In the event the room will not retract at all, here’s what you need to do. For an electronic manual override, find the circuit board.
Press the “mode button” six times quickly, then press a seventh time and hold for approximately five seconds. Wait for the red and green lights to flash, then let go of the button. Go back inside and see if the switch on the control panel will bring the room back in. If that doesn’t work, then you need to do it yourself. On the control board, unplug both motors. Now you can move the room in the direction you need. For bigger walls, you may need some help. When pushing the wall, try to keep both sides even. When the wall is in, plug both motors back into the control board. This applies the brake for the motors and will keep the room locked in position while you’re on the road. In the event you’re unsuccessful pushing the wall in, on the outside, and at the top of the slide wall you’ll see two panhead screws. Take these screws out. Lift each motor up half inch or so and put the screws back in. Doing this disengages the gears, this will make the wall easier to push back in. On inside of coach.. put something on top of the slide room, like a 2 x4. This will act as a brake. If you run into issues and want to know exactly what’s going on, Check the controller for error codes. Here’s what the lights mean… For a fault specific to the motor, the green LED will flash once for Motor 1, and twice for Motor 2. The red LED will flash anywhere from two to nine times, depending on the error code. Here’s how to decipher the number of flashes… 2 is Battery drop out: Battery capacity low enough to drop below 6 volts while running. 3 - Low battery: Voltage below 8 volts at start of cycle. 4 High battery: Voltage greater than 18 volts. 5- Excessive motor current: High amperage, also indicated by 1 side of slide continually stalling. 6 Motor short circuit: Motor or wiring to motor has shorted out. 8 Hall signal not present: Encoder is not providing a signal. Usually a wiring problem. 9 Hall power short to ground: Power to encoder has been shorted to ground. Usually a wiring problem. When you have an error code you need to reset the board. To do that press the extend/retract buttons twice.
Once to reset, another to return to normal use. If you unable to correct the problem or you simply do not feel comfortable troubleshooting, please contact your Thor Motor Coach dealer.

Seems like most errors are code 8 - wiring. Frequently around the head of the motor. Could you reinforce this area? Shrink tubing around wires to limit wire abrasion as the free floating motor moves around? Silicon the PCB board to wire connection?
Just trying to throw out ideas to improve the reliability of the system…

where is the slide controller located on a 2022 Four Winds 22B? The large bay under the bed is completely sealed. Paneling is stapled to the walls and the bottom of the bay has a black plastic liner. The ceiling of the bay has a solid sheet of paneling type material. There is a steel edge with about 12 screws between the paneling and the bottom black plastic liner.

@@ThorMotorCoach i was a little silly and over looked the circuit board and found it a a week or two ago. i tried the button 6 times and hold the 7th. nothing worked and no flashing lights. i tried it a couple times. i unplugged the motor cables and no way it was moving by pushing, of course i was alone but still . gears must be locked, i looked for screwed to releases gears like video suggests and found nothing. i will be calling the Thor phone like as soon as i can get a day to do it, we have had rain and snow and cold weather here in bama and my rv is kept at my dads house, not mine. but here is the kicker. my rubber pad (button) has falling off and bracket holding the rubber button in place on the mother board is off also, i found them both but no way can i plug back in. too small for me. so the button plan is moot. any other suggestions before calling thor?

Hi Kevin, have you checked all your fuses and breakers? Are the lights on the control module for the slide flashing or does it appear to be dead? If the box is dead and the slide is out, remove the two white plastic plugs on each side of the box. This will release the motors and you (along with some help) can push the wall in. Plug the cables back in to lock the motors once the slide is in. Our customer care number is (877) 855-2867. - Steve

Not exactly correct on placing in over ride mode. When you press and hold the 7th time release the button as soon as the lights flash. If you hold too long like they did in the video the lights will go out and it will not be in over ride mode. When you release immediately the lights will flash for 1 minute while you go push the button to retract the slide
