Every Jackie Chan Role (Before He Was Famous) (1962-1977)

- This is EVERY cameo and small role Jackie Chan did before he became famous with the two 1978 films (Drunken Master and Snake In The Eagles Shadow).
Using mostly IMDB (and other sources) I tracked down every single movie he did starting with 1962 all the way up to 1977 and searched through all of the movies to find Jackie, there were a couple films that I'm guessing he doesn't actually appear in but is credited as playing a role like (Supermen Of The Orient (which he was a choreographer), Bruce And Shaolin Kung Fu 2, and A Touch Of Zen). He may very well be in those movies but I don't think he's close enough to the camera to be recognized.
I only intended to make this JUST Chan apearences but couldn't resist the few times you also see his other peeking opera school mates, if it was quick I pointed them out a few times (Sammo Hung, Yuen Biao, and Yuen Wah).
With that said it was hard to not give props to Mars as well (appeared with Chan many times before later joining his Stunt team) so I also pointed him out a few times.
The clips I chose to show for each movie were mostly edited and chopped down for the purposes of just getting a feel of Jackie Chans presence in the scene and also to try my best to keep this video just under an hour, for some acting roles if the scene and cameo appearance was short enough then I more or less left it untouched (Enter The Dragon, None But The Brave, ect.) but if he had a big role (Cub Tiger, or The Heroine) then I chopped it down to just show a few of the best highlights because if I showed everything then this video would be over 2 hours!
After reading his autobiography "I Am Jackie Chan" the chapters where he talks about working on all the films before he got famous always made me curious as to what he looked like or did on camera, and after going through all that trouble of finding him I decided to make a video out of it.
So now this can be used as a visual representation of his early years!
Hope you enjoy the video!

This video made me realise that even if Jackie hadnt become insanely popular in '78, he still wouldve had a pretty good career as an actor/stunt director. You can see his reputation begin to rise from '74- '76, and even though his early starring vehicles were faliures he was still getting large supporting roles in films like Hand of Death and Killer Meteors. Im sure being Sammo's buddy helped. He probably wouldve had a similar career to his classmate Yuen Biao, if hadnt blown up with Snake in the Eagle's Shadow. The Three Brothers films may still have even happened, just with Sammo as the main star instead of Jackie.
no doubt jackie would have a long career in china or hong kong or taiwan as a supporting actor/stunt choreographer/director. funny thing about yuen biao was he wasn't really interested in being a star he was more than ok with being stunt coordinator/director.
Idk... He was just extras in all of this movies... He got own chance cos of Bruce death when industry started try find another familiar one "Bruce". Yes, he could be famous coordinator like Yuen Woo-ping but seriously, who knows except nerds about this man when movie go to cinemas? And very own style of Jackie build at western silence cinema icons could be not discover and wasted in this way... His friend and agent told him that if Jackie did not became stuntman and action actor he could be very good thief :P
@@sirhana so according to u're opinion he's famous just because Bruce ded? that sounds so arrogant and disrespect to this man skill. he's an opera player from very young age already had skill don't argued with me he's not as good as Bruce ofc Bruce is Bruce Jackie is Jackie lmfao he's famous because his method to survive and make it big in the industries is not to be serious not to be the perfect one look like jet lie or Bruce Lee he's had his own trademark that make him big duh even Bruce still Alive he will still be the legend he is like today because he's the Jackie Chan smh
Joshbaker, Hard work never goes weast
He is the main character of CUB TIGER FROM KWANG TUNG and SHAOLIN WOODEN MEN. 1971 and 1976 movies. @@sirhana
Thank you so much friend for uploading all these scenes. As a fan of Jackie Chan, seeing him in these scenes are just so amazing happiness 😊
hatsoff your great effort to pick up every Jackie's scenes!
What an incredible video, very professional.
Few Jackie Chan fans are dedicated to looking for old films from the 70s in which he plays small roles. It's rare to find dedicated people like this. I leave my congratulations.
How could I contact you to recommend an upcoming video of short appearances from films from the 80s, 90s, 2000s?
Man thank you so much... I was looking at his film with my dad as a kid. And when i will have no more parents, i will come back to this beautiful youtube video..
Who, who, who put this video together?! To find all these clips, to compile them together, to point out where Jackie is, to get such clean clips as these! You must be Jackie's second-biggest fan (after me).😊 Thank you so much for this!!!
This is a result of over 10 years of work lol! If I did this all in one shot it would have never happened, but basically since I was a kid I was obsessed with trying to see Jackie in every single one of his movies using IMDB as reference, as time went on I ended up reading through his autobiography (I am Jackie Chan book), then it further fascinated me all the stories he talked about being stunt doubles and extras before he got famous and always craved to actually see what he was talking about...
As the years went on I tried my best to collect all the movies listed on his IMDB and I guess slowly I picked through each one trying to find Jackie (my goal was really just to see every single fight scene he ever made) but it ended up being fun trying to find out where he was.
The more movies I went through the easier it was to recognize him, eventually I ended up with all these movies in full and didn't really like most of them, I figured instead of deleting them I may as well just edit out all of the scenes with Jackie in them to save them in case I ever wanted to watch those parts again, so all those movies turned into small clips, and then It only made sense once I reached that point to compile them all together, add arrows and label which movie and year its from because I know other people would be interested especially because no one else has even attempted to do this so it only made sense!
And the reason why I went through all of that also just happens to be because I've been an editor and film maker who was heavily influenced by Jackie Chans fight scenes so I guess all those years of making films I was able to go down this crazy road of constructing a video like this no matter how long it would have taken
Thank You So Much For Your Everlasting Efforts. Wow! 10 Years Of These Painstaking Process To Compiled To An Hour.. You Got My FuLL Respects. And Look Where It Got You Now. You're An FiLm Editor. I'll Look Forward For Your Next Project. Thank You Again From Another Jackie Chan Fan. From Malaysia With Love.. 💯👍👍👍😁😁🤩
That's a hell of a lot of research you did to put this together, and a really great gift for us fans. Thank you so much!
THANK YOU, this is an amazing compilation. Thank you so much for your effort (it must've taken you so long) and for the video, very precious. I didn't even know he had that much roles, and the quality of all your clips is actually very good. And you even put the list with his movies !!! Thank you so much again !!
The fact Jackie stood in as a henchman to becoming a action hero is commendable- hard to believe he started at 8 years old and is 70 now
Amazing footage of jackie and sammo as kids! Even biao! Hats off for you, what a great video
Great work! Maybe we can get one of these for all his works right when, and after he became famous
This is the best video on all RUclips!!
I love to see 'All in the Family (1975)' in full movie.

