You are the only restorer that cleans very well before doing the repairs. That’s partly why you are my favourite restorer. I also love your sense of humour.
As a woodworker myself, I see this as the most beautiful and impressive project that you’ve done! You honored the life and story of this broken old beauty and gave it dignity. I enjoyed watching you set up to make the dovetails. Something that I haven’t tackled yet. You showed us once again that you truly are a professional! Thanks for sharing this massive project.
1. Those dovetails were Fancy A-F! 🎉 2. The amount of work you put into this piece paid off. It's gorgeous! 3. Every single time that woman sings, "Surprise! Surprise!" I giggle. Ty for that!
You are such a joy to watch and listen too. You make me laugh. You’re such a Professional and Fancy AF. Yeah, and Bob’s Your Uncle! The world needs more people like you.
Anyone else here remember when our guy only had a handful of tools and worked in his back yard? Look at him now! I have so enjoyed his progression from “I’m learning this to make extra money” to “I am doing this full time in a real shop and let me show you some custom pieces”. Such a pleasure to watch.
It is wonderful that you paid homage to the history of this beautifully restored table by leaving those imperfections. The hardware you chose perfectly complements the style of the table. I love it and your humor.
I'm not a woodworker, and don't know what it says about my level of laziness, but I love watching your videos. I watch them to relax, and occasionally get a chuckle. Thank you for doing what you do.
I'm so impressed by how your skills have progressed since I began watching you years ago. This was quite the undertaking, but I think most would be hard pressed to say that top isn't original. Great work on the drawers. You demystified that dovetailing process! Have the best holiday available to you.
Love your sense of humor! I think this is one of my favorite projects from you you brought life back to a very beautiful table. Love the lenght of the video too. Would it be an hour long and i’d still watch it!
Oh my goodness Jay, this table was a doozy from start to finish! Look at how beautiful it is now! The drawer pulls are perfect as well as the color! I believe I'd have to keep this one 😊! You did a fabulous job cause you're a professional! Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous! 😊❤
My dad was a woodworker and made me a pine table for my breakfast nook many years ago. The scribbles and doodles from the years of my kid's use have made it a cherished possession. Your work is always fabulous, but this one was really special.
In my opinion, this was the most amazing project you've ever done since I've followed you! The drawers were utter perfection, and I love that you kept it original. I would put this table in my house, I loved it that much!
Seeing this table's legs reminds me of all the 1930-40s kitchen tables that got shortened for coffee tables back in the '70s. Fortunately my little beat up table made it intact.
I really loved watching you create the drawers from parts of the top. It turned out really, really good. ❤

Please, do not stop your videos, they are part of my weekly spiritual and psychological support, after reading, watching and listening the news. Thank you for your great patience and care 😁.
It was fun to see you get so excited when you learned how to dovetail. It was like watching one of your early episodes before you got fancy and had a workshop.
I personally think you made the right call in not attempting to fix the top and you made good use of the top making the drawers because you are a professional and never let wood go to waste. Loved the result and the handles were perfect 😀
There is just nothing to not enjoy about your videos. From your woodworking skills, to your personality and Mando, everything is just a joy to watch. I look forward to every new project.
You brought its earth and beauty back. A farmhouse table is a centrepiece, a place to gather for food, talk, good times and bad. It needed to keep those scars and your additions fit right on in. A beautiful job, yet again❤
I told you it’d be beautiful n it definitely is. You did amazing work on it. It’s a good thing you’re a professional 😁. Actually I think you are. I think back to when you first started with very few tools n look at you now “you’re a professional!” I just love this table. It reminds me of n looks like an old farm table. I wish you weren’t in the UK cuz I would love to buy it. Been wanting a table like that for a long long time. Jay, you did magnificent work on it n it shows. Well done my friend, well done. ♥️♥️🥰🥰👍👍🌟🌟🐈⬛
Jay, you are finishing off 2024 with a true flourish! This project was massive, you treated the old dowager with respect and created a thing of beauty! Bravo!
I love how comfortable you have become in front of the camera and how you let your sense of humor go. Your videos and skills and quality are just incredible. Keep going and growing. You ARE a PROFESSIONAL!!!
My father could build anything. He was a watch maker and built his own watch repair benchs and other cabinets. We lived on Guam for 5 yrs from 1955 to 1960. Furniture was expensive so he built all of our chest of drawers and our dining room table out of Philippine mahogany. I was his helper so watching your videos brings back a lot of good memories. Keep them coming. I enjoy as I'm sure the rest of your viewers your sense if humor.
