’s be a case of brushing off anything that may be in the surface if you havnt been using bags. If it’s just dusty... go back to a good old fashioned beating... every few weeks pop outdoors and bang the dust out of it would help keep it clear. Just an idea and if anyone else has any suggestions we welcome them.

If you have been dust extracting or using on a building site (examples only) I would change every 3-6 months. normal household use with bags being used then you may only change it every 1-2 years. Yes if you open it up you can access what they call the “noise reduction filter” They can harbour all sorts of whiffs. Myself, I just replace them. They are quite low cost. However I’m sure if you put them in a bowl of warm water with something like zoflora … and then fully dry. This would work too.

I imagine to freshen it up if it’s smelly I would hand wash in a warm mix of water and zeflora (or any nice smelling stuff) As it’s probably full of carbon deposits and dust it will never get back to white. They only do 11” and 12” filter. So you can’t really go any smaller. Have you checked that you have been sent the 11” and that a packing error hasn’t been made maybe?

No… the other vacuum has a bag in which catches the dust. Cleaning of the filter probably only needs to be done every 6 months… or if you have been using without a bag
I would clean the tub with zoflora, or any nice smelling cleaner if you can’t get it. Also check inside your pipes etc and clean them with a bottle cleaning brush. Change bag and get some vacuum fresheners. Change filter. You should be back to a fresh start then and make it a regular clean. Hope this helps.
It says on them that you can’t but people do. It needs needs to be on a low temperature wash and all dust removed that you can before doing so. Don’t tumble dry.
I want the exact opposite!!! The suction is so strong that it has lifted the carpets in the house, lifted the carpet lining in the footwell of the car, destroyed some net curtains which got sucked in as the motor is so strong. It’s too strong. I’ve stopped using it and am going to throw it out.
If you open the air valve on the metal bent pipe that takes suction down to 75% ish. Don’t throw it out if you can’t get on with it, someone will want to buy it
@@HenryBags But what about when I just use the hose with an attachment and no metal pipe? (Metal pipe is difficult to use in the car.) PS Thanks for replying.
@@deepdiver51 the only one I find helps is a crevice tool that you can get with a little cut out on in… see link below for picture. Yeah really guys do not wash the filter i just did and it has totally messed it up and now i need to buy a new one ..its barely sucking ..im kinda annoyed. I should have lostened to the instructions
Trust me we don’t. This is a customers vacuum that came in for repair. The dusty filter felt like the perfect chance to show this. Should have waited a week as we got one I from a customer where the filter could have been entered for crufts 🤣
Not ideal, nor do I recommend this if you value your warranties: take the filter out, put all the plastic tools inside the hopper and put the lid back on. Turn on and the lid should have just enough seal to use the hose on the filter to clean it. Only do this is you know your HEPA FLOW bag is not ripped, or better still brand new. I do this every time I put a new bag in and it freshens the filter up. Another little tip is to make sure the rubber gasket is clean going around the rim and I just a little sharp razor blade to cut off the rubber mould to make it perfectly flat. I think numatic should upgrade to a silicone type seal in the future, this ensures no dust loss.
@@HenryBags because if you read my post I’m saying to use it without the pre motor filter, and if anyone has used it to suck up talk or brick dust, this will kill the bearings if you’re not savvy

Reply even banging a filter on the wall outside can even help a little… be aware of dust blowing onto next doors washing line though 😂
You’d be surprised. That said if you just have the one, taking your dusty filter outside and banging it against the wall will get a lot of dust out… just make sure that your neighbours washing isn’t hung out nearby. Anything to get dust out will improve suction

Could just buy another filter. Much cheaper and you can use Henry to clean the old one and use them interchangeably.

I have the Henry compact cordless and have to get a new filter. I got the 11” tritex and it doesn’t fit. Too big. Any idea what filter size this uses?
They only do 11” and 12” filter. So you can’t really go any smaller. Have you checked that you have been sent the 11” and that a packing error hasn’t been made maybe?
