    I loved this movie. I don't understand why so many people disliked it. GI Joe has always been a sci fi military franchise. My only dislike of the movie was some of the shaky camera scenes. I'm definitely getting these figures and hope we get another GI Joe movie.

    • @TMan978
      @TMan978  3 года назад

      I said my issues. The Sci Fi mystical part wasn't my main problem. There were just plot details that they expected you to overlook. I was cool with the characters and the action and most of the stuff being presented but a ton of things happened that didn't make sense.
      Like if he took a high-tech bike and they had all that sophisticated technology on their compound, you mean to tell me they didn't have GPS and the bike? Akiko didn't even have to follow him she could have just tracked him and went back later to find out where he was. Plus these were all supposed to be trained expert ninjas. This guy, who lived a relatively normal life besides cage fighting, was able to come to their compound and after a couple days sneak around without them noticing. The ending was the definite kicker for me and I'm not going to ruin that here. I could have been cool with everything but the way it ended didn't make sense to me. Basically they didn't stick the landing.
      I think the overall major problem that I was trying to get past myself, seeing snake eyes being handsome and charismatic feels like a whole different character. I don't see how they can continue the story and then drop you to a mute never showing his face guy.

    @glasswolf0162 3 года назад +7

    The figure isn't bad. And neither was the movie. But I just can't get use to seeing Snake Eyes with a handsome face and hearing his actual voice.
    For me, this totally kills his bad-ass unknown soldier mystique. But I do have it on order.

    I'm really frustrated that Hasbro has been dropping the boot swivels from their 6" figures. I think people should be more up in arms about it. Having no way to rotate the feet really make it hard to balance them in most poses.

    For the first time in god knows how long, my local Walmart actually had G.I.Joe figures in stock while I was there. Explicitly these two.
    Grabbed Snake since he's been one of my favorite characters since I was a kid despite not watching the cartoon, but SS looked a bit odd in the sort of cream coloring they cast him in. All the stuff I'm familiar with (noting I'm not a heavy fan of the series) has had him in white?

      Well, for movies, it usually happens for two reasons:
      One, Actors cannot emote through a mask. Because their faces are covered, you can't see their facial expressions and more importantly, their eyes. It's believed that their performance suffers for it, and the audience won't be able to connect with their character.
      Two, if the actor playing the role is a big name, the studio running the show is going to want their faces seen because the audience is coming to see THEM. In fact, some actors themselves may have a clause in their contract that states that their faces MUST be shown so the audience knows it is them.

      1. No tracking device in the high-tech Bikes
      2. Snake Eyes out-Ninja-ing the Ninja clan he trained with for 2 days.
      3. Storm Shadow being stripped of his birthright but Snake Eyes gets a pass.
      Snake Eyes was basically the villain.

      I wonder how much Paramount/Hasbro paid Larry Hama, to say he wrote Snake-eyes wrong when creating him. If he could do it over again, that movie version would have been what he would have done for Snake-Eyes. I just don’t get why you have the comics, you have the cartoon. Just make it like that. It’s a great story as is. Same as Transformers. Just grinds my gears. I love Larry Hama too. I get he sold out, crap at his age I probably would have too for the right price. but geez that movie was “different”. I’ll leave it at that.

      @@FemboybunnyGW long story. G.I.Joe fans were upset about the movie. So they dusted off Larry Hama (Google it) he is the creator of Snakeeyes. His origin story is considered the greatest comic run of all time. Issue 21 of the marvel run for certain. Hasbro and Paramount paid him cash and gave him a honorary producer credit to cut down on the blow back from upset die hard fans. to say the movie changes to Snake-eyes were fantastic, and he wished he did it that way back in the 80’s. It’s sad it really is, I hope he got a lot of cash to sell out his own work. It obviously didn’t work, the movie tanked.