You took a ratty table that looked like it was ready to be firewood and you made it spectaular! Im happy you used off cuts to do repairs and keep the almost primative look of it.❤❤❤
Amazing job ..it looks beautiful. I love The rustic look. I have learned so much from you. I have been restoring furniture for about 6 years, and I love learning tips and skills from other people. I have been following you for a long time, You certainly have come such a long way since your first videos. I look back at myself 6 years ago and I'm amazed at how much my skills have changed also. Thank you for the great videos, I look forward to them. but why wouldn't I? 😉 After all you are a professional! LOL and also fancy AF
This project made me so happy; I think it’s probably my favorite of all of your projects that I’ve watched videos of. I love pieces like this: old, serviceable items that were made for, and have often done, a lot of hard work. They have a different type of beauty from the “fancy” pieces that brings a warmth and feeling of stability to a home. You really brought this piece back to life, and, wherever it goes from here, I hope it is truly cherished as it should be.😊 (On a side note, yes please to a longer video about making dovetail joints; us amateur woodworkers can always use more instruction! 😅)
Wow, what a transformation. Not only are you fancy AF, your skills as a woodworker and a professional have come on phenomenonally. It's a pleasure to watch your progression.
Jay, these are my most favourite videos where you make a beautiful piece from an almost useless item. I love how you recycle all the wood and repair and create new pieces. Nothing is ever “good enough”, and “you are a professional”!! As usual you excelled! Wow, it is so beautiful! Cheers from Australia 🤗🇦🇺
Well done! I think you salvaged as much as possible of the original and added a top that will make it a functional and beautiful piece of furniture. The new top has a beautiful depth to its color. I really like it!
Surprise Surprise!!!!!! I was a bit disappointed by the missing brass touch, but there it was at the end, thank you! Another beautiful job. My husband has done dove tailed drawers and he told me that they are a pain and not to get any ideas. lol So glad that the life of the table was able to be saved. Furniture with a story to be told beats new any day.
Jay I’m not least worried about this Old Table, with your incredible talent and skills you will have this table looking like a beautiful brand new table. I believe in you. Let your talent and your creativity do the talking. 😂😂😂😂😂.
It's a wonderful restoration. You kept the character but gave it a new life. You reused the old table top and made the perfect table top. Awesome job Jay!
Excellent work! Those pulls are perfect! Good call salvaging what you could from the table top. Mando is so cute. I’m so glad he’s made a full recovery. 🦋
I watch several channels of woodworkers, restorers, and builders. You have become my favorite of them all, with your buddy from AT Restoration coming in a close 2nd. Please show us how you use the dove tail piece of equipment!!! You have inspired me to sign up for a woodworking course next year. I'm so excited. We are planning our new home, and I want to build my kitchen table and a library table, maybe even a sofa table. Watching you has given me the motivation to give it a try. Thank you so much. And please don't fret over the length of your videos. The more detail you can show us is so beneficial!!
The result of all your work is just perfectly outstanding. I love how you respected the original carpenter and the story of the tables' past. A total joy to watch and see the journey from almost destroyed to a beautiful, functional table. Thank you so much.
The fact that the beat-up top made drawers is super. The thin white glue was the right choice with tight dove tails! The handles were a great choice! And we have all been there about wrong sizes! I look at the trip as a needed work break! Hi Mondo, nice to see you! And I love that smile!
Absolutely beautiful! I personally revamped, while keeping the patina, a library desk ( 1930s?). My dilemma was to keep the overall look opaque, not shiny, after the work/repairs were done. I managed semi opaque finish, and still found it warm and faithful to the piece. My desk is about the same color as your table. Long story short, your table color is very warm and welcoming; however, perhaps a little shiny for my personal taste. England may be different in the "cultural wood world" and tastes differ, I guess. Altogether, absolutely perfect repairs because, of course, you are a professional! Well done.
I think you made the right decision on making a new top . You are a professional and know what you are doing .I love that you have all the wonderful tools .That helps a lot when restoring old furniture . Great job as always !!!! Prayers 🙏 and Love 🤟 From Ginger PS it was nice to see Mondo again I love cat's.
Figuring out a dovetail jig is an accomplishment, making the first dovetails on it that actually look good is exciting. Making 50 display cases that were ordered from my once up on a time shop, I loathed dovetails.. :) You know you sell yourself short, every video, which by the way is professionally done, interesting and the sound recording is always spot on, anyway in every video you say I may have bitten off more than I can chew, my dear sir, after watching most of your channels offerings I find that there would be few projects that challenged you to the breaking, I am quitting this project point. You are just a very good, competent woodworker.
That was amazing! I agree the top was too damaged and using it to make the drawers was a fantastic idea. The end results were a great tribute to the original maker and to the age of the table. It would look great in any home. Keep up the great work I look forward to all your work.
Thanks!
Wow 😮 don’t know what to say. That’s very generous. Thank you so much 🥰

Really? I've seen it on other vlogs was well
Lots of the people I watch clean their pieces very well.
I hope you know, there’s tons of us that would happily sit through a hot long repair video
I agree. He said a 35 min video was long and I’m like..I’d watch an hour for sure
Totally agree. This could have been a two hour video and I would be here for it!
I’d need to edit it though 😂😂😂😂
I would be honor ed to sit and observe your work
@@Flippingdrawers I can understand you're not wanting to edit a two hour video but we would watch it. Just so you know.
