This is, hands down, one of the greatest action games ever made. Many segments of it actually surpass what the current generation is doing, which is both impressive and sad.

in Emu , 1 is much better in emu than console. But the 2nd one hasn't been properly cracked yet, it cant be perfectly emulated. i'd suggest 1 in emu, and 2 in ps3 collection version.

It's the Blade of Olympus. If you play a difficulty you have beaten before, you can unlock bonus play which includes all of your upgrades from your first playthrough and you will have the sword right when you start and after it is taken away.

Everyone should play God of War. Play it in the order of the storyline, that makes it much better: Ascension - Chains of Olympus - God of War 1 - Ghost of Sparta - God of War 2 - God of War 3. That's the correct storyline.

I Got GoW I 1st day it was put in the shops near me, and i was stunned, i passed the game several times without even being bored one bit! Then when i got part two, and found all the weapons i was even more stunned, also the story changes drastically which i love!!!I thout it was gana be a fail compared to the 1st one, then i got chains of olympus, still impressed, Gow III BETTER come up to standard and prove itself, as the best Game of ALL TIME =D! ( sadly i dnt have a ps3 yet :/ )

i think they put them in, because perseus and theseus were both pretty powerful warriors, and were even thought legendary at that time, and so taking them out just makes Kratos even more badass

I'm in my late-teens, I dunno about you guys, but games like 'God of War I and II' and PS2 classics, that's my personal definition of "retro gaming" XD

The greek gows were like dark comics where as the now gow feels like a novel

Yes. If you start a new game from the file you beat zeus on you will be able to use and power up the blade of olympus.