Thank you so very much for uploading this video
Love this guy Kung Fu movie 😅

then legendary actor would say 'dont expect success to come before your 100th role'
Young Jackie Chan is flexible, that's why he can do an amazing stunts
アクション、コメディー、ミュージカルなど幅広く多才で、演技も上手い俳優ですね。😊😮😂❤

Jackie Chan Has Made His Debut 8 Years Kid😨
Yes, he had started he'spractice when he was 5year old
Great compilation. Was it ever solved what movie he is talking about in both his autobiographies where he did a somersault from a balcony as a stand in for the lead?
Fist of Fury [1972]
¿FIST Of FURY [1972] ?
He was famous pretty early in Asia.
I know this video is about jackie but i love that you can see young sammo being a big brother to his opera mates. Notice his set with yuen biao hes very careful and even slows down a bit so yuen can land safely.
JC's birth year is 1954. That means he started early in the movies, when he was 8 years old! Now he's already 70 years old!
And now he become most famous actor all the time

You skipped the best part of The Heroine (Rumble in Hong Kong) from 1973. There's a car chase scene where Jackie hangs off a car, then falls from the car as it charges towards him, then he does a parkour jump over a wall, just as the car is about to hit him. This was an early glimpse of the daredevil Jackie we've all come to know.
Amazing 🔥 Jackie Chan is a Genius 😍
It actually makes me even more proud of Jackie Chan.
I did not know he hade so much bit parts in hapkido.he was almost a star even when Bruce Lee lived.

An iconic legend always started it from zero
Hi, thank you for this compilation. Yet, I didn't see a cut from "Come Drink With Me" (1966), where Jackie - allegedly - plays one of the kids in the tavern.
Wow how did u find all of these vid? Amazing!
Long before Michael Jackson died, all my, I've wanted to see Jackie Chan and Michael Jackson together.
Closest you’ll get is Tucker and Chan, since Tucker knew both of them personally

Jackie Chan once considered playing Goku in live-action after Akira Toriyama brought it up.
Thanks

11:15 - Second from right, that's Yuen Wah. Can somebody tell the name of the guy in the middle in black vest at 15:50? Saw him in quite a few movies fighting with Jackie. All in all, this is a timeline of two decades of HK action films, all preserved for posterity to witness the history in the making.
Very nice work and respect Jackie Chan
It’s actually amazing that you managed to collect all of these because most of these are pretty hard to find in this day and age! Also, did you find these on the Internet or did you have to buy physical DVDs and blu-rays?
Took many years to track down! probably been at it for over 15 years, the idea just naturally came as I managed to get everything. found them all over the internet
@@ATPStudios Ohh I see! Your dedication to this was really commendable tbh (15 years?!?) and you’re prolly one of the most dedicated fans I’ve seen
Why was he so adorable as a kid 🥺
Dude is legit good looking in his early twentys
Wow sammo and jackie has been in d gm for a lng time
One reason this was a lot of work is this weird thing fandom does where every single, tiny, near-insignificant appearance in a fu flick is presented as a "role" that was "played". And I get it, but the thing that bugs me about sites like HKMDB is that there's no distinction between a starring/supporting role or a simple piece of stunt work. If they tried that in Hollywood, the stuntmen would be the most prolific "actors"; Does that make sense? Simple: If you didn't have a line, you didn't have a role. If you didn't even have a stunt, you were an "extra". That aside, this video, seen as a record of every "appearance", is an awesome compilation.
Yeah I had trouble when naming this video, at first I called it "cameo" but then realized its only a cameo if the person is famous, in hindsight now your right I should have titled this as "appearance" instead of "role"
Now do part 2
Suggested title: Every Jackie Chan role (When he became famous) (1978 - Present).
Hey,,I am really a big fan of him,,I am very much dedicated to watch all of his movies
So can anyone suggest where I can find all these movies
I have been searching from past a month on RUclips google.. I could find none..
Pls help me..
You can try finding blu-ray discs and DVDs online on sale
Seems like interesting roles. Funny he wasn't famous earlier.
Jackie chan ❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉
Omg how did you find these? And how long did it take you to do this
Literally over 10 years LOL... I slowly tracked down all his movies according to IMDB and about 6 years ago I decided to skim through each one to find where he was, then as more time went on I was able to find basically all of his appearances in all these movies then saved the clips for reference as the years went by. Then after doing all that it came to me it would be a great idea to combine all the clips into this video!
Gracias me gusto mucho todo los videos
Pero un segundo parte 😅

Wow during Jackie Chan early roles is great and it's weird seeing him as a Villain and the henchman and a thug at the background. I can't imagine him as that but I enjoyed it. But as he became more popular he refused to do villain. He does action and comedy forever. He does less dramatic roles like the karate kid and the forgienor. But he was very serious this action film the Protector 1985 but no comedy in it. With his tough attitude and he did say a bad word in the film which surprised me.
