  • Tianjin Eco-city's master developer said the project's next focus is to be a place where the low-carbon economy can "thrive and grow". The flagship government-to-government project between Singapore and China turns 15 this year. Today, the eco-city has over 150,000 residents, schools, and large shopping malls. Singapore Deputy Prime Minister Lawrence Wong is in China and will mark the anniversary during his visit. Olivia Siong reports.

Can anyone be honest and tell us whether Sino-Singapore Tianjin Eco-City is a success after 15 years?

I wonder how Goh Chok Tong manage to put our tax payers money into this project after the Suzhou disaster. Why can't people learn from past mistakes? Lawrence Wong's "mutual learning, mutual exchanges, mutual collaboration" mention nothing about the money returns. How much did we lose?

China's per capita carbon footprint is nowhere near the highest in the world. Are you from the west or Taiwan or Hong Kong to say something so silly?
